Ten months passed by quickly. Mike was completely bored out of his mind. Somehow he managed to maintain his sanity in the 10 month solitude. He went through the various new information in his brain that he got from the inheritance crystal. Even though he could not use most of the arts described in it, he did get some interesting methods of moulding his energy at the xianxia level.
This was a completely new realm of strength for Mike. On earth, due to the low concentration of qi, he only reached the peak of body refinement. And that too because he was a genius. The level of strength he had at his peak was only enough to stop a 9mm bullet. Now that he reached the xianxia realm with perfection in Houtian realm, he felt that he could take on a Ak-47 with his bare body alone. As it was the first time having such strength, being exposed to such excellent grade techniques is a boon for Mike. By the time, he had reached the waterfall, Mike had already created 1-2 techniques of his own.
While passing through the waterfall, Mike was a little afraid even though he had the assurance from Elder Shou. The waterfall was a 300-foot drop and even with his increased strength, Mike would not survive such a fall. Mike closed his eyes and prayed the entire time.
After passing through what felt like a water film, Mike found himself in a quiet lake. When he looked down, he found the waterfall under him. It looked like he was in a separate space right above the waterfall.
"Who goes there? Identify yourself!"
Mike saw a well-built man flying towards him. This meant that he was atleast at the golden-core stage. Having a golden core disciple act as a watchman meant that this sect was a very major sect, if not one of the Five great sects. The 5 great sects are very secretive and only take in disciples from personal recruitment, so not many people know about their location or name. Only the people in positions of power and influence or the family of the disciples know about them. The rest of the population only know about their reputation. Mike was pretty sure he had not heard about the "Dragon Gate Sect" before, so there is a good chance that it is a part of the 5 great sects.
"Identify yourself now!! Or I will have to attack you…"
The man's voice broke Mike out of his thoughts…
"Please sir, I am only a Xianxia level practitioner, I am not a threat to anyone… I was sent here by Elder Shou… ", Mike quickly showed Elder Shou's token to prove the authenticity of his words
"Elder Shou?…Say it quickly…what errand does Elder Shou needs an outsider like you to do?"
"Unfortunately Elder Shou has succumbed to injuries. He has asked me to bring his body back to the sect and give a message to his sister, Elder Mei…"
A severe expression came upon the previously impassive face of the guard. With a heavy voice he spoke,
"Wait here…I am going to call the higher ups. But remember, if by any chance there are any discrepancies between what you told me and your real intentions, then remember that you will regret the day you were born…"
After giving the warning, the man went away. After a few seconds, Mike heard 3 long bugle sounds and saw a white flare being released in the sky. Within minutes, Mike felt several dangerous auras converging at his position. One of those auras, which felt particularly dangerous was coming towards him at great speed. In the next second, a tremendous pressure descended on Mike which forced him on his knees but strangely did not affect the boat or the coffin. Mike bowed his head and prayed for these people to be reasonable. After a few seconds, the pressure became bearable but Mike did not dare to raise his head. Just as he was getting apprehensive, a feminine but bone-chillingly cold voice called out to him…
"You, on the boat, open the lid of the coffin…"
Mike broke out in cold sweat. He did not dare delay and immediately opened the lid of the coffin. Inside, Elder Shou was laying with his eyes closed, exactly in the manner as on the day of his death. After removing the lid, Mike moved away from the coffin but continued to bow his head.
He felt a person boarding the boat and moving towards the coffin. As soon as the person saw the face of the body lying in the coffin, a tremendous and volatile pressure descended on the surrounding. Mike was extremely terrified and felt that his heart was about to be crushed. But luckily the person reigned herself in before she killed Mike.
"I heard my brother has left a message for me?"
Mike cursed in his heart. The old man had indeed told him to pass on a message to his sister. But he died before giving him anything that resembled a letter or a message. And Mike too got influenced by the mood and forgot to ask him about the message before his death. During his trip, Mike thought a lot about it and felt that if he doesn't mention the message, there is a high chance that Elder Mei would completely ignore him. It was unfortunate but the people who have lived for a long time and have tremendous power and influence most of the time become indifferent to the lives of weaker mortals. Mike could not take such a chance with his life. He also did not believe that Elder Shou would make such an obvious error. So the only conclusion that he could come up with was that the message was somehow related to restriction the old man had put in his heart.
"May I ask if this Fairy is the sister of Elder Shou, Elder Mei?"
"I am. Quickly tell me about this message…"
"Elder Shou has put a restriction in my heart and told me that it could only be opened by his sister, elder Mei…", Mike purposefully left the sentence open-ended so that this Elder Mei does not notice any problems. As soon he finished speaking, he felt a surge of qi entering his body. It was a very uncomfortable sensation, as if he was standing naked in front of the woman before him. But the sensation soon vanished.
"I see…", the woman spoke one sentence and then Mike felt a irresistible power wrapping around him and the coffin. It lifted them up and flew towards a a mountain valley. Mike tried to calm his mind as he braced for what was about to happen to him…
