This was my first job and yet, I couldn't help but find it interesting.
I was the night security guard for the largest, and only museum in town. It was recently built and I couldn't help but be glad. I loved history as a child and saw joy thinking about how life would have been in the old days. The thoughts of what might people would have been like, who was the one who created what appeared in the museum, their thoughts and joys. It was my favorite topic in school. Before, my parents were well off and worked hard enough to place a roof over my head and food on the table. But, due to certain life events. We had to move away from the city and thus, came to a small town with historical significance.
I was young at that time and recently started middle school. Being a small town, I learned to live with the idea that everyone knew everyone. I was pretty much that lonely kid back in my days. Always the wallflower and someone that you never knew was there until you hear him speak.
I was okay with that.
I liked being alone in my thoughts, drawing pictures (lewd ones because of puberty), being the sole member of the music club, and enjoying my days as a normal kid. I did have a few friends and was part of a group. This went on until the day I graduated. My group of friends left town one by one and not too long, I was the only one he stayed behind.
I still didn't know what I wanted to do in life.
It wasn't until my parents threatened me with eviction that I had to look for a job or apply for a college. Thankfully, there was an open position in the museum for the night security guard. Being the night owl I was, I thought it was an amazing opportunity to have the whole place to myself.
When I looked into the position, I learned that it offered a large sum of money per hour. Being the young, naive young adult. I applied for the job. Not even a full day later, I got an email back telling me that they have reviewed my application and asked me when I can work. It didn't even ask for any certification or resume. Only expressing interest in how soon I may be able to work.
It wasn't until the next day that I found myself in front of the office of the sole owner of the museum.
A gruff, old voice called me out from the room. "Come in."
Spoiler
"Hello sir. My name is Robert Young, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hello to you, young man. I'm a bit pleased to hear someone is interested in our new position. I'm the owner of the museum and many of the artifacts in it."
I was surprised to hear about this. To think that not only is he the one who made the giant building, he's the owner and archeologist.
"Thank you, sir. I'm just wondering if there's anything I should know before I start." I asked.
He snapped his fingers, as if finally remembering something.
"Oh yes! I almost forgot," He leaned down to bring out a large binder.
"Here we go," Blowing out the dust, "This right here are the rules you have to follow. Each day has a different set of rules and must be followed to a T."
"Really?" I asked him.
"Yup, if you can do all of them and survive. I'll even add a couple more hundred dollars to your first paycheck."
"W-Wow." I said, in shock. Ignoring why exactly he said survive.
"I'm already given $60 per hour. And this is going to be a 9-hour shift, the whole 6 days a week with Sunday off. Holy shit, I think I hit the jackpot." I smiled brightly at the thought.
"Of course, that is if you can deal with handling my museum for the night. Just know that I will be impressed if you can make it past the first night." He said to me,
"No problem, sir! You can count on me to keep your things safe and sound." I said,
"Hmmm. Alright then, Mr. Young. Before I leave, I would like to introduce myself as it is very ungentleman-like to not introduce oneself. My name is A̷̛̠͚̖͔̠̫͙͂̔̿́́͒͆̊̿́͗̍̄̄̈́̈́͝d̸̛̛̗͌̍̂̓̈́̃̑̿͑̀̕̚͝ḁ̸̮̲̯͇̺̺̰͈͎̥͎̫̥̤̫̳͇̤̀̾̃͐͑́̾̄́̇́́͒̈́͜͠͝ͅĺ̸̡̠̘̥̭̜̜͈̥̙̖́̄͐̒̌̋̊͛̐͝w̶̧̡̢̧̛̙̳̩͔̹̰̦̯͖̤̉̀͌̅̐̒̎̈́͐͘̕͝ȉ̸̺͍̣̑͋̆͂͝n̴̡̧̖̘̞̩̈̏̍͆̓̆̑͂͝. It is nice to meet you."
I cleaned my ears because I think I didn't hear him right in the first place.
"I'm sorry sir, but I believe I didn't catch that."
"Oh, no worries' son. It's Adalwin and inside the binder is my contact information. Just in case anything happens to the museum or the artifacts inside the containers." He waved me off.
"Okay then. Thank you for the opportunity sir. I won't let you down."
"Kekekekeke. I hope so, son. Or there will be dire consequences." Said Aldwin in a menacing tone.
