I awoke in the medical ward. My body ached but it seemed my cuts and broken bones had mostly been healed, sitting up I noticed Cynthia asleep next to me. A healers apprentice came into the room, seeing that I was awake she rushed to my side. "Young lord! Your awake, do you need anything?" She asked nervously.
"I'm going to need you to be a little quieter so you don't wake my little sister." I replied in a quite tone, a smile on my face.
I eased out of bed and grabbed the fresh clothes that had been brought for me, just a long sleeve blue shirt with black pants, I dressed getting ready to leave. "I don't think you should be out of bed young lord." The apprentice girl said in a quite and nervous voice.
I smiled at her politely before turning and leaving the room without a word, she followed after me trying to convince me to go back to bed. After awhile she jumped in front of me and punched my gut saying. "I said stop!"
I almost laughed at this tiny human but I kept my composure. "Its rude to strike an injured person you know." I said looking down at her.
"Well it's even more rude to not listen to a medical professional when she says you need rest." She stomped.
"Look I'm just trying to find my friends Dracen and Brazen have you seen them miss medical professional?" I asked seriously.
"Matter of factly I have. Follow me." She skipped off down the hall.
She lead me to another part of the medical ward. Where the severely injured were taken care of. This is where warriors came to die.
Entering Dracen's room was like walking into a nightmare. Both his legs were being kept straight by wooden planks with cloth wrapped tightly around them. His left arm looked mangled and deformed, the medical information said it was crushed.
Sixty percent of his body was burned severely, apparently the silver haired man was a shade user. Dracen took several lightening strikes during the fight and now he was suffering the repercussions, wrapped head to toe in herbal cloth to heal the burns he was a sight. Beaten, broken and unconscious in the medic room bed I knew one thing.
This would not be tolerated and the Raiken clan had to be put in their place.
I was going to put an end to this war.
I left Dracen's room to go find my father. A battle plan needed to be made.
Entering into the battle chamber I was met with the eyes of every prominent warrior and council member in the clan. "So. What's being done about this?" I questioned, scanning the room for my father.
Not finding him I asked the second question. "Where is the king?"
Averting their eyes no one said anything. Until an elder member of the council, known as Shillyn, stepped up saying. "He was feeling under the weather young lord, he retired to his chambers for the evening." Nodding my acknowledgement to what he said I stepped up to the head of the table.
"Then let us begin planning the retaliation of this surprise attack." I said meeting the eyes of everyone in the room.
No one seemed to have a problem with me taking control, so with no other delays we began.
After the war meeting was over I went to my father chambers to see how he was feeling and let him know how the meeting went and what the plans were.
Walking into his chambers I found him at his large desk with a map of the territories open in front of him. Looking up and seeing me he stood, a smile on his face, saying, "Elias my son you've woken." Crossing the room he embraced me tightly.
Stepping back from the embrace he added, "you look good, how are you feeling?"
I shrugged, "I feel fine. A few aches but nothing to bad." I said rolling my shoulders.
"I wanted to tell you that the council and I have started the preparations for the upcoming battle." I stated getting straight to the point.
Walking back to his desk he took a seat. "Let's hear it then." He gave a small cough after saying this.
"We're planning a raid on the beast clan. They're in the middle of a power change after their former lord died and the man claiming power is talking of siding with the raiken clan. So we will attack them kill the new lord and place one of our allies in command." I laid out the plan confidently.
My father thought about it for a moment than began with, "what if the citizens don't accept our replacement?" He questioned eyebrows raised. After another moment of thought he added, "and what of the young lord? He should be the one to take power. I knew Roaran, I was close with him, so where's his son Lorkin Beastial?"
I didn't have any idea what he was talking about, I couldn't remember a single time my father had even mentioned the Beastial clan leader much less be close friends with him.
"The citizens won't be a problem, our Intel tells us the clan is on the verge of mutiny. They resent the new leader and want nothing to do with him. As for the young lord I didn't know Roaran had a son but I'll have it checked out before we launch the attack." I said rubbing my chin as I thought of solutions to the problems he had questioned.
"Well? Is there anything I'm missing?" I asked running my fingers through my hair.
"Yes, but we can discuss it at a later time right now I just wish to talk with my son about the resent things going on in his life." He said with a smile and another small cough.
"So tell me, any girls you're interested in?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.
Laughing I gave a small smile but, before I could reply a servant burst into the room, "young lord, Dracen is awake." She said.
I rushed to his side, only taking a few minutes to reach him, finding him in much the same state as last time. Only now he had an eye open.
I could tell he was in great pain, even though he was trying to hide it, "what's up man?" It was all I could think to say. He just grunted trying to smile. I knelt beside him, looking him in the eyes, "they won't get away with this." I told him as he stared back at me, "I will make that bastard pay for this I promise." That was all we had time for as the medic gave him powerful herbs that put him to sleep, I left him making my way to my indoor training room. I needed to be stronger.
