After the last dredges of locust got burned out, the Xi family and their Ardent guest had a small feast to celebrate the victory and recover, aboard Anaconda One.
Pef went to hug his uncles, glad to see them again, and patted Deng on his back. "Thanks for your fast arrival, old man. I was sure to die if that beam hit me."
Old Deng cursed something under his breath, annoyed at being treated so familiarly in public.
"Your delicate wife was about to jump in front. You'd have lived, but heartbroken and sad. Take better care of your women, damn idiot!" the Patriarch replied in fake outrage.
Jian blushed and hid behind her tea cup, but Pef suspected the sword master meant Yuan. She would have been close and fast enough to take that evil spell.
Hestia had grudgingly removed her veil to eat and drink, and also hid her scarred face behind her tea cup, a bit awed and impressed with the Xi family and their immense powers. Didn't they ever ran out of qi?
Even the Fire Tyrants kept firing their fire jets and fireballs long after she, as a Sovereign rank, had run out of qi.
The druid Tyrant stayed as close support, slashing and killing whatever higher ranked locusts got close enough to threaten their group, with a large pigeon feather forged into a polearm.
"Lady Hestia, if you were to marry someone, what kind of man would you prefer?" Pef asked in a kind tone, a bit dismayed at the loss of beauty in the world.
The woman blushed, but looked around the nacelle, her eyes flying from Saren to Ventu, then back again.
"I don't know, Lord Pef. If I was the woman from before, perhaps I'd have liked your uncle Saren. He is brave and strong and has defended the world of man for millennia. Like this, I doubt any man would ever look at me..." the Ardent disciple murmured in a sad and sobbing voice.
Saren Xi chuckled a bit honored. "Many thanks, Lady Hestia, but I doubt I'll ever try the harem route, again. I'm not young and horny like my nephews. But as it happens, my brother Ventu could use a partner, and a Fire Sovereign would have true synergy with a Wind user." the Fire Sovereign said as a jab and acknowledgment of the fine work his brother did in amplifying his fire spells.
Pef grinned and laughed amused, turning to see his old and venerable uncle Ventu choke and blush like a teenager.
"Great idea, Saren. Poor Ventu has been alone for 10 thousands years. If the white beard didn't clue us in, his sad face and lusty eyes sure did." he commented, making both of the pair to glance as each other in wonder, and then growl at the shameless intervention.
Ventu rose and walked next to the higher ranked Ardent with a dignified manner. "Lady Hestia, ignore these fools. They joke at our plight, but I have burned too many dead wives to hope for a fairy tale love story.
However, if you would agree, working together as a fireteam would indeed increase our damage, and safeguard humanity better. Saren is not completely stupid, as you have seen, when our spells combined to magnify both our strengths against this locust swarm."
The Ardent hesitated, as Ventu was as renowned and respected as his brother Saren was, and closer to her age. Though he didn't look as manly and vigorous as Saren, he was still a pleasant and powerful warrior, if not yet at Sovereign rank.
In fact his looks made it even clearer the man wasn't a playboy and a womanizer. If he had indeed been single for 10 thousands years, he wasn't after her disfigured body anyway. "Working with you would be a honor, Tyrant Ventu. But I'm afraid my looks will disgust and make you shun me sooner or later." she whispered in her tea cup.
"Nonsense, Lady Ardent. This would be a simple working deal. And when Ventu sweats and works himself for your Blue Meridian pill, your combined powers would increase even more. And in 20 years, your god will restore your looks anyway." Pef interjected with a confident tone, patting the Fire Sovereign's hand, while producing a tiny fire sprite in his other hand.
Ventu glanced at the gloved hand with wise eyes, then frowned at the fire sprite. "Is that really okay, nephew? Seems a strange alliance..."
Pef sighed and sat back down to pour more wine for himself and his wives. "As I said, uncle. Volcanis will take his due, and have his Ardent refine fire qi for 20 years. It's a test of faith and perhaps faithfulness. But in the end, humanity will have to unite anyway, and fight together. Or else, my Monarch wife wouldn't be next to me, right here and now. Remember, the General always wins. Always!" he proclaimed in a certain tone, holding a slightly orange fist up, in a salute towards the heavens.
Hestia looked at the General's prophet with doubtful eyes. But then she remembered he was also a Holy Ignited, like all his fire qi wives. And if he said that Volcanis would restore her body in 20 years...it was nothing. A blink of an eye, compared to her 23 thousand years long life.
Deng Xi observed the proceedings with calculating eyes. The boy was too rash and reckless, even though he had began learning the sword at a decent pace. But he had the bastard glove, and his own neo knife. And with all the allies he was gathering...it wasn't a bad plan.
Just really dangerous. Then again, he had restored a small part of his soul, by forcing him to admit that he cared for that fisherman elder. And now he was stuck with a female apprentice, a fragile and pretty one, much too young and smart for him.
Plus he had to deal with Wixtal, who has crossed into Tyrant rank after ingesting the White Meridian Pill.
That problem still wasn't solved, and the new Tyrant demanded his daughter Remi back.
"How is Major Remi?" he asked, just making sure the young woman was alive.
Pef scratched his cheek, thinking how to answer the obvious trapped question. "Well, my dear sister has reached Emperor rank, just like Wu, her husband. I'll have to help Remi a bit for the next rank, but she'll be a Tyrant by next year for sure."
"And the lovely wives you had with you before, Xie and Lara, and Erin and Pela?" the Patriarch asked in a mild tone.
"Oh! Xie and Lara have made Tyrant rank already. Erin and Pela are only Emperors, so they will take another year, but cultivation is quite hard...as you know..." the young Sovereign explained in a shamed voice, glancing at Lithos and Ventu who were still Tyrants after tens of thousands of years.
The Earth Tyrant poured himself a pitcher of wine and sighed sadly. "I know, young nephew. My new wife barely crossed into Sky rank. I'll give her that White pill, perhaps she'll become an Emperor rank.
Keeping her alive, through the Wall beast waves is quite annoying right now." he complained in a dejected manner.
Pef nodded wisely. He had lost a few Fire disciples at the Phobia siege, simply by being focused on different task or enemy for a second too long.
"Well then, you folks better fly away, wherever. I am kinda eager to meet my other dear wives. And you likely have things to do and monsters to kill." he explained politely, making Deng clench his teeth and curse inward.
"Give us old folks some face sometimes, will you?" he muttered and flashed away in a split-second.
Pef shrugged and glanced at his Monarch wife, who was the eldest person around.
"I should kiss you more, right?" he asked with smiling eyes, and leaned into a kiss.
