Chapter 8 - The Foxgirl's Suggestions and the Mage's Trial III

"I-I-" Ancestra was confused, breathing heavily from the thorns around her heart and lungs. She was being overloaded with information and the fact that Deb lied to her, still trying to breathe in and out slowly to calm herself. Her bandaged arm was also feeling like it's burning up, much more than her whole body.

"If you're not going to come then I will!" Deb declared, bringing his open hand outward and stretched toward her, pulling it to his chest after closing it. Another force grabs Ancestra's body easily and gets shot straight to Deb, who was waiting for her to counter attack.

"…!" Ancestra's body moved faster than her brain can process it, her hands crossing up to her face and chest, protecting herself out of instinct. Deb drives the more narrow end of his staff and let her body hit it with momentum, aiming the staff at her solar plexus.

"Ku-hah!" Ancestra coughed sharply and felt her lungs being pierced, her small body being sent to the ground with Deb's follow-up hit from her side being hit by the bigger end of his staff. She recovers safely, landing on her hands and feet staggering from the hit. It wasn't from pain, but the fact that she can't breathe properly, making the Rose choke her heart and lungs even tighter.

Ancestra, uncertain of her odds at winning, charged at Deb with all her speed, disappearing once more without so much as a blur. She circled around him for five times per second at speeds unable to be followed by the human eye. As her big attack, each time she circled around him she throws a quick punch at the nearest body part she could see.

Deb raised his arms to let himself see underneath his flowing cloak. His hand holding his staff moved automatically to block her attacks from the back, and his free hand slaps her attacks from the front. Ancestra stops immediately after seeing that it doesn't work, and backs off ten meters, disappearing again. This time, she raises her left hand. It had a large metal bracer on it, with her bandaged arm folding backward for a punch aimed to the gut. Exhaling a sharp breath that almost made her hack and cough, she immediately held her breath as she shot her bandaged arm upward to Deb, reaching just enough for an uppercut. The mage dodges deftly to the right once again, only to find a large, half a meter extended blade coming down on him inches away from slicing his head open. The blade was met with his staff, blocking a deadly attack.

"Ngggahhhh!" Ancestra roared and shouted, forcing the blade down to try and cut the nigh indestructible staff of his, pounding her bandaged arm on the bracer. With her monstrous strength, she broke the bracer after one rage-filled hit on it, but she kept hammering down. Each strike rumbled the ground like a noticeable quake as she planted her feet up on the staff, clinging on it like a tree branch as she struck through the equipment on her arm, effectively hurting herself in the process.

Her mind was filled with anger and frustration, while her heart and lungs were in the cusp of being pulverized by the Rose's thorns. She didn't care about being confident in trying to hit him. She just wanted to hit him, plain and simple. Unbeknownst to her, her bandaged arm started turning red, as if it's soaking blood. Deb spun around in a circle, with his staff having Ancestra in tow, and sent her flying into the wall with more than enough force to break it, to be stopped by an invisible barrier set up by Haruka.

"GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" Ancestra howled in pain and pure rage, coughing blood. Her crimson eyes tracing a glint of uncontrolled, malicious and malevolent urge to kill the person in front of her. Her raven hair started to turn into a peachy pink, the same color as her mother's. Her bandaged arm pulsated in one second intervals, a burning sensation that makes her hold her bleeding bandaged arm.

"Oh no… Did I mess with her too much?" Deb scratched the back of his head, unfazed by Ancestra's sudden fit of rage. He was more concerned of the reason why she started coughing blood and started bleeding. Ancestra dashed at him again, this time he couldn't react due to it being so slow compared to her disappearing acts. She walked up to him slowly but surely, her purpose set on landing a hit. Every step she took made her bandaged arm bleed and drip down to the floor, glowing redder than her beast-like gaze.

"Elspeth." Haruka called out nervously.

"When she tries it. Chill the fuck out." Elspeth cussed at Haruka calmly, unfazed.

"GRAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Ancestra howled demonically, raising her bleeding arm. She was more than a meter away from him, which Deb confidently thought he wouldn't get hit if she were to bring her heavy hand down.

A larger hand manifested real time that coated her bandaged arm, one more jagged and spikier with a demonic appearance of a mutated limb, clawing down at Deb. The blood manifested hand enlarged her humane limb to a greater reach, enough to hit Deb. Worse, kill him. Elspeth brought her hand down, her fingertips aimed at Ancestra's demonic blood hand. A dark grey, white edged chunk shaped like a sword blade with a white aura sliced Ancestra's hand cleanly, directly just before her wrist.

"AGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Ancestra was immediately brought to her senses, feeling something about her right hand missing. The glint in her eyes were gone, and the peachy pink hue of her hair also reverted back to its former raven dye. She clutched her wrist, screaming in unfiltered, painful screams of suffering. Tears streaked down her eyes, collapsing to her knees and sitting down on the ground, not caring about anything else. Like a child that got hurt.

Although, the hand that Elspeth cut off still flew a small distance because of how slow it was compared to her blade slicing it. The demonic hand's fingers did Deb's head fit in between cleanly, landing on both his shoulders. The fingers were enough to cover his shoulders, and the palm was wide enough to squeeze his body and more if Ancestra got a hold of him.

A flash of red overloaded Ancestra's brain, the Rose pulverizing her heart. She snaps her head back, as if she was shot in the head. The demonic hand shrinks down to its original size, along with her arm.

She collapses backward, lifeless with a thud on the floor in silence.
