Sending messages on the Sect Channel costs money!
The price of 10 gold per message is a substantial expense for players at this point. Ye Weiming, since starting the game, hasn't made any big purchases but has also only managed to save less than 20 gold.
Even pooling together their funds, Poached Pork Slices and his team would have more than Ye Weiming, but nowhere near enough to splurge frivolously.
You have to understand, all players in "Eternal Chivalry" start on equal footing, there's no place for in-game purchases with real cash.
No one would bat an eye at spending 10 gold on equipment, but to use it on a sect channel message, that would be extremely extravagant. Ye Weiming has yet to see anyone do that.
Yet, Poached Pork Slices did just that.
By spending 10 gold to broadcast Yi Yi's acquisition of the Zhuge Crossbow across the sect, they have passed beyond harming others for their own benefit. They have reached a new level of mischief, damaging themselves to harm others!