In a second, the nacelle was empty, the elder Xi uncles and Hestia running away from the egregious lack of face.
Green Blossom, hugged her husband from behind, amused at his antics. His family was kinda stuffy and proper, but her Sovereign was so much fun!
Then a pair of manly hands moved around to support her plump posterior, and to measure it for elasticity and leaks. She sighed and leaned in tighter. It would take her some time to get used at being abused in front of her sisters.
After some half hour of hugs and kisses and manual measurements, Pef and his wives resumed their trek back towards the Saint continent, the Tyrant ranked wives being forced to travel as plush toys in their husband's arms, when they got tired.
Pef claimed it was to release tension and massage tired muscles, but nobody even bothered to object.
It felt good and made the long flight enjoyable.
Some time later, they arrived at Sandyport town, as Pef wanted to check the more distant parts in his Empire. And it was well they did, as Remi and Wu were fighting off an invasion of crabs from the sea, and were getting pushed back by wave after wave of crustacean beasts.

PefVersed in the lewd.
Pef's wives jumped ahead to contain the marine invasion, and soon their fires made the entire population of Sandyport drool in hunger, as boiled and fried crabs do smell very nice.
The Sovereign himself stopped next to his sister, checking her for damage and signs of growth. Still, only a B cup, so he kinda pitied Wu for his poor luck. "Hey sis, you should abuse your husband more, if you want to reach next rank this century." he explained politely.
Remi heaved a tired sigh, as her qi was nearly depleted and her Emperor ranked polearm was nearly chipped away on those hard crab shells. "Shut up, idiot! There's been constant waves since you've left, who had time for love?" she muttered in an exhausted manner, leaning on her loyal husband to save energy.
Pef nodded wisely, as he kinda expected this, which is why he had left five Tyrants and five Emperors to defend the homeland continent.
"Where's Zhong?" he asked curious.
"With the first Guardian regiment, at Carthage. The new port has been hit eight times, in last eight months." Wu answered instead, the former Major looking even more tired and worn out.
"Yuan, rush to Carthage, please." he said in a commanding tone, his voice imbued with qi to cover the loud noises of combat.
The Lady Ignited glanced at the beaches full of hundreds of cooked Emperor ranked crabs and smiled a bit. She was kinda overkill here. In a step, she arrived next to her husband and stole a kiss, then fled away, blushing fiercely.
"Jian and Qin, along the coast to Port Li." Pef demanded next, somehow suspecting two more Tyrants would help clear the beaches in minutes instead of weeks.
"And Yen, we're staying here for a week, and have lots of sex." the leader of the Pef Empire decided as his newest wife looked to him for orders. His wife nodded a bit shyly, glancing at her husband's sister with reddish cheeks.
"Ah, that clearly seems the priority, stupid brother, when the Empire is under attack." Remi added in a sarcastic tone.
Pef hugged the tired sister and patted her hair.
"Lady Yuan is a Monarch rank, silly sister. We can relax now." he whispered in a soft voice, while taking out an old Tyrant ranked ring, with two sets of Sovereign armor and weapons, and two White Meridian pills, and gently placed it in her palm.
Then he dove at speed towards the beach, collecting fresh meat and shells, and obliterating the crab wave remains in half and hour, while also washing the sand with his water qi, and cleaning up the battlefield, like it had never happened.
Then he laid some soft furs a kilometer away and began kissing and molesting the new druid wife.
Wu hugged his seething wife cautiously, and poked at the gift from their Leader. His eyebrow rose in wonder, as it was a precious gift indeed. "Well, my superb and glorious Empress. We could retire to our mansion for a few days, and digest the new pill..." he offered in a gentle tone.
"Yeah...and then a week of hot sex as well. I won't be left behind, by my stupid brother!" Remi demanded with gritted teeth, and left herself be carried as a princess by her husband.
Emperor Wu didn't know if to cry or laugh. Both of the siblings were much the same, but it would be his own body that will be abused to the limit, by the insatiable wife. Then again, insatiable wife. He couldn't quite complain, could he?
His boss had been truly generous, to offer him his lustful sister. The woman had the craziest ideas in bed.
A week of carnal debauchery later, Green Blossom crossed into her early Sovereign rank, by the grace of three meridians open, two of them recently, then the Legion method, and intense combat and love brought to her by a nurturing husband.
The only sad part, was losing her ability to heal others, as Gaia reserved that to her devoted druids, and wouldn't bother to waste energy without draining life in return.
In the last communion, the goddess told her she'll regain a small amount at the next rank, as Monarchs could fuel healing with their own soul.
Still, Gaia wasn't ungrateful for her long service, and left Blossom a tiny gift of life. She just didn't tell her former druid, leaving the new Sovereigns to believe they got lucky.
After buying a large amount of lemons and oranges from Sandyport, Pef was preparing to take off, when a voice called after him. "Emperor Pef!"
He scanned the market and saw Master Gu with his wife, also shopping for things, now that the invasion threat was over.
"Third Master and Madam Gu. How you've been?" he asked politely.
"Very good, thank you Emperor. And hello to you too, Lady Xi." the young Master said, nodding at Yen with respect.
"Hey. I'm Yen Xi and the newest wife..." she replied shyly.
"Are you an Empress rank as well?" Feng Feng asked her with wide eyes.
"Ehm... We are both Sovereign rank, actually. So how the business going?" Pef replied instead, his eyes scanning the rich clothes and jewelry on these two merchants.
"Ah, it's going really well. My smiths have discovered how to melt and separate gold and silver, so we have become rich..." Master Gu answered proudly.
"And?" Pef asked with some ulterior motive.
"Right! I need to pay back the loan, right? Here, 10 gold plates! They're worth more than the loan, but I don't forget debts!" the young trader said a pained smile.
Pef took the gold with a smile, sensing the strong resonance and already thinking how to use the new metal, for magic arrays. "You will sell 90 percent of gold to the government, Mister Gu. This metal can support defense arrays strong enough to block similar invasions." he demanded with a serious voice, after concealing their persons in a water cloud.
The trader grimaced for a second, then nodded. Safety was more important than profit margins after all. He could board his emergency airship and fly away, but his family or investments would be lost.
"Secure trades then, via storage and Emperor ranks?" Gu asked to be precise.
"Yes, and only documented sales. If anyone has gold, he better have a stamped sale." Pef ordered as final word.
"It will be done, Sovereign. Though it will take some work to back trace all sales, it won't be hard, just a bit time-consuming."
Gu answered politely then ran away, before more absurd demands were placed on him.
