Chapter 12 - Chapter III The First Mission - Part 2

Locus, with the assistance of Delta team, helped load the remaining supplies onboard a spaceship called the Falcon. The body was a paint of chrome with stripes of blue slashed around the ship nice and neat. The wings were built on top of the ship for agile flying, the body was shaped just like a falcon bird. He found it ironic that a ship named the Falcon was built to look like a falcon.

Kate was carrying supplies onto the ship, she held a couple of small crates while engaging in a small conversation with Juniper (Who was next to her carrying the same amount of crates as well):

"Who does that Locus guy think he is?" she scoffs while observing him from afar.

"What's wrong with him?" Juniper questioned readjusting the crates as they were slipping off her hands.

"It's Everything! Just look at how tall he is for one, he's like a giant!" She exclaimed while resting the crate down along with Juniper and heading out the ship to grab more supplies.

"Kate, there's nothing wrong with him, I think he's a very strong person which will help us out. Plus this will only be a one time gig, he'll be too busy racking up Scars without us. He'll help out immensely with this mission no doubt," Juniper reassured her.

"June, (Which was a nickname friends would call her) You're being too lenient towards him," she told her.

"No I'm not, I'm just trying to help you to give him a chance, he is a Locust soldier," Juniper replied back grabbing a large box to carry back.

She left Kate behind to get away, "Typical girl, I gotta look after her," Kate shrugged, while trying to catch up with her.

Lee yelled for everyone to get aboard the ship swiftly, he'd flown the Falcon out of the hanger bay, (Which everyone was well buckled and seated at that time) They'd jumped to light speed to reach the empty yellow planet.

As they hastily travel to their destination, a conversation is struck in between them.

Lee: "So you're a Locust type soldier, tell me how did you survive all those years anyway?"

Locus: "Last I'd remember was I fell from a tall skyscraper and into a pile of rubble, somehow I must've fell into a coma during that time and here I am."

Kate: "You're joking right? There's no way one would survive a coma from so long ago!"

Locus: "I go by what I said."

John: "If you were in a coma, how did you survive without life support?"

Locus: "I don't know. All I know right now is the Chicago War was about twenty years ago and somehow, I reawaken twenty years after those events."

Juniper: "That's incredible!"

Kate: "Typical you'd fall for him June."

Lee: "How did you make it here to the Autumn spaceship?"

Locus. "I was founded by a few militia soldiers passing through, they guided me out of the city, but they were killed in action."

John: "Really?"

Locus: "Yes, but he was technically the first soldier to reawaken a long deceased Locust soldier from the past huh?"

Juniper: "That's unfortunate. I just hope those soldiers found peace after they died for their cause."

Locus nodded.

Locus: "What's our strategy? There's bound to be more Scars than usual on such a mission like this."

Lee: "Our 'strategy' is simple: Land on the planet, destroy the drill, and save the day."

Locus: "That's too predictable."

Kate: "We'll be fine. Besides, we have you to kill them for us."

Locus: "Am you expecting me to do all the hard work and strategies a plan?"

John: "You can take the most damage, right?"

Locus: "I can, but I'm not meant to take a lot of damage. The heavy armor can only take so much-"

Lee: "He's joking with you! Don't worry, we've been in this game for a long time, we know what we're doing. There will most likely be only one small drop ship of Scars."

They jumped out of light speed. Locus inspected the side window view and saw the massive planet Venus hovering in the vast depths of space. It was a yellow/orange color, with small streaks of white clouds horizontally along the planet's surface. He saw several medium sized enemy Scar ships, he counted twelve at least. Locus asked curiously, "How do we get past those ships?"

Lee saw the several ships and was surprised at the small fleet, "I've never seen that many ships just in the outer orbit. We can cloak ourselves using this."

The Falcon was quickly cloaked into an invisible camouflage. The enemy couldn't track them or detect them in any case.

"Impressive, Can they detect us?" Locus asked.

"Only if you fire the turret guns, we modified the ship to have an invisible cloak around it so that the enemy can't see us. You seem surprised at all this old technology, why is that?" Lee asked all the while steering the Falcon spaceship.

"We Locust soldiers only fight with what we got, I don't get too exposed to any new technology," he told Lee while gazing outside the window to view the Falcon turn invisible.

John added to the conversation as a few small Scar spaceship fighter ships approached closer to them, "What if they run into us?"

"That could be a problem," Lee replied while detouring the Falcon at a decent speed around the fighters, trying to dodge the enemy zooming past them unknowingly. He barely missed one by the wing miraculously, they headed to the planet safely.

Lee flew through the outer-orbit of the planet Venus, trying to escape the thick clouds to find an open view and landing spot.

Lee maneuvered out of the clouds and everyone got a view of the landscape, the rocky terrain of mountains, boulders, and rocks covered most of the baron empty planet. Bizarre vine like trees were also scattered throughout the planet. Locus caught on to a massive orange lake in the distance. Everyone eventually made contact with the invaded Militia base. The base (Named Foxtrot) showed the tall drill attached to a horizontally long Scar dreadnought. It was hovering above the wide dome shaped spherical base, a looming shadow covered the base as it was drilling through the center. "That's the base we were informed about?" Locus asked.

"Supposedly yes," Lee responded while grasping his chin, "This is strange, why are the Scars here and now?".

Kate spoke up, "Look! We should land the Falcon there," she pointed out the nearby landing spot just beyond them.

Lee swung the Falcon towards the mellow spot Kate recommended, he landed it without any setbacks or Scar ships noticing.

Locus exited the Falcon's premise and landed on the soft ground. He scrunched his boots on the dirt and saw the soil was a yellowish brown color. He also saw a mud track on the ground, "It rains here?" he asked curiously while crouching down to touch the muddy track.

Lee looked at him while checking his weapon's magazine for any ammo, "Yes, it's quite strange isn't it?"

Everyone moves as a single group, Lee takes the charge up front, while behind him, three members protect him, which are Kate, John, and Juniper. And of course Locus is left with their six (Which he did not like to be a flanker as he called it) Locus scanned the incredible planet wildlife, with the rich tall green trees wildly grown everywhere creating shade. Including the small/medium sized waterfalls flowing out orange water towards his left. It appeared so strange to him, but it looked so rich with color and flow. There were also unknown animals as well roaming throughout the landscape. One was a pack of strange small hairy blue monkeys, they climbed the tall trees using the vines to travel throughout the jungles of the planet. Another looked like a big blue bobcat, he roamed throughout the tall rocky cliffs and jumped really far from one place to another. The plants and flowers were unknown to him as well, some were a teal blue color, and another was a yellow color, which looked like a dandelion. Others were wildly colored with variety, it seemed like a rainbow was forming all around him.

Locus felt the planet vibrate slightly, he glanced and saw the massive drill drilling its way into the base without stopping. He also saw the gigantic dreadnought holding the drill in place, it was a sleek black and red color cosmetic ship, with spikes on the front and sides of it to most likely protect it from other ships ramming into it. It had a blue colored hyper jet so when the ship went into light speed it would create a bright blue color.

All of a sudden, the rumbling in the ground stopped, they all looked and saw the drill had stopped and moved upwards inside the ship. "What are they doing?" John asked, stopping dead in his tracks to watch the procedure. "They probably have found what they're looking for," Kate said with a troubling tone. "Then we have no time to waste," Lee said, commanding everyone to charge ahead and move swiftly. In the back of Locus's mind he wondered if they were too late or if they still had a chance.
