Chapter 1 - Chp.1 Welcome to Wolvesren

I don't know how I got here or why I'm here. I just arrived here and I know I'm here. The desk I sit in front of is welcoming but cold.

A man sits on the other side of the desk, he has black hair that twists in every which way, emerald eyes which see beyond and through me.

"You're the new arrival correct? I'm the passing manager but thanks to you filling my quota I can leave here so I thank you for that"

He stands up and reaches out with his hand.

"You're Dan Sallis right? I'm Silinis."

"Y-yes I'm Dan." I barely manage to say.

"Well then, I know you wanted to become an adventurer so I told the people at the guild that you'd be over there soon."

"How'd you know that?" I ask

"Trust me kid," Silinis says, "when you've been on the job as long as I have these things come naturally to you."

"Well thank you then." I say leaving for the new world.

The world outside resembles a fantasy town, not big enough to be considered a city but townsized nonetheless.

I spot the adventurers guild and head inside.

"Welcome, sir Silinis told us of your arrival." Says a women behind the counter. "If you want to get registered then come on over here."

I walk to the back room where she holds out a waiver for me to sign. I spot a brand in the back corner of the room, the top is red with heat.

"Is that part of the process too?" I ask gesturing towards the brand.

That is part of it but don't worry, it isn't actually red from being on the fire. We use mana on it to mark all people associated with us."

After I fill out the waiver she grabs the brand and tells me to hold out my arm. She grabs my arm with an iron grip and presses the brand down hard. It doesn't hurt but it feels tingly.

Slowly the spot where she presses the brand starts to form a circle.

But suddenly, the circle sends lines spiraling in towards the center which then morph into more lines, drawing the face of a demon on my arm.

A loud clattering tings out as she drops the brand on the ground.

"Demon" she whispers softly