Feng Feng stayed a bit longer, to ask Yen how to dye her hair the same way, but when hearing it was a goddess blessing she just sighed. "Nice to meet you again Pef, and you too Yen. Gotta go now, my two kids must miss me already."
Pef stared after the normal woman with new eyes, wondering if perhaps normal people weren't happier with their easy reproduction. "Damn lucky guy, this Gu. Two kids already..." he murmured and sped away, first toward Yellow Tear, and then Stoneport and finally home.
He granted each Sky ranked Guardian a Tyrant ranked feather, partially forged but not completely, to allow the recruits to attune their weapons to their aura and spirit.
This should make turning beast waves easier, even if multiple Sky ranked beasts or even Emperors appeared somehow.
At each stop, he checked and awakened promising Practitioners and induced them into the Guardians, but the numbers were small, a couple here or there.
The population on his continent was still too small. But in Stoneport, he glanced at the Volcanic Fire firecone and mused inward. 'There's a thousand Disciples here, ready to be used.'
'Good idea, Aspirant. You are their Lord Ignited after all.' the glove agreed at once.
Pef and Yen stayed at the firecone for a day, holding another great spider meat feast, with some boiled crab on the side.
Then he selected a hundred more solid Disciples, and showed them his fire sprite.
"Brothers, god Volcanis had invested me with his mark, to become Ignited and lead mankind against the beast onslaught.
The holy General of the Xi had granted me a symbol as well, the neo knife! And Gaia has given me her druids, first Tyrant Aria and now Sovereign Green Blossom. What say you? Will you join me and become Guardians of the realms of men?" Pef proclaimed dramatically, holding his hands in the air, one burning with yellow fire, the other holding a shining white blade.
Just like everywhere, superstitious and faithful people were the easiest to convince.
One hundred Disciples became Fire Guardians, and cried their hearts out for a month. Among them, there was a young woman who Pef didn't remember, but she would never forget him, her savior who rescued her from a Tang breeding pen, right here in the Stoneport Tang Citadel.
She never cried, happy at the chance to become strong and hunt, those who had shamed and humiliated her.
And by Awakening a second time, she discarded her old name, and called herself Firaga, the larger fire. As the Legion method worked through her, the old scars healed, and a new imprint developed, to allow her to grow and love again.
Only the glove noticed, as it never forgot anything or anyone. The new obsession was logged and accounted for, to be used as bait or sacrifice, as needed.
Pef flew onward, reaching the Xi Palace at noon. Lara and Erin were absent, still working on some construction project in the capital, but they'd be back in the evening.
He landed in the second courtyard, Yen hiding shyly behind him.
"Hello, my lovely wives. Your beloved husband is back!" Pef proclaimed with a wide grin.
Lady Yuan waved a few fingers from the pool, then continues to relax in the shallower part, showcasing her new swimsuit and heavenly body.
Pef almost dropped his jaw at the sight, then sighed in defeat. The Monarch firebird wasn't in his reach, yet.
Aria and Xie came first to hug and kiss him, then Pela and Lady Lin, and lastly Si and his beloved oracle, Lia. There was one missing after all, Mia Xi Quing, Pef observed with dismay.
"Mia's too pregnant to fly around, silly husband. Now introduce us our newest sister!" Lia said in a warning voice, as Blossom was fidgeting and staring at her feet.
"Of course. Green Blossom Yen, former druid. Sovereign rank and a very kind woman. Please be nice to her..." he said in a more subdued voice, holding a hand to his new wife.
After another pile up of hugs and kisses, Pef made a large feast, and offered his wives the new gifts, including armor and weapons and the White Pills. Lady Lin received a set of Monarch bones, and got mollified enough to continue accepting the lecherous husband.
Aria took Blossom away for secret druid chats, while Pef held Si in his lap and played with her soft body, while drinking wine and waiting for the last wives to arrive.
The oracle watched the whole thing a bit amused and impressed, as Pef had indeed returned a Sovereign, and also upgraded Yuan to Monarch and gained a new Sovereign wife.
'He's so strong, my young husband. And his sword skill is much better than mine. Ah, why do I feel left behind now...' Lia mused inward, while Si blushed and sobbed, happy at all the attention.
She kinda expected to be set aside and forgotten, and yet, even with all these immortal beauties around, her husband still cared and showered her with love and gifts and lustful hands...
Si stuck her lips on Pef's ear and murmured a soft "Please..."
Her husband was kind enough to flash away and take them to her room, before giving in to passion. And hour later though, she was exhausted though, being still just a Spirit rank.
"Take the pill, my love. It will be enough for the next rank. And your body won't get tired so easy, next time." Pef whispered, urging her to ingest the White Meridian pill.
Si exploded in white light, and her soul doubled and purified, and over the next day, crossed into Earth rank, with quite a bit of pain. But Si expected the pain. There could be no love and good without pain.
Meanwhile, Pef returned to the pool, and played with Xie a little, and even with Xia for a minute, underwater.
"Husband of mine, what is sense from this White pill...it's truly a wonderful gift. Is a kiss, really the only thing you wish from us?" the other wife asked with wise and profound silver eyes.
Pef hugged her to his chest, enjoying the warm feeling. "A gift is freely given, my lady. Even a kiss is too much, but I am a young and greedy man. But no less than a 10 minutes hug!" he demanded in a petulant voice.
"Indeed, our amusing husband. A kiss from us is the more precious boon. For to be loved by a goddess is priceless. And thus you gain even more, without asking. Just take care, at the next step, young husband. Your General patron is not around to safeguard your soul. And you will wear it on your sleeve. You have water qi, and mixing ink with water is the same. Mysterious action at a distance, only that distance is not in space, but higher, towards divinity." the silver eyed wife explained with a reverberating tone, touching Pef profoundly.
He hugged her tighter, and pawed over her revealing wet swimsuit. "I have a vague notion, dear goddess. Like tangled hair and mixed hair colors. And I have Yuan to learn from. Her flesh resists but I can taste her soul with every kiss."
The purple haired wife smiled a little, as the idiot husband was quite close to the truth. Especially with regard to hair colors.
"You must remember this, Pef. Purple is a special color. Is a mixture and a property of the soul. Never take it lightly, or your own soul will suffer for it." Xia said in a warning tone, and tapped his glove twice.
'Purple qi, like Divine beasts. Another clue, Aspirant. You should fly out and meet the other wives.' the glove told the user in a serene voice.
From here on, there would be no more free wins. Pef will have to work hard to entangle his soul and qi, and no cryptic advice could help. Just Practice and practice and practice. Not 300 thousand years like the former Volcanis slave, but many years. There just wasn't any shortcut to take.

