Liam approached the bed and gently sat down.
"Cess, it's mommy."
The sob turned silent.
"It's okay to cry. Mommy will stay with you. But can you look at Mommy after you cry? Mommy wants to hug you."
There was a short silence in the room.
Liam patiently waited.
Soon, Cess crawled out of the blanket. She hugged Liam's waist and buried her little face on her mother's stomach. The little girl's tears wetted Liam's shirt.
Liam's heart felt like it was stabbed with countless needles as she felt the child's warm tears.
"Why is Cess crying? Can you let Mommy know?"
"Mommy... Do you hate me?"
"Of course not. How can I hate an adorable child like you?"
Cess hugged her mother tightly, inhaling her mother's fragrant scent.
"Then... Does brother hate me?" Her waxy voice broke.
