Liam's soft voice was warm.
Lei finally looked up.
Seeing the warmth in his Mommy's eyes, Lei opened his mouth.
"I... I only got perfect scores on two subjects."
Liam: "???"
The little boy's mouth was pursed. "I'm not good as Cess. Cess is young and I am older. I am his older brother but I only got perfect scores on two exams. My older brother is the same as Cess. They both got A's on all of their subjects. I only got two A's. I am not smart as them."
Lei lowered his eyes again and drooped his head. He was afraid that his mommy would not like him because he was not smart.
"...." Liam felt distressed. "That's why you crumpled your test papers?"
Lei bit his cherry lips again.
Liam reached out to pat the boy's head and slowly hugged him. She rubbed her cheeks on the boy's soft curls.