Normal life resumed on the Saint continent, with small joys here and there, like Mia giving birth to a boy, and spending most of her time with her parents in Lacrimosa. A month later, Blossom announced she was pregnant as well, which drove the wives into a horny frenzy, abusing their husband for long hours.
Pef did his best, as his stamina didn't deplete anymore, not with Tyrant ranked partners for duo cultivation, but in the end it was a numbers game. He would need decades to get lucky with all his wives.
In other aspects, life got better for the locals, as crime became extinct with a Monarch and two Sovereigns monitoring the continent for any rumors. Large construction projects became the norm, using half of the cultivators as workforce while the Fire Guardians were split into five groups and tasked with aiding the industry with their fire qi.
In a year, Lady Erin became a blonde Earth Tyrant, as Pef nurtured her intently, giving her demanding jobs, to search and extract minerals, and also took her on a short roaming to Black Magma continent, to place her in combat and find more Black Pill ingredients. Sadly, the bubbling tar pits with the Black Origin Mud Lotus only contained two flowers, as the former cults on the continent had exploited this resource mercilessly.
Like clockwork though, the second he left another wave of beast waves began, stopping infrastructure projects for defensive works.
But this time, the Guardians were prepared, the Xi family having Sovereign ranked armors and weapons, while the grunts, the Sky and the Earth ranks had Tyrant ranked feather polearms.
The beasts merely became food on the tables.
When Pef returned, he stopped in Port Li for a week, Awakening a hundred of the small nobles in the Sea Guard, and gifting them weapons and armor. Then he sat at a sad dinner with trader Diu and Admiral Fang, deploring their lost daughters and explaining what he did as revenge.
Fang smiled grimly, hearing about the siege of Phobia and its demise, while Diu heard about Locust and Myrrth and the burned swarm.
"It won't bring my daughter back, my son. But it is the beginning of justice. I hope you won't stop here..." the sad trader asked with a sob.
"No, I won't. And you two can help. There will be a month of pain, but after that you would become Guardians and be sent overseas, as my governors over the conquered cities in Black Magma." Pef offered as a minor payback.
Trader Diu hesitated for a while. "I could settle in Myrtth, and gather a thousand women in a harem. It would be hard work, but I would gain new children that way." he concluded after some time.
Pef smiled kindly, as it would indeed work, but exhaust the man for years. He knew how hard it was, with merely a dozen wives.
Fang shook his head in denial. "I'm not that kind of man, Emperor Xi. But perhaps an intelligence network, spread across the known lands...like a web, of human intrigue." he asked with serious eyes.
The Sovereign thought about it, and agreed. "To Green Gea then. The druids are still fighting the spiders there. I'll give you permits and some metals to trade as a cover."
"And an airship too, I suppose?" Fang asked amused, as reaching other continents was impossible by sea, as long as sea beasts were in majority and so strong.
"Fang, you will need a Monarch ranked ring to store a large enough airship, of Sky rank. And you'll need a bodyguard...Dong would do nice, right, my wife?" Pef asked Erin who sat beside him and just listened.
"Eh, my lieutenant? Yeah, he's a decent Sky rank now. But Master Fang needs to be a bit stronger too. Core ranks are very fragile, in this world." Erin said in a doubtful tone.
"I can fix that next month, for both of them. Get them to Earth ranks on a quick moon seeing trip. Perhaps with the Sea Guardians once their finish awakening." Pef concluded and shook both men's hands. "Get home and have your servants prepare you tea and baths and aspirin."
"This is my home..." Trader Diu said in a wry tone.
The Sovereign scratched his head embarrassed a bit. "Right. You have three hours to prepare. See you soon." Pef said in a softer tone, then flew away, first to Lacrimosa, the capital, and then back home.
In a blink of an eye, seven more months passed, and Yen gave birth to a cultivator daughter, while Mia's son grew a bit as well. Pef was happy and content, as his plans for a big and loving family were starting to piece together.
A dozen more concrete buildings were poured in the capital's center, one of them a large stadium, with embedded formations to restrict spells and kinetic damage.
The Guardians began holding monthly tournaments, and gaining trophies and artifacts based on victories, in each ranking category.
A year later though, a new contender arrived to participate in the Tyrant ranks competition. He looked stern and composed,
with straight black hair and a golden aura.
Lady Yuan glanced at Pef, for advice, but her husband just sighed. His oracle wife was the all time winner in this category, undefeated for 11 consecutive tournaments. If his father wanted a showdown, he should have stayed an Emperor.
The fights went as always, Lara beating anyone except Lia, and Lia defeating everyone else with ease.
Wixtal did manage to win against Erin and Qin, but then lost to Xie in a brutal fight.
Even with Emperor ranked weapons, used to ensure the loves of the Tyrant competitors, Xie still burned with the desire of beating up men, and especially the scumbag father who tried to kill Pef at birth.
She took her time, and managed to shatter the hammer after a thousand hits. Then she kicked a groaning Wixtal off the raised platform, and threw away the cracked handle in her hand.
"Xie Xi, wins with a prolonged push out victory." Pef announced to the audience.
The crowds yelled excited, as this battle was truly long and gruesome, unlike the normal Tyrant fights, which ended normally in a few seconds.
The fights continued after, but Pef left to attend the medical bay, and see if Wixtal would recover.
Sadly, a poke with the glove showed the man still had 60 percent reserves, and had faked his defeat.
"What do you want, Wixtal Xi?" Pef asked in a deceptively pleasant voice.
"I am worried about my daughter, like any father would." the man said in a serene tone, raising up from the wounded's cot.
"She was fighting just before. Lost to every Emperor, even Pela." the dual soul son answered in a flat tone.
"Yeah, Remi needs more practice, I always told her, and she never listened." Wixtal said with a soft groan, taking out a flask of wine and drinking some to drown his pain.
"She'll get there. Her husband makes sure to keep training her." Pef said with a shrug, sitting midair and taking out his own flask of wine.
"I'm proud of you, son. So many strong wives. A continent to call your home, and another being conquered right now." Wixtal mused in a thoughtful tone, eyeing Pef's Monarch armor and rings with some envy, before glancing at the glove with a frown.
Pef held his gloved hand up, taking out his neo knife. "Our leather friend did most of it, to be truthful. Ever tried to take the knife?" he asked, actually curious.
"That one, never tried. And the Patriarch's...well. I could never draw it out. My roaming was not as fruitful as yours..." Wixtal complained and shook his head.