"Of course sir."
"I honestly don't want to pay a fine. Sounds like these things are very expensive."
As he left, I opened the binder to read out the first set of rules.
#1 Lock the front entrance and door through the security desk.
Obviously. I mean, it's self explanatory since this museum must have cost millions of dollars to make. The place is as tight and secure with technology that even I have no clue in. Seems a bit futuristic but I don't really care.
#2 Follow the rules if you want to live through the night. Do NOT break a single one.
#3 Have your pistol, flashlight, and phone on you the whole time.
Patting my pistol, I walked to the main hall. In front of me was a small statue that held a fertility figure. Standing in front of it, I bowed.
#4 Show respect to the first artifact you see in display. Afterwards, say the following line.
"Hello, my name is ____. It is a pleasure to see you again. I am happy to take you on a date once more. Allow me to carry you my lady. May we have a grand time on this date."
It shall be carried with you throughout your shift. Do NOT lose it, abandon, or drop it and take it everywhere you go. And yes, even the restroom.
After saying the same lines I've said for the past 4 years. I walked to the statue and picked it up softly with care. I looked around first to see if there was anything amiss. Finding none, I looked down at the statue. It was supposedly the statue of the Egyptian goddess, Hathor.
"Heh, I guess it's going to be another long date, Ms. Hathor. I hope your husband won't come and smite me." I said, looking down at the figure with a slight smile.
"Oh, who am I kidding. No one is even here! I'm by myself in this giant museum. But then again, I'm a bit lonely. This does make things interesting to myself." I said to myself.
"Ain't that right, Ms. Hathor?" I said, looking down at the statue that was held in my arms.
#5 Look at each section and figure out what the date is. Depending on what day it is during your shift, follow the set of rules that matches the day of the shift. I repeat, FOLLOW THE RULES WORD BY WORD!!
Since today was Monday, I looked down into the basement section of the museum.
"Well, it looks like we're going into the ancient section once again, Ms. Hathor. Hope you ain't scared of the dark~" I teased the statue.
"..."
"Don't worry, your knight with shining light is going to protect you from all the scary things in the dark. Hope you can keep up with this young guy. 23 years old and still counting!" I said with a grin.
Another reason why I liked my job, I get to be weird as heck whenever I want and talk to the things as if they were people. And no one was the wiser. As I walked down the stairs, I had a sudden epiphany.
"You know, I always wondered why this place never has security cameras," I said out loud and then shrugged, "I guess, maybe, Mr. Aldwin didn't have enough money to get the cameras after buying all that high-tech locks and gates to protect the museum. That's why he hired me, I guess."
Walking down, I readied myself for another night inside the giant museum of history and mysteries.
Spoiler
From Ideas Thread and liked the idea too much that I had to write this. A Clueless Security guard somehow makes a living in the world's dangerous, anomalous museum and survives it for 4 years straight.
SCP Foundation-ish organization finds out about this and chaos ensues.
Also, the cryptids, monsters, gods and goddesses stuck inside the place likes the guard as he followed the rules and got to know him throughout the years. A bit too much, that is. May his pelvis RIP.

Read out each artifact's information, displayed for the public out loud. Do this for every artifact and/or information displayed for the public. They like being noticed and your attention.
"This staff was considered a sacred artifact by the native tribes of the new world. It was said, it held powers to control their environment, convert the denizens into higher beings, and even said to bring eternal life." I said to no one but the statue I was carrying.
"Said staff was also considered an heirloom to a mysterious tribe. Passed down from chief to the next generation as a way to consider them a true leader. Because of the American expansion to the west, the progress of man weakened the faith in magic. Only now does it sleep, waiting for the next chief in line to carry its power. Waiting, and watching."
"Well, that's not exactly what it says in the information here but it does sound interesting doesn't it?"
"..."
"Tough crowd." I muttered.
Looking up at the staff, it was placed inside a glass cage for all to see. It looked old and worn out, but still held a mystical appearance.
"Beautiful. Don't you think, Ms. Hathor?" I said out loud once again.
I walked away from the final display of the exhibit. Looking down at my watch, I was able to see the long, wide hallway filled with around a hundred of small artifacts similar to the one I read out loud. Each having a story to tell. Walking out of the long hallway, I stopped right as I took the first step out of the exhibit. Turning around, I bowed in respect again.
