"There isn't any way." His voice whispered at the end. "Vampires have tried to do anything to find out if they could help and return the Hollowed back into normal but we find nothing. Being infected is the same as dead, like a cancer without medicine and what laid in the end is nothing than death." said Jung Hwa who saw Han Seoyeon having a mournful expression. "Just think of it as an illness, one that no one could avoid." he said.
As a vampire, seeing a person died or even when they killed someone, they had no feeling nor thought about it it was their instinct running into their blood and like his fellow vampires, Jung Hwa felt nothing when he killed Gwon Sheiin. He didn't feel regret nor guilt as at that time to protect Han Seoyeon that was what he had to do and even if it happened again he wouldn't have to think twice before crushing her heart.
Han Seoyeon looked away when she noticed Jung Hwa had bent his knees to be on his heels to have a proper eye contact with her who was sitting on the couch and smiled, "Are you afraid, Seoyeon?" there was a challenge at his words.
"I am." she said frankly. When Gwon Sheiin caught and grasped tight her neck she felt alarmed and scared. The feeling of loosing breaths that she felt her nerves were about to pop was frightening even as she remembered it now.
He lifted his brows not finding her confession as cowardice. "Of me?" asked Jung Hwa making her wondered why he asked such a question.
She shook her head, "I was afraid because I almost died, Mr. Jung not because of you. Instead, thank you. Thank you for saving me." if it wasn't for Jung Hwa she would have died and the thought made her hands trembled.
"That's great." A smile appeared on his lips to her, a different one than his grins. "Put this on your neck. There will be marks but it should fade after two days." he said.
Han Seoyeon wondered what he meant and when she saw the large oval mirror placed behind them her eyes stopped at the red hand marks that had almost bluish hue to feel goosebumps creeping from her skin when she thought of how the woman was now dead.
Taking the ice pack to press it over her neck, she didn't notice when Jung Hwa had prepared the ice pack for her and wondered if he had taken it with him as he took a change of his clothes.
"We should go now, you can walk now, can't you?" she nodded and stood up at first a little unstable but then she stood straight up and followed him to walk out of the building which was soaked with bloods an hour ago. In the car they didn't talk a lot only a few words of Jung Hwa asking whether her neck was alright.
When they about to reach her house, Jung Hwa turned his steer to the left, pulling his brake to come at a stop in a red light and said, "Ji Hyeang had said it earlier. Because you know about vampire and after today's incident, you will be ask to meet the Associates."
"Associates?"
"The group responsible for Vampire's society, just think of them as police, detective, and sometimes act as a judge." he shifted his eyes toward her, his red pupils had turned back into a black color. "I don't think I have to tell you this but inside the Associates, there is nothing but vampires."
The thought of meeting vampires did made Han Seoyeon to hesitate after all it was no different than a rabbit entering a den of hungry lion. "But if I don't go, they would suspect me as a witch, don't they?"
A smile appeared at Jung Hwa's lips when he nodded, "You are right."
She gulped, looking back at his fiery black eyes, "And there will be possibility that they would execute me, don't they?" Though she heard only bits from the conversation Jung Hwa had with Deok Ji Hyeang, she could understand how dangerous the existence of witch was for vampire and she doubted the night creature wouldn't put the dangerous existence to death.
"I don't want to frightened you but you are correct. Vampires are cold blooded, Seoyeon and as you said if you didn't come they would hunt you and not only you, but your entire family."
The car at the point had stopped by her house. Jung Hwa clicked to take off his car belt and moved forward to bring his body to the seat beside him.
Before Han Seoyeon speak, she felt his body leaned and she moved back to feel her back pressed deeper to the cushioned seat. His face cut close in a distance where their nose brushes.
With the distance she was under him, Jung Hwa could feel the sweet smile milder than honey and sweeter than roses from her. It was the scent he had always smelled from her and smelling it closer, he couldn't help his lips from bending down to her collarbone.
Han Seoyeon could feel his warm breaths trailing over his neck and her breath hitched. Jung Hwa lifted his chin, finding her black eyes looking back at him and the rest of her cheeks turning pink like petals of flowers and smiled to whisper, "But you don't have to worry as the person who brought you in this, I will guarantee you there would be no finger that could harm you." a blazing fervent swirled at his eyes, like a calm sea before storm his promise had been shown tonight.
"I understand," her voice come uneven and her loose fists stopped at his shoulder. "Please move, Mr. Jung." a chuckle rang on her ears that rolled off from his lips, one which was low and felt ticklish to her.
"Good night, Seoyeon I hope you would have a sweet dream." he wished as Han Seoyeon walked out of the car to feel heat reaching up to all parts of her ears and cheeks.
