I was in the most beautiful dress I have ever worn in my life. It was hard to put on with the broken bones. Irwin was telling me what the dinner would be like and his suspicion of what the dinner was about.
He asked, "Madison they are going to probably do a wedding ceremony. It is the exchanging of blood. It will unite us as one giving you longer life and better hearing sight. You will be healed I love you short time or not you have shown me the most beautiful characteristics a woman should have. You don't hesitate to mother the children. I never wanted to let you go."
I thought for a while, "What will you say if I don't go or say okay?"
"I'll tell them what I told them when my fiance was unsure. She is not feeling well and was unable to come. I wouldn't be lying this time. This is a major decision and you are just out of high school. I do support your schooling and will help pay, but your dating life will be pretty much me if you exchange our blood."
I thought some more. I looked up and down his body "What secrets do you have? You shift to a dragon that fills this room. You have the ability to blow fire and light it control it." I was really talking to myself as I pondered my future.
"You probably have had women probably even had sex. Do you have secret children?"
"I have no children all sex partners I have had I have taken good care of or wear protection. though my early years that wasn't an option. "
Early years how old is he. He is a dragon he could be any age but he looks 32. "Why are you not married?"
"That wasn't the question in your head. " He said with a smile I liked his smile. "I'm 82. She didn't want to raise someone else children and she feared my scars and hated my work hours. I haven't found you yet. You impressed me love the children and stand up for yourself and care for others." He said softly.
It spoke to me and I pondered more I started weighing my pros and cons. He can take care of me financially and my dreams. I will never have to worry about money just threats to my life because I'm a spouse of royalty to get to him they will go after me. They are dragons.
The horror must have shown on my faces because he said, "Madison sweetheart what are you thing? I can't help or understand if you don't talk to me." he was at my level and putting a hair behind my ear.
"Threats on royalty because they want your power in dragon style I'm only human. They could roast me alive just to make you fall." I squeaked out with the horror of it.
He picked me up and held me. My casted hand thudded on his back. "I'm considered a man you don't mess with. I have some trusted friends that I'll employ to watch out for you when I am not. You can trust me. I can be trusted. "
"How am I suppose to do that? " I asked patting his back.
"I trust you." he said
"What?"
"You have protect the children proving you trust worthy." He was put me back in the chair.
"If I am wheelchair..." I was interrupted by the door bell and a man entering the room.
"Are you ready sir? is this the lucky lady? " the man said hands behind his back.
"Hello Bosley. I see my parents want to make sure this lady doesn't get way this isn't a decision to take lightly. "
"I understand that sir. Has the decision been made you have not much time."
"Madison if you never walk I still want to be by your side. Will you marry me?" he held a ring of rubies and amethysts in a beautiful setting it looked like a locus.
"This is to fast. okay. I don't think I can do two husbands." I took the ring and carefully put it on my left finger. "This is the hand I know to put it on to say I'm married or engaged." I whispered.
"Issy Daten it's time to go hope on carefully. " I hollered. In my lap they climbed and Irwin pushed me to the car.
I nervously stroked the children. I was scared. "I feel nervous too Madison. I feel it's going to be a strange night. I will stay be your side and keep the kids close." He told me picking up my cast hand and kissing my fingers.
He has some tenderness in him. We pulled up to a large house into a line that dropped us off. Irwin got out slowly picked me up it hurt everything hurt.
Bosley pulled out the wheelchair several people stopped to watch as Issy sat on my lap and Daten on a leash walked next to us up the stairs. I turned into his chest biting his under shirt trying to tolerate the pain.
At the top in a dining hall I was sat on the chair and wheeled into my seating place with Irwin to my right and Davon to my left my sister sitting on his other side.
"This is a family dinner how big is your family. Hi sis." Said Zara. She was beautiful. "You look pretty Maddie what do you things going on."
"Thank you. Your are a knock out like you always are. I think this is a wedding dinner." I pointed out all the newlyweds.
"What happened Davon? Are you taking this vibrate girl as wife?" said Stephanie she was alone this time. She teased. "You should be responsible for what you have done. "
"What has he done? " Zara asked. "Does he have a girlfriend he doing things with?" Stephanie 's mouth dropped open pointing. Zara just tilted her head. "Davon am I missing something. "
"Zara it's okay Steph is just teasing me." He said with a grin patting her hand that was laced under his. She nodded.