Pef stabbed his knife into the man's hand and left it there for a minute, both men staring at the confused puppy. "Well, you're not dead. That means something." the Sovereign explained calmly after the knife flew out on its own, turning the blade confused from father to son.
Then it flew towards Pef and sliced a finger, leaving a deep gash, before returning to the glove compartment.
Wixtal stared at his own hand, devoid of any wound or scar. "Amazing weapon, it felt like..."
"Yea, the Legion knife remembers you, or rather the golden aura. Wixtal, you died, and now you're alive again, without memories. You should try harder, Captain. Use the lightning for what it is, heavenly punishment. Take your lumps, and endure the pain, and after a thousand strikes, the memories will return. And then, become a god and bring my mother back, damn idiot!" Pef yelled and walked away, too angry to talk anymore.
'It doesn't work like that, foolish Aspirant. He would need to become a Tier 6, such that the old consciousness will reform.' the glove explained in a snarky tone.
'Yeah, so what? If Wixtal compresses the lightning qi, he will grow fast now, won't he?' Pef said in a fierce tone.
'Up to a point, just like you. Mid Sovereign rank. The White pill and other meridians would help more.'
the system replied in a more logical manner.
'Yeah, I should take Pela and Mia and try for another continent. Yellow Marshes maybe. Get them both to Tyrant rank and get the ingredients for the Yellow Meridian Pill?' Pef asked himself.
'Animating qi into elemental golems... Sure, why not?' the glove replied content. It won't be easy, but then cultivation wasn't meant to be easy.
However when Pef returned home and hid in his sauna to meditate in peace, a red-headed fairy was waiting for him, naked and sweaty and beautiful as the stars.
"Ah, you know me too well, my lovely wife." the young Sovereign complained, sitting down to soak himself in heat and steam.
"I asked Blossom to make sure Wixtal doesn't cause problems. And then I came here, to see where you plan to runaway next." Yuan answered like it was a known script already.
"To the Yellow Marshes. More pills for my beloved wives, making cultivation faster and ranks easier."
Pef whispered in fake secrecy.
Yuan rose and sat gently in Pef's lap, enjoying the hungry look in his eyes. Made her feel loved and wanted, and it felt nice.
"So... Mia and Pela, this time. Not a bad idea, but risky. Take Aria with you, husband. Your green haired wonder might cross into Sovereign as well, and she's strong enough to keep the girls safe, if you're too busy." The Fire Monarch mused, playing with her husband's hair.
Next week, after a last arduous cultivation with his wives, Pef took off on another roaming, after he made sure Wixtal had left and wouldn't try to kidnap Remi or something.
As soon as the 25 years old Patriarch left his continent, another beast invasion began, like clockwork.

PefVersed in the lewd.
The trip to the Yellow Marshes continent went smoothly, as Pef had the two Empress wives hung onto him like backpacks, front and back, and Aria could fly quite fast as a peak ranked Tyrant.
Aria kinda grumbled at the obvious favoritism for the weaker sisters, but she had to agree they were much slower in flight.
Then again, she was the only one beside Yuan to receive a Green Meridian Pill, which raised her wood qi to amazing levels, and also made her more fertile. Not that she could prove it, but Yen was living proof after all.
And combined with the White Meridian Pill and the Blue one, she was quite ready for her next rank, and become the strongest wife again. It was always a race in this family, as you never knew when Pef returned with another powerful beauty.
At least Yuan was a virgin, untouched and untouchable for as long Pef was still a rank lower. But Aria had her own goals, and Yen becoming a Sovereign would only hasten them, reaching Gaia and rescuing her from the loose state of scattered divinity.
The green haired woman scanned around for some of the fabled migratory bird flocks, but it seemed she wouldn't be so lucky yet. And while diving deep into the sea would certainly find her combat, Pef's warning of Monarch ranked beasts like Thunder Eels or Killer Orcas made her a bit afraid.
Those beasts were luckily not amphibian, so they wouldn't try to fly around, or cross into continents. As animals descendants, most beasts would remain convinced that only their original environment would allow them to live.
Even her reckless husband was wary of the sea, as his uncle who had been an experienced Water Tyrant found his end patrolling the depths. And having seen how strong and well trained Saren Xi was, in Myrrth, Aria knew the lost Tyrant wouldn't have been any less strong.
After a long and boring trip, with a few stops for meals the group reached the Yellow continent and landed for a bit of rest.
Pef's Qi senses reached hundreds of kilometers away and his soul domain almost one kilometer in depth, so the camp was quite safe, despite numerous insects and reptiles infesting the marshes.
Aria gathered some wood for a suspended cabin anyway, and Pef began cooking on his metal stove, then pampered all of them, with delicious meals fed gently in their hungry mouths.
Then the former druid got to enjoy her husband all night, as the Empresses were to tired and fell asleep on wooden cots.
She wasn't grossed out anymore, by the large breasts that had grown on her chest, since Pef made sure to love them intently, and that felt very pleasant indeed. Nor were they both stupid virgins anymore, stumbling and struggling to find each other's hot places.
But she would always be his first, and that knowledge always made Aria feel superior to her sisters, even over holy beauties like Jian or Qin, who had fire qi and sparkled in the dark, of so much hotness and prettiness.
And Mia and Pela couldn't even compare, with their boring black hair and eyes. No, she would always be the first, even if she didn't have a golden aura. She lasted two years of Awakening and her aura was silver. Which meant something, but nobody was sure what.
Well, Pef said it was connected to the Veridian Legion and Gaia, but that only muddled the waters.
The Sovereign woke up half an hour early, to make breakfast and analyze the incoming qi pulses.
'Troop movements, Aspirant. The Etna firecone has received reinforcements from the main sect, and are pushing back the Tangerine disciples from the Yellow Plains. They have freed a dozen breeding camps already.' the glove explained after decrypting the continent wide transmissions.
Pef fists clenched once, and he nodded. 'The god behind the Tang sect?'
'See! You can think on your own, recruit. Now, what will you do, as there're hundreds such places here, and the Tangerine disciples can summon mud and stone and even magma golems?' the glove asked rhetorically. It didn't need to ask, but it was more amusing that way.
'What we always do, my orange glove. Kill bad men, and save innocents, one way or another.' the Aspirant declared with a grim tone.
'That's great, but there're five plants you should collect in this area. When Saren arrives, just trade one set for his wife's new rank.' the system advised him in a prophetic manner.
Triangles appeared over a corner map in Pef's vision, and the Sovereign smiled. Reality just became even easier.
The appetizing smell of Legion maize porridge, with a side of cheese and butter, woke up the wives, and they ran out to wash in Pela's water shower, then get dried by Mia's wind qi.
