Chapter 159 - Chapter 143

In the end, Ipar decided to retreat, yet not without a parting gift for Naell and the elves. As soon as he relayed his intention towards his companions, the monsters cowering under Naell's mana grew frantic for unknown reasons.

"Tis your win young master Naell." Said Ipar as they vanished into his dark magic with a deep mystical fog enveloping them.

Naell didn't try to stop them knowing he was already at his limit. Still, he couldn't relax as the monsters acting suspiciously made him warier.

And alas, as the trio disappeared completely, Naell clearly heard the rest of Ipar's parting words, "Do your best to survive."

Out of the depths of the darkened fog, a monster resembling the shadow of a man arose from the sea. Momentarily, the waves too concealed him, until its bloodshot eyes that were similar to Naell's appeared.

With it was a chaotic aura that completely overthew Naell's petrification. Monsters altogether screeched and trembled. The awakened ones kneeled before the creature's presence.

Even Naell felt fear far greater than with the awakened wrmy and necromancer long before. Although he felt that way towards Reyna, the rook, and the one who called himself the priest of Lucile, none of those had reached a point where his whole body was screaming for him to retreat.

It felt as though that creature's only existence was to kill, and soon enough his hunch was right as it smirked before him and began slaughtering monsters that stood in its way to taste their blood.

'Grotesque' was the only way Naell could describe what he was seeing; the monster's mouth was filled with sharp pointed teeth, with those protruding from its jaws reaching up to its ears.

Its muscular body began swelling as it clawed off the heads of its own supposed kin, drinking and draining the blood from each of them with no ounce of remorse.

Naell felt sick to his stomach, wanting to look away yet unable to as the creature could come after him within a second of carelessness. It didn't help that the monster seemed to be eyeing him as though it looked forward to seeing what move he would take.

After a minute of devouring its allies, the monster whose skin were the colors of a murky sea, finally stopped amid its own field of corpses.

Seeming to have sated his hunger momentarily, it eerily spoke towards Naell, "Your...blood I crave...mage."

The other monsters that were spared, ran and fled from the shore, an ear piercing trill accompanied all of them as they went. It was apparent that retreat was now their only option of survival.

Similarly for Naell, he telepathically relayed to tell everyone to retreat and call for the Green Witch.

Yet before Sead could even react to his message, upon seeing the monster that was infront of Naell, not only was he unable to speak, his knees had given up from fear.

The elven knights understood as they could also feel the monstrosity. However, they wondered why Sead appeared more scared of the monster than the pieces of Lucile. Some even lightly celebrated the scenario.

As they thought their problems lessened, that was when Sead stared daggers at them and stated shakily, "You don't understand!"

That momentarily stunned all the elven knights. He then added, "That monster... in the sea he was called the end— Leviathan."

Apart from Naell who only knew of the legends and accounts of books he had read, most of the elves present knew who Leviathan was.

Known as the king of the sea, together with the ancient kings like the demon king, he was a legendary monster that was gravely ill reputed.

Although not all kings were evil like the two, between them, Leviathan was far less famous. This was partly due to how most of his massacres involved only a portion of the sea, and how he was also uninterested in conquering lands unlike the demon king.

Even so, it was understood that the center of Mundo was its territory, as such no travels there had been known to occur, lest one had a death wish.

Now, whilst the origin of numerous grim stories stood infront of them, the silence permeating the air allowed the monster's laugh to ring more clearly.

It then grinned and stretched its mouth before it spoke, "I am amazed...that the likes of your unnutritious kind know of me."

While its eyes were eyeing the [ ice palace ], all of those within it still shivered regardless of their relative safety.

He then added, jerking his head and breathing oddly as he spoke, "I suppose your numbers would suffice my hunger, as I will eat my frozen dessert last."
