Chapter 3 - Name Giving Ceremony (Part 1)

After finishing my morning chores, I got dressed up and came down to the dining space for my meal. Here, I was greeted by my father and my sibling except for my eldest sister, as she was on a mission for the country.

Did I introduce you guys to my country?

Well! Never mind!

The name of this country is Sempra Empire, and we are the resident of one of the southernmost cities known as Seabach City. It got its name from the seashore that is situated by the side of the city.

When my mother and my sibling took me to the shore for the first time, I was amazed by the beauty of nature. According to my mother, this sight was very common for this country, and there are many beaches like this one.

"When you would turn 10, I would allow you to come out and play around the family beach then but not now. Don't even try to use those old tactics on me as I would not entertain any of those thoughts of yours. " that what my mother told me even before I can say anything to her.

Ugh!

Well! Whatever! After the age of 10, I would achieve the initial freedom from the confinement of my parents.

I think that it would be enough for the introduction regarding my place and the empire.

After eating breakfast, my mother forced our family to get dressed in good clothes and made my father prepare a carriage for going to the main temple situated in the center of the city. Though it was not the first time I was seeing the magic carriage it was still amazing to see such technological advancement even if they are using magic for operating it.

We finally got dressed up and entered into the carriage to depart for our destination. It was the first time I was about to get introduced to this new world outside the premises of our home. I was excited and ready to get surprised as I always wonder about various amazing things that this world might be keeping inside its belly for me to discover.

After coming out of our home premises, I realized that we are pretty rich. I realized that I don't know anything about my parent or their occupation. Just at one glance, I can tell that they are pretty important as several people are guarding our carriages.

Wondering I asked "Mom, what is your job, and what about Pops?"

"Heh! Now you are wondering about our jobs. I thought you would be curious and ask about it much earlier. Honey! Your son wants to know about your job. Mind enlightening us about your daily job." My mother answered me with a smirk on her face.

"Really! Let's see! Your mother is a great healer, and for me I head commander of the southern region. In other words, your mother is a doctor, and your father is a soldier. Would that be enough for your curiosity?" dad replied.

I nodded like a chicken making my whole family smile. Then I concentrated outside our carriage to observe other people and the society of this world.

At first glance, I can tell that our city is not fully developed, and it belongs to the later medieval western period. Most of the buildings are constructed with a wooden block while slightly better households or shops are constructed with stone blocks. I don't know the binding materials but it was not cement.

At this point, I thought about introducing roman cement as one of the binding agents but it might be troublesome to explain it to my parents.

Ugh! I want to do so much but my age has been a tight restriction on me.

Thinking about such things, we reached a grand temple where lots of people were waiting for our arrival. They seem to be pretty excited about this name-giving ceremony. In this place, I was introduced to several close colleagues of my parents and friends of my elder siblings. As the youngest child, I didn't have any friends at the moment nor do any family member or our family acquaintances have any child of my age.

Along with them, there are many other family members that I have no idea about came to this ceremony. It was like a party, and my parents were the host of this party. In the temple, for the first time, I got introduced to my grandparents from both mother's and father's side. From their faces, it seems like they have great expectations from me which I think bothered my mom very much. And from the look of my parent's faces, they don't seem too fond of both sets of grandparents.

Well, whatever happens, it doesn't seem to bother me as the number of people seems to only increase by the time of the actual ceremony.
