Love has truly found its way with these two fated soul. Since the unexpected confession of Luke, they started going out secretly. It was Gab's idea on the first place. At first, Luke disagree with this set up. He even questioned Gab about this. But Gab insisted on making their relationship in secret for the meantime since it was only too quick to happen—from being mortal enemy to lovers. Plus, she don't want to break Chad's heart who has been there for her since the beginning.
After Luke left for the States, Chad slowly makes an effort to express what he truly feels for Gab. From staying beside her after Lolo Ben died to Gab's moving on to the city, he was there. He cheered for her whenever he feels sad and lonely. He helps her at school. No one bullied Gab because she always got a knight-in-shining armour—in the character of Chad. They walk together going to school as well as coming home. He cries with her every death anniversary. He laughs with her every achievement she got. He eats with her. But the best thing he had done is when he grows with her every single day.
Well, after college, Chad decided to confess his feelings towards Gab. At first, he was hesitant to admit it but after mustering his courage, he was able to confess. But sad to say he was rejected. Not that he wasn't appreciated by Gab, but because according to Gab, she loves Chad just like as a family—a best friend and she don't want that their friendship will just be ruin because of that stupid love. During work, they were really good actors though struggling actors especially Luke. He can't resist not to see her or hug her that most of the times, he always summon her at his office. He frequently asked for some documents and papers to be submitted by Gab personally. Every morning, they go together for work but only separates when they are near the premises of the company. They go coffee dates, of course only after a client meeting and lunch dates with the team. After work, either of them offs earlier so that no one takes suspicious about them. They usually take dinner on restaurants far from the city or those with more private venue. At weekend, they sometimes went to the countryside. Camping on the mountains. Picnics by the beach—a private beach resort to be exact. One time when they were really busy at work, they had an unexpected helicopter date just to arrive on time to their island hopping trip. They were like celebrities who always hide and seek with their paparazzi. Well, everything goes smoothly for these two. Not even a single news was aired regarding their real relationship. Thanks to Luke's power and great team who always work and thinks ahead. Their "secret relationship" wasn't revealed even to Luke's family.
Luke's life was holistically changed. Before, he doesn't buy any groceries and stuff because he rarely eat at home. He was always with his friends eating outside. But now, he enjoys food cooked at home especially Gab's recipes. They enjoys eating together. Laughing together. Washing the dishes together. Cleaning the house together. Buying groceries together. After dinner, they watched TV while drinking wine. Gab even spent the night at Luke's place. Seeing her around, sleeping with the same bed when morning comes, puts him into smile. They spent and enjoyed every little things together.
Not until one day, a woman dressed elegantly came to Luke's intimate birthday party set-up by his friends. She was none other than Luke's fiancée or shall we say ex-fiancée after she broke their engagement 4 years ago. She was the daughter and the sole heir of L&C Group of Companies—a multinational company that engage in hotels, resorts and restaurants all over the world. Their engagement were actually decided by their parents since they were a child. But because of Luke's circumstances, it was cancelled. But after Luke's full recovery, when he left for the States and take a surgery, their engagement was pursued by both parties. Well, because Luke was so depressed, he wanted to have someone who accompanies him and he get used with Amanda. They started as good friends. Shared secrets together. They were used of the idea of fix marriage. But after, finishing a business course, Amanda pursued photography. She enjoyed traveling from different places. Knowing every countries' history and culture. She feels the kind of happiness she haven't felt before. She feels freedom. When she went back, she broke their engagement and throws her rich life—she wanted to start a new life away from her family's wealth and fame. Well, Luke wasn't really heartbroken at all because he just thought every things that connect him with her were just purely business. But after a long years, they meet again. Not just any typical day but on Luke's special day. Fortunately, Gab wasn't there since she was still on the way. She made a cake for Luke and bought a gift.
Will first saw her. "Amanda?" "Hey! What's up? Wow! You look gorgeous, as always. Well, it's been like 4 years since we haven't seen each other."
