Flash back...
Ariena had met Evan in the first year of her high school, when she was stuck in a very miserable situation. She was so grateful for him that he stopped by and offered to help her not like other who were just watching her pitiful shape.
Just thinking about that unfateful day spreads a chill throughout her body.
That day she becomes the target of campus belle Gracie, who has accused her for being a third wheeler and seducing her boyfriend. She was really harsh on bullying her. Gracie had asked her fellow classmates, who followed her all the time like a serf, to pour ice cold water on Ariena.
It was the chilliest day of the season and Ariena was drained from head to toe. She was shivering tremendously from the cold breeze that was hitting her already cold and wet body.
But the other students which were gathered there like a spectator, were laughing and whispering at her disgraceful figure with a look of disdain in their eyes.
It was then that the claimed boyfriend of campus belly appeared with one hand in the pocket of his pants, in the assembly walking elegantly in his neatly dressed school uniform with School President batch on it .
"What's happening there..?Why are everyone gathered here..?" asked the boy as he got nearer to the crowd.
"Oh look....it's school president,he is so handsome" said the one of the girl in excitement.
"Ah how I wish that he was my boyfriend."said another one while exhaling the air out.
"It is a sight to hold on ,he is so hot and cool when he is practicing in the basket ball court....I love watching his perfect body ..."said one of the girls in a dreaming state, standing near Gracie ,her comment rewarded her with a deadly glare from Gracie.
"Yes yes... I have seen him yesterday and I literally prayed to God that match didn't finish any time soon , hehehe....."giggled the girl with a high pony.
The atmosphere suddenly turn from dark to bubbly one. Everyone forgot about the pityful girl standing all wet and trembling with cold in the center, instead they focused their attention on the school president appearence.
He look over to the girl in center and asked in a surprised tone , "What's this..? " he moved towards her and continued, "Who do this to you..?"
Gracie walked to him and swiftly tried to hold his arms while answering him with a smirk, "This is nothing to do with you Evan ,she was crossing the line by targeting you and I have to show her place, the sooner the better."
Evan immediately removed her hand from his arms and asked in confusion,"Targeting me..?"
"Yes,she thinks that she can replace me, and be with you,so dumb of her...", said Gracie with pride fill face.
"Replace you... as if replace you being my friend I didn't get it...? "said Evan with confused look, then turning to Ariena to get an answer.
"Evan.... how could you say that I'm just your friend, I'm the girl who you will accompany to the prom night, you agreed to my confession, I thought we are a thing now...."Gracie said in surprised tone with a hurt look.
"What..."Evan sounded shocked ,"Gracie, hold on, I agreed to go with you to the prom just to give you some face ,as Liam told me that everyone is pressurizing you and also because our family are friends, it's nothing beyond that okay... And I can definitely say that we are not in any kind of relationship,we are not a "thing" for your information."
He moved away from Gracie angered by her words and said, "Please don't misinterpret my generosity towards you ... Okay..... , to make it more clear to you and all the others present here I want to say that I'm not in any kind relationship with anyone, I'm very much single..."
He turned to the crowd and said in a cold tone ,"No one is allowed to bully any person in this school ,at least not until I'm the school president understand...." then he turned to Gracie his facial expressions became more frigid and said in a monotonous tone ,"Sorry but I have to decline your offer to go to the prom school belle..."
After saying his word he turned and walked towards Ariena and said, "You better go and change yourself before you catch cold ." turning to the crowd he said, "And you all go get doing what you were doing , the show is over."

When Ariena came out of girls changing room in her sports wear she was surprised to find that Evan was standing there, with his back towards the door surfing in his cellphone. She paused a bit in her track and thought to thank him for saving her for the deadly situation.
She moved towards him and said, "Thank you so much president for all you do for me and sorry that you got involved in it.."
Evan turned to face her and said, "No it should be me who should say sorry to you, I'm sorry... by the way can I ask you how you got entangled with all this...?"
Ariena looked at him in an apologizing manner, "Oh it was nothing but a joke when I said to my friends that I have proposed you and you are going with me in the prom, I didn't know that someone would spy on our conversation and spread the gossip and it will turn out that bad... Sorry.."
Evan looked at the little girl with a smile and said, "You are not here to be blamed here because it was just a joke, it's the person who spread this nonsense ... please forget all this and return to your class as classes are soon to start... "he turned to move away from her but stop after few steps, turning to her he said, " If you have any difficulty in the future remember to come to me first ...." he waited for her to answer to which she replied with a nod.
After awhile he added, "Can we be friends..?" with a mesmerizing smile on his face. Ariena was really grateful to him she accepted his offer without a second of doubt in her mind. She replied cheerfully by extending her hand for a shake, "Friends... it's pleasant meeting you...." He accepted her hand and returned to his class.
After that they meet occasionally at the school committee meetings as Ariena was a smart girl who joined the committee because of her outstanding academic records. They also have some outdoor meeting as a get-together and to celebrate birthdays and other important occasions of their common friends.
As the time pass on Ariena also didn't noticed when she started calling him 'Brother' instead of ' Senior'..
Soon they came so close to each other without their knowing that often people gossiped about them on their back .But that doesn't affect their friendship...
It was most wonderful time of her life , the time she spend under his protection.....