Pef eyed their naked bodies with lustful eyes, and drenched them again, as he liked wet skin even more.
Angry yells and then giggles and laughter sounded, scaring the poor poisonous critters in the marshes.
Then the pranking Sovereign got drenched in turn, and was forced to get naked as well. The breakfast was set aside, as more important matters caught these young cultivators' attention.
It was only by noon that the party began scouring the wet lands for mysterious roots and grasses that would contribute in refining a Yellow Meridian Pill.
A few hours later, a surprise encounter had all four of them gape with various emotions.
"Is that?"
"A King Anaconda!" Mia exclaimed with a happy laugh, unfolding a Sovereign ranked feather polearm and flying ahead, and flashing her weapon once, with her minute sword qi and the wind qi to hasten herself and her weapon.
Half a second, and the Anaconda Emperor blinked in surprise, its head splitting open before it could open its dangerous mouth.
Pef flashed forward and stored the precious body, and then the head, before it sunk back under the murky waters.
Pela arrived next to Mia to hug her in congratulations. "This beast wasn't hard at all...why did you have problems with it, Pef?" Mia asked with naive eyes.
"Eh, I only had two Sky ranked spears and a Sky ranked sword. Plus no extra meridians open or this much practice. Still, nice strike, Mia. I'm very proud of you, and I should kiss you deeply..." the young husband said in a loving voice, then did just that, the kiss taking minutes and minutes.
Pela pursed her lips expecting her own kiss, but she only got a short one, more of a peck.
The search kept on, until hundreds of various ingredients were gathered.
Then Pef sensed a dry shape walking fast towards them, and warned his wives.
A stone golem appeared, somehow stepping on the wet mud without sinking. Pef estimated it at Tyrant rank and just a bit too fast for either Mia or Pela.
Still, it was an opportunity for combat, which was also why they came here. With two fingers, he gestured sharply towards the target, making Mia and Pela assault the golem from two sides.
Pela's hits were stronger and harder, but not precise or focused enough, bouncing off and merely chipping tiny bits from the golem.
Mia instead hit much faster, and once in twenty hits she got a bit of sword qi, gashing a deep cut through the 5-meter tall golem.
But if they weren't airborne, both women would have been overwhelmed already. Aria prepared a trap with some fallen trees and tried to entangle and trip the golem from far away, but the creature was too strong.
'Seen enough?' Pef asked his glove.
'Tyrant ranked Earth mage, 31 kilometers south-east, hidden under a hill. Has a dozen more mages in his garrison.' the glove replied, after deciphering the control qi codes for this primitive remote.
Pef flew up, and his wives abandoned their fight with the golem on the ground.
In a minute they arrived over a red-orange hill, overlooking a small camp. Pef's senses quickly discerned the purpose of the camp. He had seen similar camps in his teenage years, after all.
"Aria, you deal with the men in the camp." The Sovereign ordered in a cold and calm voice.
Meanwhile, a thick fog formed from nowhere, surrounding the hill and obscuring it from view.
A jet of pressurized water emerged from his ring, emptying a thousand tons of water in seconds, and washed the top of the hill away, like a water hose. But much stronger.
A dozen golems formed to fight the attackers, but were swept away with a mere glancing hit from the powerful water jet.
Then, 13 men dressed in reddish robes were revealed, a bit wet and miserable.
Pef took out his beloved puppy and kissed it for luck. "Hands and knees, only. My wives need to have some fun too." He told his knife and imbued it with a second of sword qi.
Then he let go, using the weapon as a magic missile knife.
A streak of white light crisscrossed among the Tangerine disciples, then the knife flew back up, and came back to kiss his user.
While an incurable idiot, this user was quite fun and had quite innovative ideas. Still not a registered Soldier, but then nobody in this universe was. He would have to do.
And its teeth had began growing again, making fights exciting and much less painful.
Mia and Pela descended to attack and finish off the mages, while screams of the impaled men in the breeding camp filled the skies and nearly pierced the concealment fog.
The Sovereign kept watch, making sure no surprises snuck on them from somewhere.
Then, when the mages had been killed and looted, the group met in the camp, finding a thousand women in various sorry states, a couple even pregnant, while the human faced pigs were left impaled on various appropriate wooden stakes or old weapons from Aria's inventory.
Pef took out the new Anaconda, and began crafting a passenger ship, while handing the extracted meat to his wives to be cooked and feed the rescued women.
It took a week for the women to recover somewhat, even when aided by nutritious food.
But it also took a week for most of the rapist scumbags to die, unless a revengeful woman began chopping off bits from him.
Which also often happened, unless their victim was catatonic.
In the end, Pef boarded 700 lucid female victims in his Anaconda Two zeppelin, and set the remaining victims and torturers on a large pyre. After they'd been killed, of course.
It was sad, but for someone not able to survive on her own, they would have become beast food, or maybe get enslaved again. Then Pef pushed the airship towards the nearest city, and landed it on the outskirts.
'City state of Lamia. Patron deity: Tangerine. Accepted cults: Arachne and Sifar.' the glove explained helpfully.
Pef mused a bit at that, going through all the deities he knew about. 'There's another tier 1, right?'
'Indeed. But it's not the kind to need followers. The God of death, or the patron of souls. Clever choice as a mantle, since everything mortal dies.' the glove said a warning tone.
The Sovereign took a snapshot of various Tangerine disciples and rankers, noting two more Tyrants and three Emperors in the city. Not a strong presence at all. There were instead thousands of Spirit ranks, converting qi in an industrial manner, then returning to a nearby breeding pen to recharge.
He pointed Aria at the nearest camp, and Mia and Pela at the next. Then he sped up, flashing through defense arrays and catching both Tyrants with their pants down. His knife flashed a second, leaving the men to stare confused at their elbows and knees lying on the floor.
Then he grabbed them by their heads and sped back, dropping them in front of Mia and Pela.
"What do you say, my lovely wives?" Pef asked with a grim smile, while he broke the jaws of both men before they could say something nasty.
"You're the best Pef! I'll take the one with tentacles tattoos." Pela proclaimed with a wide grin, and started chopping off more bits from the crippled Tyrant.
Mia sighed and just sliced through the other one's head, with her Sovereign feather flashing white with qi.
At the other camp, Aria had already impaled some Emperor through his ass, then dantian then his mouth, and left him getting roasted over a camp fire.
It would take him a month to die that way, but Pef knew it would take some time to civilize this place anyway.
He sped up again, and caught the other two Emperors before they could get away. This time he used his strength to dismember them, and it was a bit difficult. Took him almost a minute of strained muscles.
