Chapter 16 - Light And Laura

In the cozy place at Pixiestail room. Up the spiral staircase, dorm no.1, three friends were deeply in their individual slumbers in their individual bedrooms.

Patricia Hayes was sleeping above the cold dark night. Luckily, their room was cozy and there ain't to be a problem with weathers. The table clock strikes 12 and Dorm one's door was left ajar. Peteriona must have locked it yesternight or maybe it was open by someone with an unknown intention.

The door creaks as it was wholly open. Suddenly, the room was filled with coldness and darkness. Peteriona was fast asleep and so does Pariana. Patricia wasn't awake either, she was dreaming, being in the ruin castle alone.

A black shadow walked in the dorm, heading towards Patricia's bedroom. What an eerie scene it is, the shadow was holding a knife. The shadow slowly move closer towards the sleeping Patricia. Meanwhile Patricia found herself with a black shadow just like the one in her room, with a knife of course in the ruin castle.

As the shadow in her room moved closer to Patricia. The shadow in her dream also moved closer to Pat. It happened at the same time. Both shadows stabbed Patricia's heart. Patricia screamed in agony, her voice filled the Dorm one, having Peteriona and Pariana left their slumber.

Both Roses went to Patricia's bedroom and found their best friend lying there in her bed with her hands on her head. Patricia open her eyes being engulfed by a light hug by the light and so her vision come into focus and she saw Pariana and Peteriona with their worried faces.

"What happened?" The roses questioned.

"I----" Patricia stammered and felt strangely very light. Like everything was light.  And all the darkness have faded and heavy weights were lifted and everything was light.

"I'm feeling very light." Patricia found the right words.

"I don't get you." Peteriona muttered and bunked in Patricia's big bed.

"I agree with Pete." Pariana stated and she did the same.

Patricia told them about her dream and the strange sensation flowing within her. She felt like she was free and the two roses, being protected, insisted to sleep beside her.

The three waked up together in Patricia's bed. They dressed up for Tuesday and went down the spiral staircase. They met the others there, the Juniors and Seniors with their Pixiestail robes. All of them left the room and headed down the golden stairway. Peteriona was talking with Yang, Blake, and Mae about Anime, she thought it was cool. Meanwhile, Pariana was with Jen and Jan talking about fashion.

Patricia was chatting with Kylee, Cana, Thinker, Caren and Jade about cooking. Patricia's pale visage have lighten up since the incident, she became quite friendly when she opened herself with the other first years in Pixiestail.

After there breakfast without the mistress but with the Professors in the Easterian Hall. They went back to their room still chatting with their new Squad. The Pixies squad!

Members were Cana, Kylee, Ellah,

Blake, Yang, Girlie Mae, Jade, Caren, Jen, Jan, Pat, Pete and Par.

Felices, the prefect, was fond to know that the first years were getting along very well. The Juniors and Seniors were also getting along in the Pixiestail room.

"Hey hey, good news!

Lila, Lily, and Lina have dropped out!" Yang exclaimed and the Squad was chattering about this, but many were happy including Par and Pete since their stay in Clairemont will now be peaceful, if Only Jake Thompson would also dropped out.

"Why sad Pat?" Peteriona asked Patricia.

"I'm not sad." Patricia responded and smiled.

"Did you happen to grow affection to the three?" Peteriona asked again with a smirk in her face.

"Hell no!" Patricia said coolly.

"Right!" Peteriona chuckled.

They ate lunch before their usual lunch time since they have noon to afternoon classes with Mr. Corry, Ms. Annalie, and Ms. Therapetheia.

Their noon class with Mr. Corry Samuel, the Defence against the dark arts teacher was filled with writing spells they'll be needing for defence of course.

The three lads with their squad were there in quills and Parchments, copying Mr. Corry's notes in the board.

Some of the spells were; Protego Horribilis, Protego Maxima, Protego Totalus, Riddikulus, Expecto Patronum, Immobulos,...

Some spells were on the list of spells given by Ms. Taylor and some are not. Mr. Corry didn't wrote this on the board, he just flick his wands and the spells then appeared. The students wished they could bewitched their quills to write automatically since they are writing non stop every 'D.A.D.A' subject time.

Finally, the bell rang and they were off to their next class, History of Clairemont School of Wizards by Ms. Annalie Breiward.

The three lad went to the seats in the back with their squad. Still, the three were sitting beside each other. Ms. Annalie, the History Professor, appeared in the doorway carrying the 'History of Clairemont and Beyond' by Jenna Lockhart.

"Good morning students, so now we're going to learn the part 2 history of our beloved school." Ms. Annalie initiated. Patricia could feel the boringness in the air. History is a bit boring, she thought. Reading and Explaining, no exciting activities at all. But this was better than non-stop writing for 2 hours.

"Clairemont School of Wizards was built on 1885 in the very heart of the town of Alandrea.

