I could hear angry voices outside my Apartment, which told me that a situation might arise.. very soon.
I flung myself up out of my comfortable thick bedspread; I closed my eyes willing my familiars to be ready, should I require it.
I then pulled a light brown loose-fitted dress over my head and wrapped my uncovered arms in a white hoodie.
'Who is there?'. I spoke in a loud and clear voice.
'Brax, go back to the House. I will not have her thinking that I have abandoned her willingly'. My sister, Annabelle's irritated voice echoed outside.
I stared in disbelief at my door, oddly scared to open the door.
'You and I both know, she could hurt you'. Braxton scolded her.
How would I even be able to get away? I was afraid to even see her after so many years of being apart.
'IF YOU SO MUCH AS TRY TO ENTER I WILL TELL MOTHER ABOUT YOUR NEW INFORMATION!!'. I screamed from the top of my lungs.
'I told you this was a terrible idea'. Braxton spat, angrily.
The door then burst open and I stood in fear, as my hellhounds leapt at his arms; blood trickled down his perfect biceps and he snarled angrily in an attempt to scare them off of him. This, was also when my eyes met my elder sister's for the first time in years.
Annabelle was short and skinny, with bright green eyes. Her long, choppy, yet curly, blonde hair ran past her hips. Despite her petite figure, it was hard to miss her slight bulging stomach.. she is pregnant.. my sister is pregnant.
All the saliva left my mouth and I felt it go as dry as sand; she gave me a small smile in response to my agape expression.
'Please, call off your hounds'. She added with a little laugh.
I frowned deeply as I gazed at Braxton and the blood dripping onto my carpet.
'That would be appreciated'. He growled, through clenched teeth, as he desperately tried to shake my hellhounds off of his bloody biceps.
I closed my eyes, frowning.
'Enough, they mean me no harm, right now'.
'Uhm I have a Bathroom straight through the Hallway onto your right'. I muttered apologetically, as my eyes met Braxton's beautiful unusual eyes.
'That is appreciated'. He scoffed, pulling his shirt off and wrapping his biceps into it, to avoid any more blood oozing into the carpet.
Be still my heart. This Werewolf was.. really too perfect for my own good.
Why can I not stop staring at him?
I gulped in response.
His perfect tight abdominal muscles were now on full view; I knew my face was probably bright red. My heart was racing and I had a hell of a lot of saliva in my mouth. This man was so sexy it was too intense.
Annabelle giggled at my reaction, clearly amused by my.. innocence.
'I see you have not learnt to control your emotions, there is hope for you yet'. She smirked teasingly.
Braxton's eyes met mine and he scoffed at me; he then shook his head and walked towards the Hallway. This left my sister and I alone in my Apartment.
'We should talk in my Living Room'. I spoke quietly.
'Lead the way, Aria'. She smiled awkwardly at me, holding her bump, as she slowly followed me.
My chest felt tight, as she reminded me so much of what she used to be like.. but I knew different.. my sister was now a Werewolf.
She sat on my black leather sofa and patted the cushion next to her; I reluctantly sat next to her and just kept staring at the bump, where her once flat stomach used to be.
'Would you like to feel him kick?'. She smiled excitedly.
My hand shook at the idea of feeling my.. nephew say hello.. but I knew this was just a distraction on her part.. this was her trying to play on my emotions so I did not tell anyone she was actually alive.
'No'. I whispered, unhappily.
She gave me an all-knowing sad smile in response.
'Very well, I came here on a mission. I assume you were sent to complete the mission that I failed'. She spoke matter-of-factly.
It was then that a large male stormed into the room looking very pissed off and I froze in shock and in fear; did I attack him or not?
'Where the fuck is Brax!? And why is he not with you. This girl is dangerous, Anna!'. He snarled, angrily at Annabelle.
I stood up and glared at my newest intruder.
'GET OUT!'.
My lightning magic began to throw sparks at him, in warning.
He glared at me but then leapt over to my sister shielding her from what he perceived to be me attacking; his large hands then grabbed my throat and threw me into the adjacent wall. I coughed on impact, spitting out blood on the floor.
'ARIA IS NOT A THREAT!'. She snarled, giving me an oddly protective glance.
And unfortunately Braxton came out of the Bathroom, shirtless and biceps wrapped in what used to be his shirt; showing that I was actually a threat.
'This discussion is over'. The Alpha ordered.
Annabelle and Braxton simply stared at the ground unhappily.
'One shout and your own member and wife are afraid of you? How on earth could my sister be with such a bully'. I snapped, disapprovingly of him.
He scowled at me but nobody spoke further.. until he turned to leave.
'The Clayton Wolves are acting suspiciously near our Territory. I refuse to allow my wife to put our unborn child's life at risk to talk to the enemy'. He spat, just before he grabbed my sister's arm and stormed out of my Apartment.
'Brax!?'. The Alpha shouted, questioningly.
'I am going to keep an eye on Town, sir'. Braxton spoke uncomfortably.
'Very well, be careful around IT'. The Alpha spat.
IT being me, because I am a Witch. We were often perceived as evil creatures.. in many cultures and stories.
Braxton then wrinkled his nose eyeing me worriedly, as my legs were about to give out. In seconds, he caught me and placed me down onto my sofa.
'You must have hit the wall pretty hard, huh?'. He sighed, unhappily.
'Why did you stay?'. I whispered, weakly.
'Aria, tell me where it hurts'. He frowned.
I smiled, as I stared at his perfect features; the side of his hair that was not shaven looked so fluffy and I could not help myself.. I had to touch his long, white curls, that hung over his bare chest loosely.
He gulped in response but closed his eyes, clearly enjoying the attention.
'Braxton?'. I blushed, feeling very shy, but oddly enjoying his reaction to my touch.
He smirked at me with slightly pink cheeks.
'You can call me Brax, Aria'.
Brax then touched my red cheeks with his fingertips; I felt a strange but cold sensation. And just like that my pain seemed to vanish.. he did this.. he managed to take away my pain.
'How?'. I gasped.
He smiled, as he lifted my legs and sat beside me on the sofa. My legs were placed onto his lap, so that he was no longer kneeling or bending near me.
'Sleep, I will protect you'. He smiled sheepishly at me and then began to close his eyes.