The disciples in the town got alerted at the intrusion, and gathered in small companies at key locations, sparing Pef the work of finding them among the civilians.
He took out a pigeon feather and slashed in an arc, and then stepped towards the next group. Thousands of low ranks got split in two, then stored into the glove.
What Pef couldn't grasp though, is why there were some women among them. Surely they could see what happened to the victims?
So he asked, leaving a disciple alive just for this question.
"Is what god commands. Some disciples get blessed with female children, and they become mothers for the sect..." the woman proclaimed in fervent righteousness.
Pef nodded and flicked his feather again.
Another body joined his glove, and then he began setting up pyres and get rid of these dark cultists.

PefVersed in the lewd.
In the end, pacifying the city of Lamia only took another week, since most of the scumbags were pointed out by outraged women and terminated with prejudice.
Pef Awakened a hundred new Guardians, set up a few defensive arrays, then left, as a continent was too big to waste time.
A dozen smaller liberated camps later, and five more collectible herbs achieved, Pef finally met with a Volcanic Fire army, organized and trained at the Etna firecone, about 300 Earth ranks and 10 new Tyrants leading them.
Pef landed at their fires, saluting the Tyrants while a happy fire sprite.
"Lord Ignited! We're honored to meet you, again." A middle-aged woman with red highlights in her hair exclaimed, and came to offer a hug, unasked.
The Sovereign accepted the hug, since a hug was a hug, always welcome.
"Sorry lady. I don't remember you..." he said after a dozen seconds, as the woman stepped back and blushed.
"It's okay, I'm Lucia. It doesn't matter anyway, Lord Pef. I was at Phobia, and saw you defeat that ugly monster." the woman said with a tone mixing veneration and awe.
"So, any problems so far?" Pef asked more business like.
"Not anymore, Lord Pef. We have Sovereign feathers, and we leap over the defenses to attack the mages. And our injuries heal in weeks now, well those of us, that fought beside you at Phobia, I mean." the woman explained in a shy voice.
Pef looked over their equipment and noticed it was kinda shabby and weak, and would crumble if a stone golem punched any of these people.
" All Tyrants, come here and hold straight for a minute." he demanded while beginning to search through his large inventory of bones and skins.
Once the 10 fire disciples stood in a line, he passed along them rapidly, pating their shoulders and chest with rapid moves.
Then, before the women could blush or comment, he took out a huge Sovereign ranked spider, and started carving its carapace with his knife. In a minute, the outline of an armor was cut out, and he probed it on the first Tyrant.
It fit quite well, although it was made with some room for clothes and movement. In another minute, a smaller back plate was cut out and probed as well.
He then pierced four slits for shoulder and hip ties, and soul forged four ties from a bit of white Polaris fur. In 5 minutes, a Sovereign ranked armor covered the first Fire Tyrant, not quite perfectly, but strong and durable.
"Well, it would take me an hour to armor all of you, if you want me to? But, you'll need to continue forging the armor for years." Pef asked curious.
The stunned women just nodded hopeful. Who would turn back free Sovereign armor?
Aria just sighed, and began crafting various lances and spears for the lower disciple ranks. Nothing complicated, but Emperor ranked spearheads would be effective for a long time, and never get dull.
In an hour, the Fire Disciples got upgraded to the normal Saint continent standard.
Well, just this army, as Etna had a defense army and another division sent the other way.
As they prepared to part ways, Pef took Lucia aside. "My lady Lucia, I already liberated the city of Lamia. But I don't have forces on this continent. It would be great if you'll station a Tyrant there, and keep half a million people free."
"Errr. I would love to, but my orders take me towards Mynos. And in truth, they have magma golems there. Our fire won't be very effective..."
Pef thought for a second then shrugged. A city freed would make this place safer anyway.
He stepped away, and unfolded the transport Anaconda. "Listen up, Fire Disciples! Board my airship and tonight we dine in Mynos!" he proclaimed heroically.
His wives smiled at his antics, but it was quite his style after all.
And an army to secure the city would make the job easier.
Soon, 300 troops climbed into Anaconda Two, and then got pushed at Mach 2 towards their destination, with 11 Tyrants and 2 Emperors riding in style to save on qi. In 2 hours the city became visible on the horizon, but Pef didn't stop yet.
'City state of Mynos. Patron deity: Tangerine. Spiders and golems present in numbers.' the glove warned as the airship pierced through the defensive barriers and arrays, covered in thick water qi.
Pef landed the transport at speed, crashing through a stone temple of some kind, and squashing untold priests or supplicants. Then a dozen hatches popped open and the air desant troops began pouring out.
Fire torrents and wind bursts from Mia targeted any immediate threats, while Aria spread her wood qi and shackled or spiked the lower ranks.
Pef grabbed Pela and flashed ahead, his sword qi coursing through his wife and her Sovereign feather, decapitating or eviscerating enemy rankers, a dozen Emperors and some 100 spiders, then a pair of Tyrants and lastly bouncing off a magma golem.
He used his water domain to safeguard Pela from being burned alive, while calling out his neo knife.
'You know what to do, dear puppy. Or no more meals!' the Sovereign recruit thought inward.
The knife wasn't too happy, but killing a magma golem would be a nice trophee on his resume.
It slid into Pela's hand, barely nicking her hand, just to get a genome scan.
Then Pef circled back, and sliced five times, his white qi toppling the golem, reducing it to a molten boulder, without arms or legs or even its head.
As Pef sped away, the boulder exploded in a furious firebomb, but only incinerated some of its nearby allies.
The brand new Water Tyrant was deposited next to the Fire Disciples and in Aria's care, then Pef took Mia with him for another fast ranking.
The neo knife grumbled a little, already knowing another female would get to hold it in her hand, for a minute or less.
But this Mia female had given the user a small human puppy, so she was family. It won't be so bad then.
And indeed, this wife even had a tiny bit of teeth for herself, which was amazing for such a low ranked recruit.
Pef flew through the political and religious center of the city, while Mia screamed with joy and excitement.
Her husband sliced and diced, killing a hundred high ranks in a minute, while his water qi was spearing through the lowest ranks with ease.
Then Pef burst into a huge terraced pyramid, following the glove's target tracking and reached a Sovereign priestess, giving birth to a burning homunculus, and surrounded by a hundred adepts and disciples.
"Glory is thy name, holy be your child, Tangerine!" the cultists yelled in demented prayers.
Pef spun once at hyperspeed, Mia and the knife flashing white, shutting all adepts up, as they couldn't chant without heads.