Clarita Victoria Roswalth, a guardian of light,--- David Magus, a dark magi,--- Thomas Romulos Johnson, a dark magi,--- Helena Isabelle Creuzione Beta, a guardian of light were the four ancient Magis' who founded the institution. Pixiestail was Victoria's house, Isabelle's house was Mantranscein, Romulos was Wentriworth, and David was Blandestine. Each of them have gave protection for the school since now. There powers were the strong foundation of the institution. No enemies can break through or those with evil intentions for the school is protected with strong chants and spells by the Magis'." Ms. Annalie stated.

"Professor, please." Pariana raised a hand and Ms. Annalie beckoned her to go on.

"There are wizards that are immortal and there are not. Can you give us an explanation to this, professor?" Pariana asked hopefully.

"I'm sorry Ms. Rose but we're not there yet. I am strongly following the guide plans for teaching my students. And that topic is in 3rd year my dear." Said Ms. Annalie and Pariana sated.

"Why did you asked her, I thought we're going to make a research?" Peteriona whispered.

"What happened to the Magis' now, Professor?" Yang XiaoLong asked.

"Yes professor, what happened to them?" Kylee Quinn repeated.

"We're not." Pariana mumbled, feeling a bit mad since her question was not answered.

"Well, some are alive and some are dead." Ms. Annalie answered and forced a smile.

"How did you know professor, did you actually meet them?" Peteriona asked.

"Were they magical just like the mistress?" Blake added.

"Okay calm down, well that's a bit interesting that all of you are participating very well. 10 points for Pixiestail then." Said Ms. Annalie

"So about the 'did I actually meet them', I did not. And yes of course, they're expected to be magical. And do you know, the Mistress is a descendant herself?" Asked Ms. Annalie. No one speaked.

"Who's her ancestor then?" Patricia spoked as she was interested in knowing this.

"I believe you know Ms. Hayes?" Ms. Annalie replied.

"But I don't." Said Patricia.

"Laura Clara Roswalth, the daughter of Clarita Victoria Roswalth. The Mistress' name is Laura." Ms. Annalie answered.

Patricia felt a tingling sensation from the inside of her. She felt like somehow, Laura and her were connected. But then, why?

"And there's more. Laura is---" she cut off and said,

"I better not tell you about it." Ms. Annalie snapped.

The girls groaned in annoyance.

'Ms. Annalie was about to reveal something about the Mistress', Patricia thought. Patricia seems very eager to know about Laura and the only person she knows who could really help her was Ms. Taylor, the deputy headmistress.

"Let us continue." Ms. Annalie started discussing again.

Minutes have passed and the bell rang. Next is Herbology for 3:00-4:00, Kylee's favourite subject.

The three lads walked out of the room with their squad. They were talking nonstop in the corridor about the Mistress.

"I admire her very much. She's very stylish and very gorgeous." Said Leah Jean.

"Yeah, with her curly blonde hair. She's amazing." Said Jan 'Freyah'

"I only like her cause she's mysterious." Said Blake Johnson in a bit misty voice.

"Well, she's very beautiful apart from the mysterious thingy Blake." Yang XiaoLong retaliated.

"How about you Girlie?" Yang XiaoLong asked.

"She's great." Girlie answered.

"She's greater than great." Thinker muttered.

"Did you said 'great', like me?" Aimee teases

"Shut it, Aimee. I believe the mistress is taller than you." Carhene spoked.

"I'm only joking, okay? Whatever." Aimee retorted.

"What's the big deal about the mistress anyway." Peteriona spoked.

"Well she is the mistress. She's always a big deal." Pariana answered thoughtfully. Peteriona glared at her feeling taken by a sarcasm. Patricia noticed the sudden change of atmosphere between Par and Pete meaning another round of blabbering is coming.

"Shut it, you two." Said Patricia as Peteriona was about to argue back.

"What about you, Pat. The mistress isn't a big deal, right?" Peteriona asked, pleading Patricia to side her.

"W-well." Patricia stammered. She thought she have enough lying with Peteriona and so she answered Pete truthfully.

"Actually, Pete and Par---" Patricia moved closer to Peteriona and Pariana.

"I think Laura and I are somehow connected. Like that." Patricia whispered.

"Wait, seriously?" Peteriona reacted.

"Yes." Patricia answered.

"Why do you reckon?" Pariana asked.

"I don't know. It just hit me. The name 'Laura' and Clarita. They're somehow making me feel like I'm one of them." Patricia answered.

Pariana mouthed 'o' and Peteriona looked at Pat in surprise.

"A guardian of light then." Said Peteriona.

"No way, she's not------

Patricia do you think you're a guardian of light?" Pariana asked

"I don't even know what a 'guardian of light' means." Said Patricia.

"Well it's like a magi of the light. You know-- wait you said you were feeling very light?" Pariana asked.

"Umm yeah?" Patricia answered.

"Wait, wait. Calm down guys.. the question is why a shadow. You saw it Patricia, right?" Peteriona asked this time.

"Yes. A black shadow, holding a knife." Patricia answered.

Before they could talk again. The three of them noticed that they were standing in the doorway of Ms. Theraptheia's classroom. And so, they proceeded to go inside. One thing in Patricia's mind right now. 'Go and ask Ms. Taylor later'.
