While Lillian was already surprised beyond belief the moment she saw Tristan and that young woman, she's even more taken aback when he suddenly grabbed her and almost begged her to stay.
He appears distraught and a tad bit regretful for reasons that she has a vague idea of. But at the same time, he seems to be firmly holding his ground, determined to make her listen and explain himself, which is something she thinks can just go without saying.
All she can return at that moment is a baffled expression, though. She didn't expect that he'd go all through this trouble to explain something that she already understood.