#9 Once you leave a section of an exhibit, do not move further than 5 steps. Turn around, bow. This will calm them and not pursue you. If you do not do this, run to the next exhibit as fast as possible. You have exactly 5 seconds before they begin to chase you in belief that you have insulted them. As long as you reach the next exhibit that you have not been in for the current shift, you will be left alone. Don't go back until the next day.
"Thank you again for having the two of us. I'll see you guys later." I waved back at it. I wasn't paying attention to it anymore and simply walked to the next ancient exhibit.
The one I left was about ancient American tribes that once lived. Way back before colonization. There was another one with the same topic, mostly about what kind of people were there, but I have already been there, so I couldn't go back to it again.
As I walked forward, I noticed the lights flickering behind me. Following me every step I take.
"They still haven't fixed the lights?!" I expressed my frustrations.
#54 If the lights begin to flicker behind you, keep your face forwards at all times. Do NOT look back. They will stop flickering after you walk more than 10 feet. If you look back accidentally or for any other reason, shine your flashlight immediately. This will make them disappear and stop the flickering of lights for the rest of the shift.
I sighed as I continued walking.
"Jesus Christ, how much power is needed to keep this place with power?"
I looked down at my phone to check on the time.
"Well shit, I only have 3 hours left. Good thing I'm in my final rounds. Ain't that a shame."
Still carrying what was considered the fertility figure of Hathor, I started to walk forward, heading straight to my office. Sometimes, I would see to my side hallways so dark that I thought it looked like the void. Shaking my head, I ignored how Mr. Aldwin doesn't seem to want to fix the faulty equipment. The only thing that he seems to keep up to date is the security system that kept the place locked up.
Passing by these hallways, I would sometimes hear a moan of frustration. Turning around, I would see it light up once more, showing the entrance to the exhibit. Thankfully, the lights stopped flickering.
"I guess it's just a figment of my imagination then. God, Aldwin should really get those speakers fixed."
Coming to the first flight of stairs, I began to walk up.
#13 When using the stairs, always use your left side when going up and down. Nothing will happen if you use the right side, but constant use of the right will cause the Baba Yaga to give you a warning.
#14 Do NOT break any of the day rules of the museum. If you do, you will also get another warning by the Baba Yaga.
#14 Never get more than 5 warnings from Baba Yaga. After the 5th, run. If you want to live, either head straight to the Security Desk, find the amulet and place it onto yourself. Or keep on running until 5:00 am. It will then disappear, and your warnings will be reset for the next shift.
Note: Depending on how well you follow all the rules during your security shift. She will be lenient with your punishment.
"So many rules. It's like this place doesn't even want us to have fun."
Finally, out of the giant place known as the basement, I was in the front entrance of the museum. Heading to my office, I was greeted by a cozy room filled with security cameras. It had a microwave, stove, refrigerator, and a restroom. Hell, there was even a bed.
I sat down in front of a computer that was turned on, it was also state of the art with multiple expensive computer parts. Sometimes, I get the feeling that the pc in front of me was a supercomputer of some kind. On the screen, there were multiple files that also showed a complete list of rules and some other archaic symbols that I had no clue what it meant. I placed the statue on the table.
"I sometimes forget that it never mentioned that I'm not allowed to place you at a table. You just sit right there while I make something to eat." I told the statue.
Walking to the fridge, I got out some ingredients and started cooking. 30 minutes later, I had a nice large serving of carbonara pasta.
"A bit of a shame you're not a real girl. Would have made something else than this if it was an actual date."
Sighing, I felt a bit sad that I never got a girlfriend.
As I finished eating, I received another notification from my phone. Looking at it, I was once again shown a photo of a landscape. This time something familiar as it belongs to the forest surrounding the town. A bit of a surprise knowing that one of my text buddies is in my town.
---0---
Robert: Hey! That looks exactly like the forest surrounding my town!
M.a.!.0: …
Robert: Well, if you want to get to know the area. Just call me sometime between 3:00 to 4:00pm. We can finally get to know each other!
M.a.!.0: ... (´∀`)b
---0---
Turning off my phone, I connected it to the charger and left it there. Finished with all of my duties, I decided to just kick back and relax. Off to the side was a mirror, I looked at my reflection for a moment before shrugging and focusing back on the security cameras.
