Chapter 169 - Chapter 153

From the curious gaze and passing murmurs, Naell could only silently nod and smile awkwardly.

"Okay! Here's your pass, sire mage. Enjoy your stay in the Republic of Summer!" Said the guard enthusiastically.

Luckily, Naell was able to stop himself from raising his hands and going "hurrah".

As they entered the country, all the discomfort from their recent interaction dissipated. As inside the gate, grand sights and people from all walks of life made their way into the city.

If one would already refer to the outside as rather crowded, the inside would surely surprise them as the numbers drowned it in comparison. No one was even looking in Owly and Naell's direction as each person was focused on making their way to their own destinations.

Near the gates, different shops were lined up. They were the stalls that were pioneered in Beryldot yet seemed to have blossomed greatly in that country.

There they not only offered food and simple products, but even services such as carriages and more.

Naell and Owly decided to head further in rather than gawking at the bustling entrance. As they entered deeper into the city they were met with otherworldly buildings (by Mundo standards) from mansions to small houses.

What made it more lavish and far more different than what they had seen thus far were the presence of dome-like roofs, pillars, as well as arches in each building of varying purposes.

Unlike the kingdoms they had visited where the further you go in, more establishments would be owned by nobles, in the republic, there was no such obvious segregation.

It was even easy to see manors that resembled a noble's in the outskirts of the country. Likewise, you could see shabby houses near the castle where the remaining nobles remained.

And although the king's home was still the largest estate, it paled in comparison to other countries. However, the house of voice where the parliaments discussed were as progressive as it could be.

It was a medium sized building but its appearance exuded beauty from its symmetry, expensive sand colored walls, and ornaments adorning the manor's entrance. Trees that were well maintained were also placed in every corner of its road.

And unlike the castle where its only beauty came from its relic-decorated appearance, the house of voice resembled a modern government building from Earth but with the colors of the desert.

Rather, in Naell's eyes, they were more like structures from the renaissance. Further, he felt that out of the three countries he had visited prior, the Republic seemed to be the most unbound from tradition in aesthetics.

"The Kingdom of Awdita that boasts the beauty of nature, the Autumn Kingdom that is known for its history, and now the Republic…" Murmured Naell.

When Owly heard his thoughts, he decided to butt in as he whispered, "The country of the future, HOOT."

Soon they eventually found an inn to stay at, but before they could even go inside, a knight that seemed to have been waiting for them blocked their path.

"Good day young master Naell." A stern yet feminine voice from behind the helm stated.

"...My master invited you and your companion, the owl, to his estate." Said the knight signaling him to go inside the carriage.

Naell immediately knew that the knight before him was quite formidable. She was clad in semi complete armor— chainmail covered her upper torso whilst the silver plated armor and boots completely covered her waist down.

The helm she wore gleamed in regality even as it concealed most of her face, yet one could still see her calm yet piercing gaze. That alone made Naell presume she was also able to gauge the duo's mana and aura.

Yet in addition, under her dignified poise, the duo felt her well-hidden aura. Her deep brown eyes were filled with experience and strength akin to that of a named martial artist.

And seeing no reason to not accept, Naell decided to go inside. As he sat inside the carriage with Owly, the lady knight followed and sat across them.

That was when the vehicle moved and when Naell said, "I never got your name."

The knight was taken aback, nevertheless she smiled and bowed slightly as she replied, "Forgive me, I was just..not used to giving my name towards nobles."

Naell didn't understand why and just kept a straight face. Owly only sighed knowing his smart yet dumb friend didn't know the reason

Yet in truth, neither of them really knew the reason for her response. Owly at first thought it was because nobles tend to not acknowledge anyone present besides nobility like them.

Or perhaps because knights might not be used to such treatment. On the other hand, Naell really couldn't find any reason and was completely clueless.

It was upon hearing her name that they finally understood the knight's reactions. They had both forgotten that in the Country of Summer resided a powerful martial artist.

"I'm Arawa Morning, knight to the Republic's Royal Family of Summer."

The lady knight was afterall known as one of strongest women of Mundo, The Sunrise of the Republic, also known as First Strike, Arawa Morning.

From the curious gaze and passing murmurs, Naell could only silently nod and smile awkwardly.