"Hi!" Matt greeted her. "Where have you been all these years?"
"Hi! Luke." She greeted extending her arms. "How are you?"
But Luke wasn't seem happy to see her. Not today especially his girlfriend is coming. "I'm good."
"Hey! Where did you know that we are here?" Matt asked.
Amanda just taking a gaze on Will confirming that he was the one who told her about this party.
"Oh! I'm sorry guys. Well, I didn't know she will really come. We're just having chit-chats like a week ago. You know saying hello to each other. Catching up a bit. Then I suddenly punch a joke on her and I don't know she will really come." Will explained with an apologetic face.
"Amanda have seat and suit yourself, okay." Matt added.
They were having fun after seeing their old friend. Amanda is such a sociable person. She gets along easily with other girls present in the party. But of course, Luke wasn't happy at all. He feels something absurd with having Amanda around. Plus, he haven't told Gab about her. Gab was honest enough to tell him about Chad's feelings towards her and assures him that he's nothing to get jealous with.
"Hey! Luke. Are you okay? It's your birthday. You should be happy. Plus, Amanda is here. Isn't she's the one you've been missing with all these years?" Will laughingly asked.
"Yeah!" Matt stopped him from talking. "Will you please keep your mouth shut?"
"Why?" Will sarcastically added. "What's the matter Luke? I mean, the one you have with Gab isn't just a play-along drama. I mean the one we've talked before, the bet remember?"
"Yeah!" "Can you just keep quite?" Matt furiously drag him to silence but Will won't stop talking.
Not until when a slam on the door was heard. The three of them stop and Luke suddenly remembers Gab's message that she's coming within 10 minutes. Luke immediately rush to the door. As he opens it he saw a wrecked cake. He got a wrong feeling about this so he called Gab immediately. On the other side, Gab was crying and catching her breathe. A lot of things were running into her mind. After calming herself, she picks up her phone.
"Yes." Gab holds back her tears.
"Where are you?" Luke calmly asked.
"I'm sorry. Something came up at home. I need to go home right now." Gab tells him.
"Really? It's okay. Take care. And call me right away when you arrived home, okay? Bye! I love you." Luke uttered.
"Mmm. Bye." Then she cried.
Gab had a hard time processing everything. She doesn't want to go home and cause any trouble. Instead, she just went to the beach. While crying, she tries to reconnect everything to the idea that it was all a lie—everything was just a pretence. Now, everything makes sense to her. At first, she was also hesitant to believe Luke's confession since just a week ago, he was really mad at him. But after hearing that it was all a game—a bet. She pity herself. How come she easily believes everything he said? How come she thought he was sincere? How fool she was? How dumb she was all this time?
Gab filed an emergency leave thru an email. She don't know what to do and just wanted to be far from all the people. She wanted to have a piece of mind. She did not accept any call from anyone after he accept Luke's call. She went to a farm house in the countryside to take a fresh air.
Meanwhile, in the office, everyone were very busy. When Luke arrived, he immediately search for Gab who is out of reach since he called early this morning. He tried to call her again but no one responded. His guts telling him something is wrong. He asked Pat if Gab already arrives but she just said that Gab is nowhere to be found—she has also been calling her since last night because of the latest design for their quarter launch. Then, an email was sent to the company's email informing Gab's immediate leave for 1 week due to personal reason. Luke was stunned so he tried calling her again but the phone was turned off. Luke was seem distracted even during their meeting, he can't focus and keeps on thinking the real reason of Gab's sudden disappearance. After the meeting he immediately look for her. He went to the foundation but she's not there. He went to the park but she's still not there. He search for her on her favourite coffee shop. He looked every corner but she's nowhere to be found. He's worried a lot. The last resort he thought was Gab's house. He hesitate in knocking the door. He walks from and to when Chad arrives.
