Chapter 143 - Chapter 129

As the discussion came to a bitter end (regardless of Owly's cheering), all of them felt uneasy yet hid it with their calm demeanor.

Such was especially the case for Naell who had no idea why he was there of all people. He had assumed it was simply because he was always expected to accompany Owly.

Yet now, he had heard a dreadful report that couldn't be shared with just about anyone- thus he felt he was dragged into getting involved.

While all of them were busy with their own thoughts, Lesjon Star, who was silent, began sighing loudly and caught everyone's attention in the process. Just like his cousin, he had no idea why he was there.

For Lesjon, before the events had taken place it was just a fine morning as usual for the young master of Star. He was about to get ready for his trip to the dungeon where he would be assisting Rumi.

Yet in the midst of his preparation, he was called upon by his grandfather to go with an elf he had never even seen once in his life.

Now he had learned about something beyond anything he could imagine. Guardians, a group that represented the Celestials- and it seems he had some sort of connection with them.

Therefore, he decided that it was best to question the guardian of Speed, "What is my connection with the discussion we just had?"

Naell favorably welcomed his cousin's inquiry as he had the same lingering worries.

Wilfred was shocked momentarily before saying, "I see, so your grandfather didn't tell you."

Wilfred also looked in Owly and Naell's direction before asking, "What about you two, do you know why you were summoned?"

In response, both said no to which the elf nodded. He then added while saying to Owly, "Strange, I thought your mo— she would have told you."

Owly replied calmly, "She didn't, HOOT."

Wilfred could only smile and say, "I see."

He then asked Naell, "What about you, has your teacher told you anything about the responsibilities of a pupil?"

"Umm, my teacher? Elder- Sebastian Claus?"

"..."

Wilfred sighed and it was noticeable he was annoyed. He then replied to Naell, "Not Mr. Claus. It seems even now, that damn fairy is as irresponsible as ever."

Naell's eyes widened. He felt nervous hearing the word fairy as he thought, 'There's no way.'

On the other hand, Wilfred sighed once more, and straightened his posture, he then began explaining, "Pupils are of course the students of the Guardians...

Sajae Ignis adopted son, and student of the Guardian of strength, Ignis.

Drhys Racule, student of the Guardian of will, Persea.

Klata Wigence- adopted daughter and student of the Guardian of vitality, Wisdell Wigence."

The others could more or less understand that the trio (Klata, Sajae and Drhys) were well aware of their apprenticeship.

Out of all of them, they were the only ones that weren't really surprised by what was happening afterall.

It was also helpful that Wilfred explained what the pupils even were. He then continued as he turned to Owly and said, "The son, and student of Athena, the Guardian of wisdom,"

That wasn't a surprise anymore as Naell and the others could understand why Owly would be Athena's pupil.

Likewise with Rizaul when his dad said, "Rizaul, my son, one of the reasons why I also left you in the care of the Beryldots was because I couldn't put the one who would inherit my guardianship in danger."

The half-elf could only nod and signal his father to continue. Others also understood, especially knowing that Wilfred's task was by far the most dangerous among the guardians.

After that, it was Lesjon and Naell's turn. Both gulped in anticipation yet while one was excited, the other was screaming to himself that there was no way he was a pupil.

'That golden fairy is no guardian, and she didn't give me any papers to sign claiming she's my teacher. I can still sue!' In turmoil, Naell thought.

Wilfred then spoke, making one smile and the other almost faint, "Lesjon Star, grandson and student of the Guardian of luck, Metero Star, the Celestial Wizard...

And as for you, Naell Beryldot, student of Sampua Faerie, The Guardian of charm."

"..."

Lesjon was the one who spoke first from the silence that had begotten the room. He was smirking before uttering to himself, "I see, old man. I see."

He then added on while trying to hold his chuckle in front of Naell. "Pfft... Charm... It suits you very well cousin..."

"..."

Owly was impressed with Lesjon. Even he at that moment pitied Naell to the point that he didn't want to start any banter with his almost unconscious friend.

Likewise, everyone in the room couldn't utter anything. For one, the title of the Guardian of charm had a long history that was well known in Mundo.

Dating back to the first Guardians, there were stories that elves had always been the ones who inherited that title.

It was afterall bestowed to those who had power and looks that could rival the Celestials'. Yet since most would consider that title as unofficial and not truly part of the guardians, it was often told as a fable.

As for Naell however, he had no idea of that. What he was concerned with was how he became a pupil in the first place.

Therefore after much silence, he didn't waiver any longer as he said to Wilfred. "I'm afraid you have the wrong man, I only had a small encounter with that fairy."

"... Well, aside from anyone, she was the only Guardian who I haven't really met these days. Yet she spoke of you when we had our meeting and I don't doubt her words."

Wilfred was actually pitying Naell. It seemed that the fairy didn't even pick someone who would like to be her pupil.

Yet she had always been like this; reckless like the Guardian of vitality, uncontrollable like the Guardian of strength, and far more unpredictable than any of them.

That was why when she told them she decided on a pupil, everyone was just glad.

"If you have doubts, rather if anyone doubts their legitimacy.." As Wilfred said that, he [ poof ] rings and gave them to Lesjon, Naell, Rizaul, and Owly.

He then added, "Pour some aura or mana onto the ring, a light should emit from your hand or forehead with a sigil. This is proof that you are a pupil or in my case, a Guardian."

As he poured in his aura, a big letter S symbol was then marked on his hand, others also did the same excluding Klata who was fidgeting.

Sajae and Drhys showed their hand with the symbol of the small letters str and w onto their hands, respectively.

"As pupils, we will have this, while as you can see our masters or guardians will have a large letter on their hand." Said Sajae.

Lesjon, Naell, Rizaul, and Owly nodded. They then wore the rings on their fingers, and as they poured in their power, the symbols were then shown onto their hands.

All of them excluding the young owl, who now had the small letters wsd short for Wisdom on his forehead.

"Fascinating." Said Lesjon as a small letter l was now shining on his palm.

As for Naell, he could only sigh as he accepted his fate, seeing the now unmistakable glow of light from his skin.