Spoiler
I sighed as once again, the screens began to fizz out of control.
#24 Every time the screen for the security camera's begin to fizzle out. Unplug the outlet, smack the screen, and plug it back in. This will prevent the entity from establishing a connection. If you do not complete this action after 5 minutes of the screen fizzling. Hide in the restroom, lock the door and wait 10 minutes. Afterwards, the screen will be back to normal and you can resume watching the cameras.
I did what I was told to do in case this happened. It only took me 3 minutes at most and once that was done, the screen stopped fizzling.
"Should I make a complaint?"
"..."
"Nah. I like this job, I get paid a lot. Hell, I even got a raise last month to $400 an hour! Can you believe that?! I guess it's my reward for being here for 4 years, I guess. A bit ridiculous that I'm getting paid this much, but hey," I shrugged to the statue, "Money is money."
"..."
"I don't think you would understand how money works, since you would be a goddess and all. But it's basically what I need to pay my rent, food, health insurance, phone bill, internet bill, etc, etc. Sad that I can't really get a girlfriend due to my schedule. It's kind of lonely, you know."
"..."
"Love you too you." I grumbled it out.
"Can't believe I'm still talking to you after all these years."
Checking the time, I found out that I only had 30 minutes left before the end of my shift.
"Well, would you look at that. Time goes by fast." Carrying the statue, I went back to place it where it was supposed to be.
#30 Place the Statue of Hathor back in the glass container. Bow and then say the following sentence.
"Thank you for this wonderful date, my dear lady. I wish for you to have a wonderful rest of the day and I shall see soon once more."
You will then place a kiss on top of the statue and close the container. Secure it with the master key.
As I leaned down to press my lips, for a moment. I thought for a moment I felt hair. As soon as I finished, I placed the statue back into the display and locked the container. Nothing different, it seems. I guess I'm more tired today than usual, again.
Spoiler
Walking away, I went to the security office once more and picked up my stuff. Getting ready to got home.
"I hope my meeting later on won't be awkward, I haven't talked to someone new for a long time." Referring to the text I sent out.
Malo is a good, lonely wolf girl that wants to be headpatted.
And "headpatted" heavily, if ya know what I mean. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I didn't really understand why exactly I had to take these home with me every day but I felt like they were small gifts from an old grandpa who believed in mystical things. I didn't mind it as I wore the amulet around my neck and carried the ofuda in my chest pocket.
It was cold in the early morning, I had already given my keys to the incoming security guard. Funny enough, I find their expressions hilarious every time they come in to receive my keys. For some reason, I was the only employee of the museum that has worked there for more than 4 months. A majority of them quitting or leaving never to be heard from again. I'm not sure where they went exactly but the looks on their faces whenever I came out to give them the keys were either of freight, wonder, amazement, fear, etc. Well, mostly fear that is.
As soon as I dropped the keys, I clocked out and left the museum to still see a bit of darkness outside with the sun barely coming from the horizon. Getting into my car, I turned it one and left to go home. The museum itself was a large complex building surrounded by a sea of forests.
Spoiler
The museum was at least 4 miles away from the town I lived in. The town itself was small, so small in fact that I'm sure the population was around 1,000 people living inside. Most live in apartments and a few have their own homes. The town itself doesn't have much that makes it unique except for the museum, and that it used to be a historical sight for witch trials. No, this isn't Salem but we had something similar with witches and shamans.
Either way, it was a cozy place to live in with nothing much. It had a town hall, supermarket, hospital, and the necessities of living here. There's only a highschool, middle, and elementary school here. I only went to high school here and graduated.
My parents had their own house and I lived on the other side of town. The apartment I lived in wasn't the most good looking one but it was a good place. The rent was cheap, the walls were soundproofed, and the neighbors didn't even bother me. I liked it and have been living there for about 3 years now. My apartment was a short building, I lived in a room facing into the forest. Entering it, I breathed in the fresh scent of lavender.
Even if I lived alone, that didn't mean I should live like a slug. Tired, I locked the door behind me, took off my clothes and went to sleep naked.
It could sense the human close by.
It could smell him from afar, knowing full well that it was only a matter of time before they finally met with one another.
For months, it has been looking for its new potential master. All the others died horrible deaths before it could get to it. It became sad at the memories of all the potential masters killing themselves or dying from other beings. Purpose or accident, it was losing its power.
