"You're such an idiot." Jaiden said over the phone.
"I know, I know. I don't know what I was thinking." Responded Christa, groaning. Although she didn't show it, Christa knew exactly what she had been thinking about. She just wanted a quick escape from Shay, and Bella had given it to her. Not knowing what Shay would do next was horrifying, and she would much rather get out of there quickly than wait it out. Shay would surely try something worse the next time, and Christa didn't want to know what it was. "I know it all just seems like a bad idea."
"You know it!" Exclaimed Jaiden half joking, "And you signed a contract right? Doesn't that mean that you can't leave unless you pay a butt load of cash?"
"Yes it does, I know." Christa sighed, "Geez this is annoying."
"And you gave her your address! You don't even know all the things they could find out using just that information!" He sighed, "How long are you obligated to stay there?"
"Umm... a year." Whispered Christa shyly.
"You've got to be kidding me! How the heck could you agree to something so stupid for such a long time?" Jaiden said, clearly bothered, "Can you at least tell me who this mystery person is?"
"Actually," began Christa, "I can't. In the contract it says that I have to keep their identity private."
"Oh, so now you read it?" Jaiden wore the expression of a disappointed parent.
"Hey, hey, don't get mad at me now! Anyways, there's was a part of the contract that basically sealed the deal for me." Christa lied, "I'm not supposed to tell you about it, but if you're interested I can-"
"I get the point, can you just tell me already. I have to go." Said an impatient Jaiden.
"I don't have to pay any rent." Not wanting to hear what Jaiden had to say about this, Christa wrapped up the conversation, "Okay bye!"
"Hey hold on one second don't you know how susp-" Christa hung up and sighed. She looked around her room before she began to pack. She decided that she would only bring necessities, and maybe a few novelty items. She carefully packed all of her stuff into large cardboard boxes, and about an hour later, she finished up. She pulled out her phone to text Bella,
I finished packing up! U can send over the movers whenever u want.
Bella responded within a few minutes,
I'll send them over in a bit, I'll see you soon!
Christa gathered the boxes in a corner and waited. The movers arrived about twenty minutes later. The team consisted of several tall men with broad shoulders. Christa showed them into her room before saying goodbye to her mother.
"I'll miss you so much!" She reached in for a hug and Christa accepted her embrace.
"I'll miss you too..." Christa walked over to her car.
"Don't be a stranger, okay?"
"I won't, I promise!" Christa shut the car door behind her, and started the engine. As she drove off, she could see her mother waving at her through the rear view mirror. She drove in silence all the way to the apartment complex she would now call home and got out of the car. She looked up at the top floor, "Okay, let's do this." She said, before walking through the door.
