Synopsis
Katché Wisfern is beholden to his principles, despite the grief they've caused him as of late. He's well aware that gambling's for fools, but even so, he can't stop himself. Especially now that Katché has found someone who's broken every presumption he's had and then some. Needless to say, he's finally met his match. In Afon O'Mir, a prestigious academy for gifted modern mages, Katché is walking ghost; a guy who'd been sentenced to death. Well, not literally. Just socially. And of his own volition, mind you. After all, he'd rather die than step into the limelight for even a second. Unfortunately, Katché's dream life as a ghost was not meant to be. Had it not been for her, Katché would've enjoyed a peaceful, albeit monotonous, school life unti…

A Brief History of Masulan

Masulan:  The world that Autumn Fields takes place on, in a nutshell. It's a planet roughly similar to Earth. Has six continents, seven seas, and clear blue skies. Unlike Earth though, it possesses Mana, which is the residual lifeforce that Masulan releases naturally.

Mana: Also referred to as Masulan's Breath or just Breath. Was used by the inhabitants of Masulan for a variety of things in days of yore. Sometimes, for war and self-defense; other times, for daily life and mundane tasks. Has lost much of its power after the death of Masulan's sole god, Nothric.

Nothric: The god that created Masulan and the many races that inhabit it several thousands of years ago. He was a fan of DnD and Western Fantasy in general, which was why He created a fantasy-themed world. After several thousand years of playing with His world, He grew bored of it.

Masulan's History: Initially created as a typical fantasy world. The Good — led by Humanity, the Elves, and the Dwarves — fought against the Bad, the Demon Lord and His armies. Cycles of peace and war followed one after another for several thousand years until Nothric irresponsibly grew bored of the entire affair, even though He was the one who set everything into motion.

Although Nothric was irresponsible, He was not a hopeless case. Wanting to move on from Masulan with a clean conscience, He sought to end the cycle of war between the forces of Good and Evil, once and for all.

In an astonishing act of maturity, Nothric sought counsel from Earth's God, who was considered the foremost expert when it came to abandoning things, specifically His own creations. Having seen how Earth had grown independent of its God without it even knowing it, Nothric sought the same for His world and asked Earth's God for help on the matter.

Nothric, given permission, copied a handful of the brightest and wisest figures from Earth's history and took them to Masulan after He was counseled by Earth's God.

(He, in yet another astounding act of maturity, did not take with him a clueless Japanese high schooler or random salaryman — what other Gods loved to steal from Earth without permission, much to the frustration of Earth's God.)

With a host of wise men, scholars, and great leaders in tow, Nothric set them unto His world with three objectives:

The first objective —  to push their technological and scientific knowledge upon Masulan...

The second objective — to slowly, but surely weed out the worship of Himself, as to destroy the connection between Himself and his creations...

The third objective — to break the Wheel of Good and Evil, the endless cycle of warfare and peace between Demonkind and the rest of the world, by any means necessary...

Five hundred years later, the Fifty Wisemen finally accomplished their task and severed the connection between Nothric and Masulan, freeing the bored God from the world He had created.

The Age of Worship had passed and with its death came something new — the Age of Reason...