The Sovereign conduit convulsed one more, dropping the half formed golem out and then flashed a purple spike towards Pef.
Our hero jumped and sliced down hitting both targets with one burst of sword qi, then landed badly with his new wind Tyrant ranked beside him. He felt a strange pain in his legs, and so he checked.
He should have looked up. Below his groin, there was only the stone floor, his legs evaporated completely.
'This sucks, my dear glove. I'm half the man I used to be.' Pef remarked in deep agony.
The neo knife flew from the female's hand and came to observe the user. The meat was being corroded and infected, so the knife did a fast decision, as the user did cut a hand before in a similar situation.
It sped forward and cut away the diseased flesh, then flicked it away.
Pef wasn't happy at all, since the cut was perfectly straight and left him with half of his prized lovespear. At least it didn't bleed out anymore, just like all the Legion knife cuts, when it didn't intend for lasting damage.
'Now you're half the man you used to be, Aspirant.' the orange glove commented wisely.
Mia held her left hand up in horror, as her fingers were melting in a purple foam for some reason.
The puppy was well-trained though, and politely discarded the useless arm. Then it did a proud round and dove back into his glove.
The glove collected the infected limbs though, since analyzing the infection might be crucial later.
Comparing how it affected men and women was of interest as well.
Anything that could overwhelm the Legion immunizations was dangerous, and this Tangerine had the purple qi of a Divine beast, just like Xia had warned the user.
In a few minutes, Pef got himself under control, and dragged Mia back towards their backup.
They made a pitiful sight, a Sovereign without legs and a Tyrant without an arm.
"Don't worry guys, it's just a flesh wound." Pef quipped with a grimace.
"I hope the other guy looks worse..." Pela said in a soft whisper.
"It was a crazy woman birthing some lava monster, dear sister. You should go and store her bones though, I kinda forgot..." Mia said in a pained gasp.
Pef nodded and pointed at the stone pyramid. Then he passed out.
It seems losing half his manhood did him in, after all.
He woke up next day, feeling a bit better. The puppy came out and gave him a loving kiss, then Mia did the same, almost fighting with the knife for the honor.
"You better heal up, hubby. But if you need some time, I can wait a couple of years." Mia whispered while checking his groin for damage.
Pef sighed, not really amused. Being a three legs amputee drained all the fun from life.
But he still had hands and lips, so he made it up to Mia, for her kind words.
Aria entered the medical recovery room and just stared for a second in disbelief, having caught the cultivators in the act.
"What the hell, guys! Invite me too, if you get frisky. And kinky..." she demanded in outrage. Then she sat to wait for her turn, as the silly husband wouldn't be going anywhere, without legs.
A minute later, Pela came in with some stew and tea, and set them on a table with a loud bang.
"I'm never invited, to the fun parts..."
Pef smiled a bit awkwardly and gestured her closer. "It's only the first reward for Mia's promotion, my lovely Tyrant. But you're right, as a fair husband I must take care of you all. Aria, you are wasted here though. Go secure the town and punish whoever is guilty. Okay?" he said in a soft voice.
"Yeah, okay. But let's eat first. You'll need your strength, my midget husband." the green haired woman said in a wry voice.
To the joy of everyone, the meaty parts grew back the fastest, so by next week the half-Sovereign was back in action. In bed, but back in action.
His legs took a month to grow back though, but even that was faster than Mia's arm, who hadn't taken a Red pill yet.
As it happens, the strange Tangerine priestess did have some more ingredients for Yellow Meridian Pills, in her storage rings, so when Saren Xi arrived at Mynos with his wife, Pef was able to convince him to craft some pills.
Three Black pills and five Yellow pills, plus a Red pill for the injured wife, meaning Mia.
A week later, both Teria and Aria crossed into early Sovereign rank, Teria first after ingesting the Yellow Meridian Pill,
and Aria after ingesting her Yellow Pill as well, in separate days.
However, Pef kept the last two Yellow pills aside, for Yuan and Lia, as their qi clones would be much more potent.
Aria's wooden clone was much stronger than Pef's water clone even though his rank was a bit higher.
But a Monarch ranked fire clone or a sunlight clone would be powerful as well, perhaps even more.
Pef now had 6 meridians open, which made cultivation a lot easier, coupled with both his circuits opened.
And so, although the Yellow continent and its many cities would take more time to liberate, Pef decided to return home for more practice. With Saren and Teria both Sovereigns, they should be able to clean it quite fast, plus they had armies and reinforcements.
Pef left Lucia a Monarch ranked ring with the Anaconda Two, along with a metal stove for air heating or cooking and more spider shells to forge.
At 300 meters, the airship fit right in the new ring, and so the Fire Tyrant could move her army at speed, instead of marching them for months through rough and dangerous terrain.
She was the one who wondered about the pain at Phobia, but now there wasn't anymore doubt. Lord Pef gave his legs to liberate these poor people, and must have hurt horribly. She couldn't do less, could she?
On the Blue Xi continent, there was a major beast invasion as well, from sea and land.
But Ventu and Hestia worked well together and fried the beasts on the beaches, while a dozen new Xi Tyrants, resulted from the gifted White Pills and armed with full sets of Sovereign armor and weapons butchered the stupid beasts and equipped their regiments with new sets of bones or even meat for those who copied Pef's cooking.
The Patriarch appeared as well, sometimes using an unknown woman as a mace, and crushed thousands of beasts in mere hours.
The new tactics and formations at the Blue Wall worked great, reducing casualties and increasing the ranks of the defenders, as for the past 7 years the Guard's Majors had been called to craft weapons and armor for their regiments, instead of leaving them to fend for themselves. Emperors were called to craft for their Majors, while the Tyrants did whatever old monsters do, since nobody dares to ask.
However, with two Sovereigns and 14 Tyrants, the Patriarchy was not weak at all, even if the second Sovereign was a strange woman always wearing armor from head to toe.
In truth, Sovereign Hestia was weaker than any of the real Xi Tyrants, but she had wide area fire spells which worked great to clear large and concentrated beast waves, leaving only the higher beast ranks to be killed by the sword qi of the Tyrants.
The Wall Command thus issued a directive to search and train any fire qi cultivators, regardless of gender or noble or priestly birth. They were rare, but thousands of such cultivators did exist, even if not yet inducted in the Guard.
When Pef returned home, he did much the same, conscripting all the fire qi users, namely the Fire Disciples, and Awakened them at once, doubling their strength in a single month, and then upgrading them in a horrific but undisclosed manner.
Another year passed, while both continents weathered massive beasts attacks, but they only became stronger.
