Walking in as I took my first steps inside the corridor. Looked white, furnish but sleek. It had the smell of unwanted disinfectant, small noises of creaks and cracks but busy nurses and doctors walking down the halls. I took a deep breath and started walking, out of no where Dr.Ai, a hospital doctor working to treat leukemia and so called hospital expert popped up right in front of me. I didn't know if if it was his expression that surprised me, or his enthusiasm to speak.
"Eclair! How have you been doing? Are you here to get your medicine?" Said Dr.Ai casually as if he had known me for years, as if I had more than a few years left to live.
"I'm doing alright. I'm not here for small talk, I'm here to ask if the chemotherapy was ready, if I was going to survive, if it was going to hurt." As I said.
He looked at me as if I was joking, but of course, he knew I wasn't. I followed him into a white room with no windows, he looked at me as if he had a lot of things to say. But he didn't say a word, nor a peep, nor a sound. He held quietly, tension filled the air. Suddenly he said, "I'm going on a business trip, so I'm assigning you to one of my trainees, Victor."
I kept silent, comprehending all this. Why did he tell me this now? Why is he giving me up to a stranger? Why, just why. I had so many questions, but I kept them to myself. As the door slowly opened, I turned and was shocked to see a young man, dressed in white. He had dark blue hair and glasses, he held a cold stare within my eyesight and walked calmly in without making a sound.
"Ahh, Victor, you're here. I was starting to wonder if you would show up. Hahah.." Dr.Ai said nervously with a laugh. But that didn't last.
"So you're saying I'm left with him?! For 2 months? Without you watching him?!" As I shouted, he-
"SHUT UP! You're being obnoxiously loud, well, it wasn't surprised coming from a brown haired looking brat." He said in a tone that almost sounded rude.
There was silence, more silence, until Dr.Ai said something not one of us to believe.
"Victor, you're in charge of Eclair while I'm gone, Eclair, you're in charge of Victor while I'm gone." He said calmly as if he wasn't joking, which we both knew he wasn't and didn't say a word.
We all left without anything to discuss nor to disagree, if was all done. I walked out fiercely almost bumping into the counter on my way out, I was so vexed and irritated, but I had no saying in the matter. Because sooner or later, I will have to rely on him, my life is in his hands. If he chooses to break it, then so be it.
