Ella's brows knitted together. "Dancing to the sounds of silence is weird!" she exclaimed.
"Just create one in your minds, or make a dance move using numbers, just be creative. I will prepare the dinner. All you have to do is practice your dance move in a synchronized way so that you won't make a fool of yourselves and become a laughing stock of the entire village," Margie said and left the girls to create their moves while she starts preparing a dish for their dinner.
"Yes Aunt!" the girls replied in chorus, giggling.
While preparing the vegetable in the kitchen, Margie would glance at the girls having fun creating dance moves. They would burst out laughing all of a sudden.
Somehow, the girls forget their worries for a while.
By the time the dish for the dinner was ready, the girls were able to establish a simple five dance steps that they plan to repeat over and over again until the music stop playing.
"Girls, that's enough! Dinner time!" Margie announced.
The girls gathered around the table and start munching on their meals.
After dinner, the girls continue practicing more, they still have two hours left before the offering ceremony.
While doing their practice they would make silly faces at each other.
Margie watched the sisters having fun while practicing dancing, she remembered Ivy all of a sudden. It would have been nice if Ivy was here together with her sisters right now, they would be laughing merrily.
She sighed heavily, constantly disturbed by the thought of worries, not knowing what is going on in Ivy's life out there, in the castle on the hill.
Two hours later.
"Girls, it's now time to go!" Margie said to her nieces, she placed two white flowing dresses on their hands. "Change into these clothes," she ordered. The clothes were the ones she and her late sister worn when they were still teenagers.
The girls went to their room and change into the clothes.
The women exited the house and sauntered towards the area where the offering ceremony was located.
To make the ceremony solemn and not so crowded, only the elders were allowed to attend the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by a hundred elders and there were different dishes arranged in the table, as well as fruits. Several lamps were scattered throughout the ceremony area.
The offering ceremony starts with the leader Hugo reciting a prayer for one hour, then after one hour of prayer, the elders sing a song of lamentation and sorrow, then a song for renewal of hope and enthusiasm followed.
The next song was about asking the goddess for rainfall to end the drought and thanking for her mercy and grace.
Then the dancing starts with male elders providing the music while tapping on their improvised drums and tambourines made of native materials.
Kate and Ella began dancing to the beat of the music. Since the dance steps they made were easy to remember, they only made a few mistakes.
Unknown to them...a few meters away from the clearing...there hidden among the trees... were winged creatures watching the offering ceremony...their faces brightened up with amusement.
"As far as I know there's no such thing as Goddess Lerees on heaven...humans are so gullible!" Ramza commented.
Zemeth, the leader of the winged creatures, smirked. "There are so many things in this world that humans don't know yet. That's why human beings are unique in so many ways. They're easy to deceive and manipulate," he said in response.
Ramza looked at the two girls dancing to the music. "Don't you pity the two girls? They've been dancing tirelessly for almost one hour... yet the rain has not fallen yet?" he said.
"What do you want me to do?" Zemeth asked, looking at him.
"You can command the thunder and lightning to appear in the sky. You can also make the rainfall? Why not grant their wishes just this once?" Ramza said.
Zemeth smiled. "What's the point? They would just thank that unknown goddess if I let the rainfall," he snorted. He fell into a deep silence while staring at the human girls dancing. "Alright, just this once," he said and spreads his wings zooming into the sky above.
The four-winged creature looked up above to see their leader about to create a miracle for the villagers. They're the only ones who can see him.
Zemeth spreads his hands up in the air, commanding the lightning and thunder to appear in the sky...soon enough thunder and lightning made an appearance in the heavens above... then slowly...small droplets of rain began falling from the sky.
The leader watched as the people below in the clearing were already dancing with joy, for it's the first time the rain falls after several months of drought.
The thunder and lightning already ceased but the rain continues falling hard in torrents. Soon enough, the clearing where the offering ceremony took place earlier was already deserted and the people scampered back to their homes to shelter themselves from the heavy rain.
The leader of the winged creatures lowered himself into the ground and looked at his companion already covered in a bubble wrap protecting themselves from getting wet of the rain.
"Happy?" Zemeth asked his friend.
Ramza chuckled. "You should be asking the girls who are dancing if they're happy? not me," he grinned naughtily.
Zemeth fall into silence again.
"By the way, which of the girls you have taken for a liking? The eldest, the second, or the youngest?" Ramza questioned him, he loves teasing his dear friend who had never kissed a woman since birth.
Zemeth's handsome face darkened. "None of your business!"
Ramza chuckled and the rest of the winged creatures were snickering.
"We're sent here for a mission, in case you had forgotten that guys!" Zemeth reminded them of their purpose in coming to the human realm. "We're not here to ogle at human girls," he throws them a death glare.
Ramza shrugged. "Okay, as you say so," he said and followed his friend back to their camp hidden in the thick forest.
He halted on his step. "Guys, watch over the girls!"
The three winged creatures nodded their heads.
