Perhaps, I did the curtsy wrong or have unknowingly stooped too low that my obliviousness as a commoner was seeping through. Rebecca just starts staring at me intently for some reason. We're exchanging looks at this point until her eyes suddenly dart down to my divided skirt.
"Rebecca, did your father come home with you?" Collette chimed in, breaking the sprawling quietude.
"Yes, Mother. We returned together after the knights' training," Rebecca answered, making my eyes widen in surprise.
That probably explains why she's carrying a sword with her. In this empire, there's a number of noble houses that bears the honor of edifying excellent knights for the imperial family. The most outstanding ones among these hordes are the "Caereleus Knights" of the Duke's family and the "Wisterian Knights" of a certain Marquess's. Judging by the azure emblem on her sword, it seems like she's affiliated with the former.