Since the beginning, all it knew was that its sole purpose was trying to find a master. Not knowing the reason but only knew that it needed to find one, and fast too. This human, this potential master, was placing all of its hope on him to not die before she got there.
The reason why?
It did not know exactly why but something etched into its very existence told it that only when it met its master would it finally become complete.
It was on its last legs, walking slowly to its destination. As if it was walking through a sea.
Their powers flickering away with each step, their existence glitching in and out of existence. The only reason it wasn't dead was due to the connection it had with the new potential master through the phone it carried. Looking down, it saw the final text telling them that it hoped to see it soon. They could feel a tiny, miniscule, sense of power flow through the screen onto the being's existence. Lighting the small flame once more before it almost flickered out of existence. Keeping it from ever coming close to the embrace of death.
The pain it felt was never ending as she tiptoed on the edge of life and nothingness. Robert was its final hope.
Sooner or later, it hoped that the gamble it played wouldn't end with its death. After all, it was the last of its kind.
Spoiler
Waking up, Robert cracked his neck as he stretched. He looked down at his phone and turned off the alarm. Getting up, he quickly went to the restroom to do his duty and shower. Done, he went on to his small kitchen and made a quick breakfast to eat and watched the news.
"Hmm?" He looked down to see a notification in his phone.
---0---
M.a.!.0: …. How … soon … can we … meet…
Now that he thought about it, he promised that he will meet up with his long-time text buddy today.
Robert: Oh! I'm sorry, I guess we can meet soon enough. Where would you like to meet up at?
M.a.!.0: Anywhere
Robert: Great! How about the park near the end of the forest? Do you know where it is? I can send you the location.
M.a.!.0: … No … I know … where … I'm … almost there … will be … waiting for … you
Robert: Alright then, I'll be there in half an hour!
---0---
Turning off his phone, he quickly put on a new set of clothes and left his apartment. Finally off to meet up with his mysterious friend. There was a reason why he chose the park as well. It was close to where he lived and somewhere around a 5 minute drive to get there. Not only that, but the police station was right next to the park in case anything happened. He just hoped that the person he would be meeting isn't a serial killer of some kind.
If he/she was, he would be sorely disappointed at them for taking this long to get to him.
In a few minutes he was at the park, sitting on one of the benches with him facing the police station and his back into the playground. Robert was sitting on one of the benches waiting for his long time friend to show up. He sat there, hearing the birds chirp and noises of children playing around. His thoughts were about what kind of person his long time "friend'' was, their appearance, their life and story.
Sitting down at the bench, he was looking back into the long history of texts the two shared. Looking back, it was funny how it all started when he accidentally texted the wrong number.
Robert: Are you here?"
M.a.!.0: …. Close ..
It was after he received that update that he began to notice something strange. There wasn't any sound. There weren't any birds, the children seemed to have quieted down, and not a single wind blew to his face. Suddenly, he looked down to see his amulet shine and the ofuda he kept in his pocket warm up.
The sudden noise cutting off made him begin to become more paranoid as time went on. He looked around him to see what was once a park filled becoming empty. Even though it was still the afternoon, his gut told him that something was completely wrong. Something he felt throughout his time working in the museum and now, this feeling was stronger than ever.
Another ring of his phone awoke from his paranoia, looking down he saw a new text.
M.a.!.0: Hello …. Robert … I'm … Behind You …
Turning around, his heart stopped as a large thing towered over him, his heart racing and terrified for what he was looking at. A tall being covered in shadow, glitching in and out of reality, looming over him as it stared at him with a skull-like face. The skull itself was canid in appearance and its eyes white and empty as it only looked straight at his own eyes. It scared him enough that he jumped away from his bench and onto the floor. Moving away quickly in case of anything.
"Well shit." He said. Aware that whatever it was, might be the end of his life.
He closed his eyes, accepting the fact that the thing in front might be here to have a taste of its victim. Finally, understanding the fact that the weird way it sent texts was one of the clues that should have told him that it wasn't a human being.
"Hello … Robert … It's nice to … finally … meet you." It spoke in a raspy, female voice.
"What?! You're not here to kill me or something? Are you?" He said, hoping to get it out of the way before anything else.
"No!" It shouted, scaring him for a moment.
