At the very least, they had to find out where those geishas they were supposed to rescue in the mission were being held!
Otherwise, once the B-20 bombers took off, and a solidifying lime gas bomb was thrown into the prison of the Mist Hidden Camp, killing most of the geishas they needed to rescue, that would not be fun.
However, the Mist Hidden Camp was built on a small hill, and there were no taller mountains nearby that could be used to look down on the entire camp from a high vantage point.
Nevertheless, such a bit of difficulty was clearly not enough to stump experts like Ye Weiming and his companions.