"What are you doing here?" He irately asked. "Don't tell me you're looking for Gab. Why? I mean is that the work of a boss towards his merely employee. And I bet you're not here to say hello to me. As far as I could remember, where not that close before even until now." He mockingly continued.
Luke bite his lips and pretends to laugh. "Ahhh… Yes. I'm looking for her. She's not answering her phone since this morning and she filed an immediate leave due to personal reason. I just wanted to know the specific reason since as you told me I'm the boss and we have a very important project for now and she's the in-charge of it."
"What?" Chad worriedly asked. He tried to call her but still the phone was turned off. Now, he was totally pissed off and grab Luke's collar. "Yeah! What have you done this time, huh? The last time that she's out of contact, you made her cry and spent the night outside. Just don't let me know that this has something to do with you, or else, I wouldn't know what I will do to you." Then fiercely pushes him to the wall.
On the other hand, Gab enjoys her life in the farm. She wakes up early in the morning. A farm caretaker, prepares her breakfast. She loves it so much since she's been missing a life in the farm for more than 15 years now. She closes her eyes while a ray of sunshine hits her face and smells the hot coffee. These little things puts her into smile. After breakfast, she visited the strawberry farm. She enjoys picking strawberries that she even sneakily eat some of it. In the afternoon, she visited a flower garden. She volunteered in planting new flowering plants and was listening attentively to the caretaker. When 3 days passed, she was busy taking milk on the cow when a car arrives. The caretaker rush to welcome the visitor. He roams around when he saw that someone was having a hard time taking milk on the cow. He immediately punch a joke when he notice it was Gab after all.
Gab was shocked. "Oh!" (It's Mr Montejo's son, Blake—the one she supposed to have a blind date, the one that receives Luke's punch.) She thought while feeling a bit nervous.
"Hi!" Blake smilingly greeted offering his hand to help Gab.
But resisted since she was so dirty and Blake was in formal suits. She don't want to ruin his outfit. Gab apologizes to Blake about what happen before with her boss. She was really sorry but luckily Blake is not the type of person who keeps hatred in his heart. He even asked her if, it is okay if Gab will just talk to him casually since they are not talking about business.
Blake Montejo, the only son of Mr Arnold Montejo is the sole heir of Montejo shopping malls in abroad and in Asia. And happens to be the owner of the farm that Gab visited. After a weeks of business trip, he never forgets to visit their farm.
Gab was even so glad to meet Blake unexpectedly and spent the rest of her vacation with him. Blake takes the job a tour guide for Gab as they roam all places in the farm. Their love for farming was really a big help in making these two closer. At night, they do camp fire and taking a sip of a hot chocolate drink while telling stories about their lives. Gab even learned how to properly get a cow's milk. They were even playing with the water hose after watering the plants in the garden. Running. Laughing. Happiness was all around. And for a while Gab forgets her pain. On the way home, they took a picture together, smiling their hearts out. Gab was very satisfied with her one week vacation in the farm not only because she forget her pain but because she found a new friend, Blake.
Meanwhile, in the city, Luke was very worried about Gab. She's out of coverage area for the whole week. NO one knows where she was except Chad whom received a message from Gab telling him not to worry and she will just be having a vacation for one week. Chad did not further asked Gab about it. He just let her take a rest. He knew Gab all these years. And she will talk when she's ready. Luke was even asking the help of the police but they won't budge in since Luke was not Gab's immediate family. So, he just search for her all alone. Sometimes, his friends help him. When one day, while he was scrolling Gab's IG account, he saw a new post on the feed. Oh no! He was a bit pissed off seeing Gab with another man. Taking a pic and were so close to each other. He was pissed off since he was really worry about her and suddenly he will know that he was just with another man. A lot of weird thoughts was on his mind.
Lies. They are sweet at first but when it exploded, it damages everything. It ruins even the trust you have built for years. They are like mugs that when it is damaged, no matter how you put up the pieces together, it won't be as furnish as before. Marks will never be erased. Just like in someone's heart, scars will remain.