"Oh! T-Thank you for not eating me." He stuttered quickly. Robert quickly got up and stood facing the creature in front of him, positioning himself in a way that he could run away in case it decided to do anything malicious to him. Even if it said it wouldn't kill him, that didn't mean that it wouldn't try to harm him.
"Relax …" It giggled. "I'm … here … because I … need your help …. Robert…"
He was still suspicious of it. Not knowing exactly what its purpose for appearance was? He decided to gamble a little and asked.
"Before anything, can I have your promise that I will not be harmed, have my soul taken away, or become possessed?"
"You have … my word."
"Will it be dangerous?"
"No …"
"Can … I refuse?" He asked with hesitation.
".....Yes …"
For some reason, there was deep sadness when it answered.
"..."
"..."
The two stayed silent for a moment. Feeling that he was sure that he wouldn't be in any danger, he stepped forward with shaking legs and sat down on the bench. The canid being sat next to him.
"Why?" He asked.
"... I'm … in search of a new … master ….. If I … cannot … find one … then … I'll die …"
"Oh."
"Please … help me … I'll do anything … I don't … want to die … please." The voice was sincere and the amulet stopped shining while the ofuda stopped warming.
"You're dying." He repeated.
"Yes…"
"...Why me then?"
"... I don't know … only that … we are … compatible … do not … worry … no harm … shall ever … befall on you …"
"... Fuck it. I have been living a boring life up until now with not much social life," He turned to look at the thing straight into its eyes, "Sure. I'll help you out. Might make my life more interesting from now on. You only live once. "
Although its facial features didn't do much, he could very well tell that it was smiling at him.
"Thank you… Robert … please take care … of me."
"Y-Yeah." Before anything else, he began to see darkness grow. Their appearance glitching and twitching, almost as if they were lagging in real life. The shadows cloaking the two. He began to worry for the worst until it suddenly vanished.
The noises finally return as Robert can finally hear the children yelling, birds chirping and the sounds of cars passing by. Before he could think of the event as a hallucination. His phone received another notification.
M.a.!.0: The pact has been sealed. Thank you for making me whole again, Robert. I'm finally free and know my purpose. Know that I am with you wherever you go. The phone shall become the summoning key to call me into reality. Thank you, Robert.
"Huh, so much for interesting times."
How much he would later regret those words.

Sooooo … what kind of cryptid are you?" I asked. Finally, processing the idea that cryptids, supernatural, magic and unscientific explanations, and mythology up to this day exists. Thinking back, I honestly didn't expect that the monster in front of me would be a friendly one.
Looking back at her, I was honestly shocked about her new appearance.
Spoiler
"Well," She said, her voice normal and mature. Not having a glitch or something ominous, but having a regular voice for a fact.
"I'm a Kikimora for sure."
"A Kikimora? Aren't you some kind of malevolent spirit, then?"
"Well … not exactly, but it mostly depends."
I looked at her walking to my sink and started cleaning my dishes. It was kind of jarring to find out that there was an old folklore creature in my apartment room cleaning, doing some of the chores I missed doing earlier today.
"How?" I asked warily.
"It's true that we are sometimes malevolent, but usually we were married to Leshy or our Domovoi in order to rein us. But since the progress of man, the gathering faith had been diminishing enough to become detrimental. At first, it was Leshy who one day disappeared. Then came our husbands, the Domovoi, who too were dying off." She said with a tone of remorse, still focused on cleaning the pile of my dirty dishes.
"What happened then?"
"Because of the progress of science and man, the faith in myths and legends became weaker and lessened. One by one, we all began to die off. Disappearing into nothingness. I was but a young child, still clinging to the robes of my mother and father. But then they too were taken."
"I'm sorry for your loss." I said lamely.
"Hmm … Don't be. I have all the time to grieve for them. But going on, I too was beginning to feel the effects. It wasn't long before I had to go look for a place of refuge."
"Refuge? Sorry if my question might seem rude, but wouldn't anybody be better off having you? Like someone rich that has a mansion or something? I'm just a guy living here by myself in a town out of nowhere." I said.
"See, that's the thing. I can't just establish myself anywhere, but I need to make a connection with someone. That someone needs to have what we like to call potential. A potential for magic, to be great, and/or to be someone that has either met or lives close to a deity or land filled with history."
"Wait a minute, gods and other things exist also?" I said with surprise in my face.