"Your going to help me to know what to do right?" she whispered worried she had find a scar on his hand she traced to calm herself.
"Yes don't worry. I will take care of you." he said. She thanked him nodding. Stephanie had stomped way.
A couple as young looking as my parents appeared. "Hello my boys these are lovely girls are you going to finally tie the knot. Davon she is just beautiful."
"Zara Dream you have a lovely place. I'm not going to tie the knot with him. He my sister's second husband I'm her partner in business. "
"Is that so what business are you in?" The man said.
"A bakery. My cake making skills and her breads there will be no question where you are getting your bread from. " Zara was proud of the idea.
"Do you get along that well with your sister?"
"We are irish twins and have been planning this all my senior year to this day." Zara was sitting tall full of life.
They smile "Davon you have a lovely girl. You will have your hands full. " They addressed Davon then turned to me.
"This is Madison Dream." Irwin said I bowed my head.
"It is nice to meet you."
"How are you going to bake in a wheelchair? "
"Lower tables and spacerish kitchen. I am sure I'll have little helpers Mr. and Mrs. Drake."
"Oh I see my grand children have taking a liking to you and that they participate in their first fight. Coming out unscratched you were not so fortunate."
"It looks like that doesn't it fighting a dragon as a human will do that wouldn't it. I don't understand why the kids first fight is so special is that what this dinner is all about. " I said with a soft smile .
"Miss Dream your marrying my son Irwin and Davon if Zara is that much against it. if I was her and that business idea she should marry him for the money security." Father Dake said firmly.
"I understand. Is this a custom to marry quickly after meeting?" I asked.
"It does seem to happen often." Mother Drake said calmly "Welcome to the family you two I am interested in trying these baked goods." They left with a pat on their sons' shoulders.
"Not bad first meeting." Davon said.
"I don't think they like me." said Zara.
"They like you Zara. Your vibrant it is just a new thing." Davon said he had their hands laced and she still traced his scar. She came in really close whispering softly in his ear something I didn't hear. They exchanged several times.
"It seems to quiet." Irwin whispered. " I makes me uneasy."
"I have to go to the restroom." I whispered. He stood and lead me to it. In the bathroom I asked, "We are early by a lot. Why are they hostile?" I whispered it in his as he helped me.
"They arranged my marriage but we never married because she never showed up at the ceremony. She would most of the time just disappear." He whispered back.
"Davon has a girl here tonight there's a lot of humans that bride finding ball was suppose to be dragon kind of the world not humans. How could they stop so low." a voice outside the door could be heard.
"I find them cute. I got me one." said a second.
"Well I would never." said another. The door jiggled. I seem to be getting hot in here.
"Irwin are you okay? " he looked at me.
"Oh yeah. Should we go back?" he blinked a few time and the room cooled down the children followed my actions before we left.
"Irwin!.." A wave of dizziness and pain went through me stopping me from talking. Into the closest room he check if there was people before locking us in.
I felt like I was going to black out. He laid me down on the floor. He seem to be sniffing. I felt better on my back. The children hovered on the side of me.
In a slash he was dragon hissing and snarling. He circled around me. I watched as his tail lashed out. The children laid still. So I did too. Then with a slice of his claw I was rolled over and blood was spilling out of my back he drank it licking and sucking.
He then put a cut in his wrist word that sang off his lips he held out the cutted wrist. I drank the blood until he was healed then said the words after him. The blood ran through my body like a stream going down the mountain little by little the pain left me.
He removed the sling then the cast. He remained a dragon as I closed my eyes at the relief I felt from pain. He kept licking my back and rubbing against me.
"What are you doing? " I asked in a mix of pain and pleasure.
"You have a blood clot. I am going to help it heal." I just laid still as pain drained out. It was at that time the door opened. I heard the scream "a monster eating a person." Then the thunder of many feet. I slowly sat up the kids climbed into my lap. Irwin stood up at the men came in the room. They couldn't enter far in the room because Irwin filled the room.
"Have you really gone so mad as to eat man flesh Irwin?" Asked the king. Davon entered with Zara.
"Where is the human?" he asked. I leaned against his hide.
"I am that man that he was massaging being I'm his wife in a locked room. We could have been having sex." The king laughed.
"It is time to eat not play with your wife Irwin." he then left. As the lady who found us babbled about it looked like she was being ate.
"You finally did help her heal. She looks much better need help." Zara looked around then back at him. "Who are you talking to?" Davon looked over at her.
