Chapter 19 - The Virus Isn’t an Accident

Dang! Dang! A type of strange sounds rang in the house.

Moh Yanchen drew back immediately, and Shen Chengjing took half a step back and touched her hair shyly. "Oh. Um, I must return to my room."

She ran back to the second floor after saying that.

"Shen Chengjing, are you crazy?" She pinched herself hard as she leaned on the balcony, panting heavily.

Moh Yanchen didn't go back to his room. Instead, he turned around and walked out of the house with fast steps.

"Sir." Mo Wen was waiting for him outside the house.

The alarm was specially designed. If something happened in the army, the alarm would ring in synchronization in the mansion.

"Yeah." He answered in his deep voice and saw a helicopter in front of the house like a proud eagle looking down upon the world. The door opened, and Moh Yanchen lifted his leg and entered the helicopter, followed by Mo Wen.

"Some odd things happened lately in the forest. Our brothers got wounded when they patrolled the place. Mo Qiu checked on them and said that it is a virus. I'm afraid it's no coincidence," Mo Wen explained the incident in detail behind him.

Moh Yanchen remained silent as he looked at the scenery outside the window thoughtfully with squinted eyes.

In the sky, dense red laser rays beamed across each other. Any unrecognized aircrafts would explode if they touched these laser rays. But this helicopter flew above the clouds with familiarity and dashed toward a mysterious forest.

Half an hour later, the helicopter landed stably. Mo Qiu and some other military officers were waiting for awhile already.

"Sir." Mo Qiu had a solemn expression on his face, no longer looking playful and casual.

"Research and develop the antidote as soon as possible; save them at all costs," Moh Yanchen said in a harsh voice; he regarded every soldier as his family.

He had established this special force on his own and spent all his time and energy on it before they could achieve their current glory.

"Yes, sir." Mo Qiu answered before adding without hesitation, "But this virus is very special. Do you remember the odd virus six years ago? I think they are similar even though some of the genes are different…"

Mo Qiu spoke in a deep voice. After talking to Moh Yanchen, he returned to his research institute.

Four soldiers were standing on guard outside a castle-like building.

"Sir." They stood straight and saluted when they saw Moh Yanchen.

"Thank you for your hard work. How is it going inside?"

"Sir, it's not good. Their wounds are festering continuously, and they are running high fevers. After taking Dr. Mo's medicine, they're now in deep sleep," a soldier quickly walked forward and pushed open the door while speaking.

Moh Yanchen walked into the ward and saw four soldiers lying in beds. He pulled open a covering, and the wounds appeared in front of him. He reached out his hand and pressed on a wound lightly.

"Get ready to enter the forest." Moh Yanchen turned around and strode out.

Mo Wen came up. "We're ready. How many people should we bring?"

"No need for others. Just you and me," Moh Yanchen said gravely with a serious expression, and his midnight-dark eyes glinted with chilly lights. He wouldn't let anyone trespass and play games on his territory.

"Yes, sir." Mo Wen never dared to question Moh Yanchen's decisions.

Moh Yanchen and Mo Wen changed into military uniforms and entered the forest with equipment.

The forest was eerily quiet; it seemed nothing was in here, except for the chirping of birds and insects.

"I see." Moh Yanchen pressed his lips tightly into a sneer. His feet in military boots stopped as he glanced around him with an odd smile on his face.

Killing intent emitted from this smile as if a devil had possessed him.