She turned around to give a deadpanned gaze as she wagged her tail to show off.
"Sorry dumb question." I said with an embarrassed gaze. I still couldn't believe for a fact that all of that cryptic and mythological shit exists.
She gave me a small smile and giggled.
God, she sounds so cute laughing like that.
"Don't worry master. I'm not mad or anything."
"Oh, thank god she wasn't."
"But the reason why I chose you of all people is because you have the highest amount of output than any humans I have ever met or seen. Just your mere presence is allowing me to attain this physical form as long as I am around you. The magical energy is simply amazing, and not to mention the amount of faith emitting off of you was enough to save me from my oncoming death."
"Oh, that's nice? I really don't know what exactly you're talking about, but I know for sure that I'm just a regular human."
"You are, just that you are a bit more special than the rest. Tell me, what exactly do you do for a living or pray to?"
"Pray? I don't pray to anyone, since I'm mostly atheist and stuff. But I do work at a museum."
"A museum?"
"Yeah, I'm like their only night shift security guard and have been working there for the past 4 years."
"..." There was a moment of quietness as her figure stiffened, she turned around to look at him with wide scared eyes, "That … museum inside the forest? The large one?"
"Yup! I've been working there for a long time and even got a raise! Can't you believe it?! $400 an hour with benefits." I said with pride showing in my face.
"Fuck." She said with a thick accent.
"What?"
"Oh sorry nothing but it's just that … wow." She said with shock in her voice. Heaving a sigh of relief, she finished placing down the last cleaned plate and left it to dry on the side. "I'm finally safe now."
"Safe?"
"Yeah. I think they're going to focus on the museum instead and let me go. Thank goodness."
"I'm still not sure what you're talking about, uh … shit. Is your name still Malo?" I asked.
"Yes. My name still is Malo, Robert. But to answer your question, the museum that you work in is like a beacon of light in the void. A place filled with faith, magic, and some other things that I couldn't quite understand. I felt danger just from being miles away from it. But it's safe to say that if you can work in such an environment, then I'll be able to sustain my physical self you see right now.
Not only that, but there was a weird group of people chasing me everywhere I went. I was for certain that they were trying to capture or detain me due to the usage of my last magic to create a digital template of myself in order to stave off my oncoming death. But it's safe to say that they might be your nations' government." She said,
"My government?" I asked while processing all of this.
"Do you not know about this? I would have thought you knew, since you worked in a museum like that?" She looked at me with a confused expression as she sat down on my armchair.
"I still have absolutely no idea, Malo. This is all new to me."
"I guess I'll start off at the beginning. From what I was able to find out from my close encounter with them. They are a national organization tasked with keeping us at bay from ever disrupting human society and keeping the species safe from those that endanger it. I guess you could say that they are the heroes in the dark from what I understand. There are multiple ones for their own countries and an entire global organization as a whole. But here in the United States, they are called the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations." She said, taking off her clothes and leaving herself naked.
"Uh, Malo." I said as my face became more red.
"Yes?"
"Why are you getting naked?"
"I'm done with all the chores right now," She bent down in front of him to show off her large, amazing ass and wide hips, "I just need to wash our clothes."
"But uh … you're naked," I said, looking away from her wonderful figure.
"Of course I am. How else would I wash my clothes?"
"Well," I got up and took out a shirt from my closet and shoved it to her, "Wear this please."
"But I don't want to dirty your clothes, master."
"Just wear it for me, please." I pleaded.
She just gave me a look before shaking her head. "I cannot master. I do not want to waste more inventory just to clean this again. I mean, do you not like my figure?"
"Uh …" My eyes still couldn't help but peak down to her motherly figure. Curves at the right place, and a thickness that I couldn't help but want to squish to my delight.
"I see. Don't worry, master, I do not mind your wandering gaze on my being. It's the least I can do for you." She turned away to grab the dirty clothes I left in a bag and went into the room that had my washing machine.
"This … might be a mistake." I said as her hips swung side by side as she hummed a tune.
But there was still one thing in the back of my mind as I kept my eyes forward on her amazing ass.
"What exactly does she mean by the museum? I don't really know what's going on, but what she's saying is as if it's alive or something. I guess I'll find out something later on."
Malo is a Kikimora. Maido that is humanized but can still fuck you good in her monster and human form.
