Chapter 19 - Wolves and sheep travelling together Part 1

After what seemed like an eternity, a couple more hours passed and Eluraa walked out of the advanced cultivation classroom, completely exhausted and mentally drained.

Cultivation in itself was extremely tiresome, but that coupled with these ridiculous social interactions entirely exhausted all her energy. She felt like a twig swaying in the wind.

Mustering all her remaining energy she quickly mingled with the crowd of the students exiting different classrooms and disappeared from the eyes of the fatty and a certain someone else.

After walking for a while, Eluraa finally reached a deserted corner of the school. She sat down and slowly nibbled on the lunch parcel she had hurriedly grabbed from the canteen.

As she gazed at the vast endless sky, a mixture of emotions crossed her breathtakingly stunning face.

After being in this school for a little over a week, she now noticed several things. There was a clear demarcated hierarchy based on social structure prevalent in the school.

Normally, she wouldn't really mind systems like these. But, she had an inkling that this might be an issue in the near future.

For instance, in the second half of her day, she was supposed to be tutoring under a teacher to learn combat mastery.

Different teachers in the institute specialized in different combat arts and the students were given complete independence to approach any teacher and request them for tutelage.

Eluraa had already tried approaching a few of them this past couple of days, but nobody even spared her a glance.

And it was not like she could neglect the combat arts. Combat mastery is indeed a life-saving attribute!

After empowering herself with the knowledge of this world, even she herself realized only recently about the importance of combat arts.

Your beasts could be trapped. Your magic could be blocked. At the end of the day, only sheer strength and raw combat talent will save your life!

Someone who focussed too much on the mana cultivation and neglected the combat arts would definitely be at a disadvantage one day or the other.

A fish can only twitch if it is taken out of water. Eluraa did not want to be like that.

So she kept noodling this issue, again and again, trying to come up with some sort of idea to capture the attention of a swordmaster.

It was not like she was a complete newbie when it came to sword mastery.

Though her tribal village was isolated, they still believed in strength and placed the utmost importance on training their younger generations, even the girl children in some sort of combat art.

Since Eluraa's dad was proficient in using dual swords, he had trained her from a young age in dual sword usage.

The father and daughter pair had practiced merely basic sword moves, but still, years and years of practice definitely helped her become familiar with the weapon itself and its general usage.

She might not be the best at it, but she was surely confident enough to impress a teacher for tutelage. Now, if only they could give her a chance!!

Eluraa sighed as she withdrew her gaze from the boundless sky and the swarm of clouds swimming in them. She quickly finished her lunch and summoned a small water orb to wash her face and hands.

There was a twinkle in her eyes as she steadily walked out of the classroom grounds and into the main administration building.

She had already found a solution to her problem!

Eluraa walked over to the fourth floor of the tall building, where she headed straight into the huge hall on the left.

Even before she entered, Eluraa already saw the signs of a storm brewing.

"Why did I have to meet with this hag again?" Eluraa cursed her bad luck, but she still kept going forward, as she had no other options.

A huge sandal colored board hung on the hall backdrop in which dozens of papers were stuck haphazardly.

In front of the enormous bulletin board, a middle-aged homely looking woman was sitting amidst paper mountains and attentively chatting with a familiar figure.

From the looks of it, the duo seemed to be particularly close and could even be good friends.

The woman on the left should be the mission administrator for the campus.

Suitable missions were posted on the school mission bulletin board, which could be voluntarily attempted by the students for progress in their combatant rank.

Eluraa thought of this method to raise her combatant rank and at least reach a trainee level.

This should help her grab the attention of the school elders and teachers, allowing her to easily receive some helpful resources, even with the obvious bias towards commoners.

But unfortunately for her, the sensual voluptuous woman standing next to the mission administrator and chatting happily with her was the famous teacher Zhang.

And Eluraa had just crossed paths with her this morning, with the bitter aftertaste still left in her mouth.
