Chapter 17 - Multi-element affinity

Eluraa's soft voice silenced the entire class, commanding the attention of teacher Zhang.

"Wow, where did this chick come from? She is actually talking back to Zhang teacher?"

"Already offered my prayers for her."

"Didn't she just get promoted from the basic class?"

The entire class started murmuring, and teacher Zhang was now clearly ten shades angrier, "What an arrogant brat! Fine. Let's see if you have the talent to back it up."

Eluraa revealed a small smirk hidden behind her meticulously placed mask.

Under the prying eyes of the entire classroom, Eluraa magically materialized a ball of water.

Gasps could be heard all over the class, with many students fuming with jealously.

They were precisely here, having been held back, because they couldn't do what Eluraa just did.

But the voluptuous teacher Zhang still seemed to be very unimpressed.

She simply tossed her long black hair behind and mocked, "Hmm... This much attitude for a mere single element low-tier baby mage."

Combatants who are able to wield their mana as weapons were specifically called Mages.

Hiding the frustration in her voice, she angrily scoffed, "Heh... Fine. Get out of my class. But if you dare to talk back to me again, you might find yourself outside of these academy gates."

She then indifferently tore a slip from her chart and scribbled something, before handing it over to Eluraa.

Eluraa took the slip from her but still stood there, with her cold piercing eyes fixated on the teacher.

She wasn't going to reveal everything about her, but at the same time, she wasn't going to lie down and act like a spineless doormat, for everyone to step on her.

After all, this academy nonsense was only a mere supplement to her. She couldn't care less if she was kicked out or not.

"Pardon me, Teacher Zhang. I still haven't finished my demonstration."

Ignoring the annoyed look on teacher Zhang's face, Eluraa then proceeded to materialize a second element, a ball of flame and a third element, a ball of air.

Many mages were able to successfully form connections with the more than one elemental, so that wasn't an unusual occurrence.

But, she actually managed to manipulate her mana enough to materialize three elements at the same time.

Only high-tier mages with complete mastery over their elemental connections were able to achieve such a feat.

Teacher Zhang finally got flustered and stood up from her throne.

She could no longer hide the surprise in her tone and involuntarily blurted out, "You... You can control three elements at the same time??"

There was pin-drop silence in the class. There was a monster standing in front of them!

Teacher Zhang quickly collected herself again and this time with a slightly less haughty tone murmured, "As I said, you are already approved to take the next class."

She then looked away with an expressionless face and busied herself with some papers.

Eluraa chuckled slightly and left the class, with a satisfied smile.

She didn't see, but after Eluraa left, teacher Zhang banged the table with her fist, frightening the entire classroom.

"Commoner scum. I will put you in place sooner or later." Teacher Zhang mumbled under her breath with a strange inexplicable expression on her face.

Eluraa on the other hand skipped over to the next class, chuckling lightly.

She was in a very good mood, after her previous altercation. "Looks like being reckless is a lot of fun."

She was not a child to behave arrogantly without thinking through it.

In fact, everything she had done was based on careful thinking and meticulous consideration.

In the one week she spent perusing the library, she came to know many things. Having more than one elemental affinity was not really an unusual thing.

After all, there were several more important factors such as the grade of your affinity, the strength of your mana core, and so on.

With this very obvious bias between commoners and noble lineage spawns, Eluraa decided that she had to make herself shine at least a bit to grab a modest amount of attention, and thereby academy resources.

If not, she was pretty sure, she would get none of the opportunities and would only be stepped on at every possible juncture.

So, technically everything went according to her plan, and this was just the first step.

There were still two more hours to go till the morning classes ended.

"I might as well take this chance to get acquainted with the advanced cultivation class as well."

She walked over to the next class, which finally had students of her age!

Unfortunately, that included the particularly memorable fatso she had run into on her very first day at the academy.
