Four young travellers, adventured as far as the demonic region. Each one hoping to hone their skills beyond that of their brethren. Marquis, a demonic bard, is skilled in using his voice to find solutions to his problems. Cassandra, the Princess of Evandoor, is able to use her agility to sneak up on her opponents and take them down with a single arrow. Bertrude, An Orphaned Giant standing at fifteen feet tall, contains the skills of an expert brawler. Kaine, The captain of the fearless squad, a battlemage like no other; being able to hone all elements. Together, the four were known as the Four Horseman of Death.
"Are we there yet Kaine? I feel like its been awfully long since you last said a word of where we were going." Cassandra leaned up against Kaine's back as he drove the wagon they were riding in.
"You know he isn't a man of words, Cass. You should just give up trying to seduce him." Marquis continued playing his harp after making the comment.
"Hey! Marquis! When was the last time you saw home?" Bertrude, who didn't even fit in the wagon and had to run beside them the whole time, poked at Marquis.
"Never Bertrude. We've already talked about this, I was a demon born over human soil, so I've been condemned to never enter the demonic region in my life." Marquis pointed at his cut off horns. "You see, this is proof that i'm not considered a demon."
Bertrude squinted and then frowned. "Well, I haven't visited home either. I would just think you'd be as excited as I am."
Marquis quickly darted a glance towards the giant. "I've already come to terms with my punishment because I'm simply more mature than you." Then smoothly, Marquis began playing his harp once again.
"We're here. The magical item?" Kaine held out his hand, and Cassandra dropped a key known as the Skeleton key into his right hand. Its magical abilities made it possible to unlock any lock, and open any door.
The wagon stopped outside of a large cavern, just on the border of the demonic region and the Imperial region. "Don't follow me in." Kaine placed his sword down outside the cavern.
"Do you think he will be alright?" Bertrude sat there scratching his chin.
"Of course he will be! He's our captain, he can do anything!" Cassandra's admiration for Kaine was never ending.
"Well it's whatever, we can always just tell when he's in trouble. That magical power he carries around him is easily sensible from miles away." Marquis calmed down Bertrude's anxiety a little.
"We can only hope so, this dark aura is just so nauseating, Captain is surely amazing." Bertrude stared into the cavern where the dark aura seemed to be originating from. Butterflies grew in his stomach; the last time he had this feeling, Kaine was fighting a demon lord on equal footing and almost lost his life in the end.