"What do you see in this room Zara?" Davon asked. She looked around "Maddie on the floor with the pet dragons Issy and Daten Is what she called them. It is a very nice room lovely choices on furniture. Can we have that in our room?" she pointed at a floor length mirror with carvings of a dragon.
"Our room? ahhh.. sure I'll have them pack it up while we eat." Davon said unsure what just happened. l wasn't sure either I leaned against a dragon and on the other side behind him I couldn't quite see was the mirror.
Davon touched my shoulder sending cold through my body that sent a shiver. He leaned close, "I am still your husband too." He nipped at my neck causing me to jump.
"Davon I daon't know what you did to help zara recover so quickly. I do know she need you everything about you. Your a good man she need you don't hurt her don't disappoint me." I whispered back.
"Davon the food will get cool. You said after dinner we will go skinny dipping in the lake." Zara said pulling on him. I cocked my brow. He grinned sheepishly then walking like royalty out the room. She animated in to some story.
"Do you think you can walk? I just heard a whisper I'm going to need you able to move." I looked down at my toes to wiggle them. They slowly moved. It had only been a short time numb but it looked like I would still have to relearn to walk. He watched nodding.
"Why couldn't she see you?" I whispered as he picked me up and put me back into the chair.
"She didn't want to. I didn't want to scare her. " Irwin told me. He began to push the chair. "Do not take any drinks from anyone fake it to be polite but don't drink. For the ceremony you only take from my hands and only my blood. You have taken of my blood and we are already married by doing this but my bad feeling has only got worse. We so leaving as quickly as possible children get hurt sick tired anything to get us out as close to the end of dinner I don't care if we miss dessert. " he whispered through mostly closed lips. I nodded holding the kids closer to me.
"Have you ever been wrong?" I whispered so soft I was sure he would not hear. "Not often enough." I nodded.
We entered the hall this time it was full our seats only remained open at the king's table with the family.
The king stood announcing the reason we are celebrating and gloating about his children he put on display. Then the wedding announcements came each with a ceremony of the marriage vows and exchange. We didn't eat until every last vow was made. Zara didn't hesitate to be with Davon. The couples left the second the last couple wed us.
The food came out and so did the music and festivity. I saw the children growing tired and jumpy. "Irwin we need to say our far wells the children can't keep there eyes open."
"Oh yes I see that. Thank you mother father for the lovely dinner." He stood and addressed his mother first.
"Oh yes I am sure you would like to spend some more alone time. You seem to have stole some in the beginning." she giggled then kissed his cheek.
"It was lovely to meet you be good to my son he deserves a good woman." she addressed me. I nodded and smiled assuring her I would.
We walked towards the exit a garden light up well. It was just into the mase that Irwin shifted and I climbed on his back. I laid low and the children too.
Irwin did not take off he throw my wheelchair up the the air as high as he could in seconds it exploded.
"Kids hold tight to uncle and stay low. He is going to get us home safe." I told them. I heard a soft groan as he moved through to the other side of the mase. He leaped over the hedge. It dropped into a lake. "thirty seconds" I mumbled behold holding my breath. As we hit the water.
I tried to hold onto him he moved really fast through the water I laid flat on him but I still struggle I couldn't hold my breath anymore. I patted him.
He surfaced I took a much needed. Then he dived again deeper this time. I felt Issy slip. I tried to grab her. Did she fall asleep? I patted Irwin again he began to surface I was loosing my grip on Issy when I felt Daten move too.
I prayed as Irwin broke the surface and went to shore. I fell right off his wet hide. He caught me. "They were falling. " I gasped for air and the fright of falling. I shivered.
I know thirty seconds isn't long to get as far away as possible. I didn't think they would loose their grips though. Come we don't have much time.
On the back of Irwin with the children again but Issy was asleep this time and in my blouse. Daten was awaken and he gripped on again. We moved up a tree and ran across them like squirrels I was not sure how he did it he is not small by any means.
I shivered and chattered the whole time cold he did try to keep me warm I could feel his heat but it just wasn't enough.
At the end of the forest he took flight. I was flat on my stomach as he flew us home. In he went to the house a garage like window closing it upon arrival.
He quickly got me out of my wet clothes and into dry and under furs. He put the children in beds before crawling in bed with me. Am I ready for this? We cuddle at first before he kissed that took me into paradise.
