"So, according to you, I only left one year to live?" Ridhima questions.
"Yes,", The voice in her head replied.
"I don't believe. I am just 29 years old. I don't do any crime ever" Ridhima said.
"I know. But every day, thousands of people die, and most don't do much wrong either," The voice replied.
"I think I am getting insane to listen to this voice in my head which is telling me that I am going to die", Ridhima can't help but say.
In the morning, she suddenly started to feel a stomach ache. It has been a week since she has had this stomach ache and acidity problem. But she thinks it is due to her unhealthy habits and workload, but who has thought that when she goes to the hospital for checkup, the doctor tell her to do various tests.
She also gets a little scared and goes to lab to check. But She don't know if her luck is too bad, while returning home, she get in an accident. Thankfully, her injuries are not much. But after the accident, she started to hear this voice.
"You are not insane. It just god pitied you and gave you a chance," The voice said.
"What pitted me? If he pitied me, then he should let me live a longer life," Ridhima can't help but reply.
"Life should be deeper, not longer", The voice said in a filmy way.
"I think I am insane", Ridhima said and decided not to think.
"Okay, if you don't want to believe it then don't , you will soon know about your boss's new affair and the doctor will give you information about your health. Only then will you believe me" After saying that, the voice in her head stopped.
Ridhima was still in her thoughts when her phone rang.
"Hello, Ridhima boss. Where are you?" Ridhima sees it is her assistant Sai calling her.
"What's the matter, Sai?" Ridhima remembers the word of her mysterious voice and can't help but questions Sai.
"Boss, you are not in the office today, and big boss, bring that girl who with you have fought that day. Come and take our office back. The boss even told me she will work as his secretary from now on."
"What?" Ridhima can't help but get surprised.
"Ttyl boss, come early" Sai suddenly said and hang up the phone.
Here Ridhima is thinking about the voice. The voice tells her she will learn about her boss's affair. And she knows there is something between this girl and her boss so... the voice is telling the truth. While she is still confirming, the doctor also arrives there.
"Ridhiima, right? I got your report and I think we need further tests," The doctor said.
"Is there anything serious?" Ridhima can't help but ask questions.
"I am also not sure, but I think this is the case of cancer", The doctor replied.
"Oh..." Ridhima remembers what the mysterious voice tells her and can't help, but some tears gather in her eyes.
"Hey, don't cry. It is not like it is confirmed" The doctor who comes to tell her to gets panicked. His best friend Ram is their mutual friend, so he decided to put extra care on her, but who thought this case would happen like this?
"I understand. Doctor, can you do me a favour?" Ridhima, after controlling her emotions, questioned him.
"Yes", The doctor replied.
"Please don't tell Ram about this, okay?" Ridhima questions.
"yes, we respect our patient's privacy", The doctor replied. After that, they talk about her injuries and Ridhima complete her discharge procedure.
When she returned home, she was again unable to stand to the thought of death and started crying.
After venting her emotions, she decided to talk with that voice. Now she doesn't have any doubt about its power.
"So now you believe me, huh? It is the world where people believe God if he does a miracle" The voice nagged her.
"So, are you God?" Ridhima can't help but ask questions.
"No, but you can take me as God's assistant", The voice replied.
"Now, can you help me? Can't you let me live a few more years? I am still single; I don't even see half the world. I am just twenty-eight years old," Ridhima requested the voice.
"I am sorry, but that is not possible", The voice replied.
"Oh....then what is the purpose of telling me this. Anyway, tomorrow, when I get my reports, I will learn about this?" Ridhima questions.
"Yes, but the report might not tell you your exact lifespan. And you might have to wait for longer. You have to do other tests and then might take treatment..." The voice wanted to continue, but Rdihima interrupted it.
"But those treatments are all in vain, right? Because I only have one year to live," The voice replied.
"Yes. But the main reason to tell you this is you need to help me" The voice said.
"Are you really God's assistant?" Rdihima can't help but ask questions.
"Of course. Wait, I will give you something to read. You can only ask me questions after reading it. Otherwise, you will interrupt me," The voice said, and then Ridhima suddenly saw a book in front of her. The book is sparkling, and suddenly, the book opens, and one page arrives in front of her
