Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Shall I cast a magic spell on you, then?"

Cloaked by the warm rays of twilight, his figure illuminates a sense of mellowness that solaces me. All I can do at that moment is gaze at this compellingly beauteous facet of his - one that's often made inconpicuous by his reserved persona. He's usually not this expressive, yet for some reason, he suddenly starts speaking eloquently.

"What's with that look? You don't believe in magic?"

Then, I chuckle.

"It depends. There are many kinds of magic. Which one are you referring to?" I asked, propping my chin over my palm as I stare at him with amusement.

It's meant to turn out as a passing comment. I only wanted to play along, but then, he just has to rack my brain with thoughtless ideas again when he scoots closer and leans towards me all of the sudden, our noses almost touching.

"A magic that'll make your dreams come true," he mumbled, voice low and smoky.

With such a small gap between us, I can smell his cool water fragrance that gently wafts to my nostrils like some kind of a bewitching potion. It makes quite a good pair with his ambiguous aura, which perfectly accentuates his intellect apparel and mysterious vibes.

"If there's indeed one, I would've already used it ages ago," I managed to retort despite the weird tingles running down my body.

If he acts this way any longer, I'm afraid I might get misled and come up with a wrong assumption - for the hundredth time, that is.

"This one's special, though. I'll be the one casting the magic. Don't you want to find your passion?"

Again, I chuckle at him.

As soon as he dropped those words, I figured out that he's just saying these to comfort me after all those ravaging mischiefs and futile do-overs I've gotten myself into. He has really become my living diary by now. He knows what I'm going through since I always confide in him. Even so, I didn't expect him to be the type to treat magic as a consoling concept. He turns out to be more peculiar than me, it seems.

My train of thoughts then abruptly halted when I suddenly feel his soft, warm lips land on my forehead.

"H-Hey, what are you-?"

Flustered and taken aback, I can only flail my hands around, cheeks tinged with a faint pink. It feels like I'm being caressed by a gentle gust of the summer wind - a heartwarming feeling and exhilarating sensation. The contact seems to be just as fleeting as this encounter, lasting for a brief moment before he finally backs away. Then, he beams at me with a dazzling smile that rivals the sun, his unclouded irises gleaming like rare jewels.

"May all your dreams come true, Lily. I'll be cheering for you..."
