Chapter 14 - Grandma Fan is the best!

Fan Xifeng just walked in the kitchen to eat her breakfast when a maid entered with a shocked look in her face. Fan Xifeng just smiled and say, "It's Fan Xifeng."

"Eldest young miss?! How…"

"Don't worry it's just prosthetic and make up. Tell your colleagues about it but also informed them that they shouldn't tell this to outsiders, strictly."

The maid nodded her head continuously yet confusion apparent with the way she look at Fan Xifeng. " Your young miss Xiaodan already has her breakfast?"

"No, not yet. Would you like me to call her?"

"Please. Also tell someone in the kitchen that I would like an American breakfast and since you're at it, ask Xiaodan what she wanted and inform the cook."

"Okay eldest miss. Would you like to eat something while waiting?"

"No, I'm good. I'll be at the backyard. Call me when the food is prepared."

"Okay eldest miss." The maid then walked out.

Fan Xifeng had another realization. There would only be a time when she would feel a moment of de ja vu and then flashes of memory would appear in her eyes to tell her in advance the situation or the content of what scene will happen next in her present moment.

However, those flashes of memory isn't consistent in her day to day life. For example like this morning. She woke up blank of what will happen next just like it's just her normal days.

Confused, yet Fan Xifeng managed to keep herself calm and could only follow the flow.

It's still seven in the morning and Fan Xifeng intentionally woke up early to prepare her disguise and make up. At the same time, she intend to let her grandparent see this appearance so she could talk to them early before leaving for the mall with Fan Xiaodan as the mall in Country C only locally opened at nine in the morning.

Fan Xifeng saw that the wooden, white-painted swing was still moist from the morning fog so she decided to rather stroll around.

The chirping of the early birds and the cool breeze of the morning air improved Fan Xifeng's mood. "What a lovely morning." She murmured.

She kept strolling for quite a time before she heard someone calling her name. When she turned, she saw Fan Xiaodan at the wooden gate of the man made forest.

"You're all set up very early." Fan Xiaodan said while approached her.

"Hmm, want to show to grandpa and grandma." Fan Xifeng giggled.

"Be careful, you might caused them a heart attack." Fan Xiaodan replied in the same joking tone but the warning is obvious.

"Right." Fan Xifeng nodded. "The breakfast is ready?", she continued.

"Yes….and…. grandma and grandpa were already in the kitchen as well….so I'm serious with what I just told you."

Fan Xifeng chuckled. "You could just introduced me as a friend who slept over."

"Ugh sis."

Fan Xifeng laughed once more. "Just joking. Let's go….Don't worry. It might shocked them but I already have a good explanation."

"Alright." Fan Xiaodan said and walked ahead of her older sister.

"Next time we should ask Feng Feng and Xiaodan to come and stroll with us on the park since they also woke up early in the morning." Fan Xifeng heard her grandma talking to her grandpa.

"If they're not busy. We could." Grandpa Fan replied, "They're here," Grandpa Fan paused seeing Fan Xifeng, confusion in his expression but at the same time, he seemed to know the ugly woman beside Fan Xiaodan.

"Xiaodan, who is she? Where's your older sister?" Grandma Fan asked.

"Grandma, it's me." Fan Xifeng answered right away shocking and confusing Grandma Fan, on the other hand, Grandpa Fan is just staring at her.

Grandma Fan was about to stand up and approached Fan Xifeng however, Grandpa Fan pulled her back. "Just sit. You're still a bit tired from the morning stroll."

"Feng Feng? What is this? What happened? What's going on?!" Grandma Fan asked continuously.

Fan Xifeng heaved a sigh and look at both grandparents. "Grandpa, Grandma, would you still love me if I looked like this?"

"No." Grandpa Fan said straightly.

"Grandpa…." Fan Xifeng don't know whether to laugh or to cry by this.

"Don't act spoiled now when I clearly told you last night about my decision. It's final Feng Feng."

"What decision? What is this? Fan Hsui you knew of this?!" Grandma Fan turned to her husband.

Grandpa Fan heaved a sigh and stared at Fan Xifeng signaling for the granddaughter to explain herself.

Fan Xifeng silently 'Phew'. "This grandma,… I informed grandpa and papa last night that I would like to start working at Fan Enterprise anytime soon but… I have one condition," Fan Xifeng paused and looked straightly at both grandparents, her voice held a resolute tone, "I wanted to start working there with this face."

"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"

No one expected it, not Grandpa Fan, Not Fan Xiaodan, and not even Fan Xifeng have expected that this would be the reaction of Grandma Fan. Not a shocked "Why? What? Or How" but a booming laughter that filled the entire dining room's atmosphere.

Fan Xifeng who thought that Grandma Fan took what she just said as a joke pouted. "Grandma, I wasn't joking."

"I didn't say it, Ha! Ha! Ha!"

"Grandma…calm down. Stop laughing, it might harm you." Fan Xifeng tried to pacify Grandma Fan. Grandpa Fan on the other hand was rubbing his wife's back. "Okay, okay. I'm fine now." She stared to Fan Xifeng. "Feng Feng that's crazy,"

"Yes." Grandpa Fan instantly added.

Grandma Fan nudge him to not talk. "It's crazy but it's funny."

"So you agree grandma?" Fan Xifeng asked excitedly.

"No." Grandpa Fan readily answered instead earning a sharp glare from Grandma Fan. Grandma Fan then paused, looking like she was thinking deeply before nodding her head, signifying she agreed.

Fan Xifeng stood up from her seat to approached grandma Fan to hugged her. All the while, Grandpa Fan wasn't talking because grandma Fan was pinching his thigh under the table.

Grandpa Fan: "...…."

'I should have just asked permission from grandma first. If only I knew that grandpa could not go against grandma.' Fan Xifeng thought while enjoying the warm embrace from her grandmother.

"Grandma, you're the best!"
