Chapter 3 - The other side of the mirror

Chris felt his vision go fuzzy and the world seemed to spin as he felt like the world was changing around him. The interior of the hospital started to fade away as if it was just a fog that was begining to raise and chris saw around him an entirely different plain of existence it was full of vibrantly colored beings of all shapes and sizes and each one seemed to specialize in something unique. There were elementals in sky shaped like birds and clouds and they were so brightly colored it was almost blinding to watch yet Chris couldn't peel away his eyes. When Chris stopped watching the sky he noticed that he was near the sheer cliff face of a mountain and decided to head down.

The hike down had to be atleast 3 miles of heavy forests and vibrantly colored beings shaped like foxes, wolves, squirrels, bears and many more. To reach it's base at this time Chris noticed he didnt feel the slightest bit hungry and then noticed the breeze blow against his back. To his right was a large lake with a small island in the middle of it where many Azure and Green figures seemed to be meeting even the water seemed to hold its own life as did the mountain he had noticed before they all had a sense of welcoming yet the direction he felt the strongest "pull" from was in front of him its direction seemed nearly barren yet he felt that something was calling out to him so he answered that call... that alluring pull that seemed so convincing it almost felt as if this was no random chance that he had walked this way and he started to jog then sprint as the call got stronger. Chris ran past so many vibrant colored beings yet not one seemed to notice him... as if he wasn't real to them and yet Chris felt that this couldnt be more real even though he nearly couldn't believe it. It was as if the wind seemed to urge him forward and earth seemed to roll under his feet boosting him even further causing the strange colors to blend together and he was only focused on moving towards what he was certain had to be his elemental. He finally saw it a being made of an astral violet light that had an aura of confidence and destruction it had a cold gaze and yet when Chris appeared in its line of sight it seemed to hold out its hand as if asking Chris to shake it and so chris moved up to it confidently and suppressing his excitement he shook its hand.

It was at this moment that Chris returned to the hospital as if nothing had happened however he could feel an energy in his chest which he hadn't felt before the thick air of this world now felt even lighter than back on earth and he couldn't help but be surprised with this sudden change and although he had wandered for miles and taken hours in the realm of the elementals it only took a few seconds in the mortal realm and no one seemed to notice his new feeling or aura but him as if it was either special or only some special people could read the auras of others. As he left the hospital the guard caught up to him "Excuse me sir but you seem to have forgotten one of the main reasons we checked your elemental which was to find out which residency you belong in... well? spit it out already" "Oh it's a violet colored one. so where do I go?" "..." Chris shifted under the guards stare "Did I... do something to offend you?" "no you didn't offend me lad just caught me off guard with that joke of yours. Now speak up which elemental have you got" "I have a violet one sir...why is that hard to accept?" "don't keep lying to me boy just tell me your damn elemental so I can set you up at a home of your own ok?." "But I'm serious" Chris said in a confused manner not quite understanding the importance of a violet elemental
