Well I very much doubt the technique itself is all that special, but the fact that Jin created/discovered it by himself and seemingly quite easily, that'd probably be shocking.
If you circulate lighting qi in specific form and make the winds blow throught this form then you will recieve the mighty technique of hairdryer.
Many modern technologies are way simpler than they looks.

I'm honestly loving this story to pieces.
The characters are all likeable, the heroine is great, the jokes are funny, and even the damn chicken has a well-developed character.
The CHICKEN.
This is supposed to be a Xianxia. Xianxia stories aren't supposed to have well developed or likeable MC's, let alone the MC's emergency food supply turned disciple.
Great job with this, seriously. By far my favourite Xianxia story matched only by 'Ave Xia Rem Y'. Really looking forwards to reading more.
*sigh* great, now I got an itch for a good Xianxia story that needs to be scratched but those are impossible to find. For some reason, the translated ones from Chinese always seem to have self-centred assholes as MC that only look good because everyone around them is worse or incompetent MCs who survive through amazing luck and even more incompetent enemies. Not to mention the terrible pacing those stories have.
Can anyone point me to a good Xianxia in the same vein as this fic? Despite Casualfarmer putting out a chapter nearly daily, I can't seem to get enough of it.

I'm a big fan of White Collar Cultivator over on SV, but it's dead.

There's also Forge of Destiny, which was also originally a quest on SV.

Wait, why are people calling Jin an Earth cultivator? I would have thought of him as blatantly Wood?
You don't feed wood to wood. You feed earth to wood. That's how the elements cycle according to that system.
Or, wait, no. It was water that fed into wood. I think that wood fed...*Googles some shit* Fire? While suppressing Earth? And while Fire supported Earth? I guess that it makes sense for the spicy root to do good things for the earth when planted into the ground then...That and he's burning those rats. That could be a good thing.
That being said though he does have a river and metal tools so there could be some funky stuff going on here to make some cycles complete.
That being said if he's using Wood elementalism based off of living off of the Earth and using Metal Tools there could very well be some less conventional elemental interactions going on here.

All right, I'm extremely bad at this, but this is so far what I'm envisioning for Jin's big new house.
Spoiler: Jin's house
This is subject to change, though the "river in the house" bit is staying
ok, this looks promising, is that rear area with the river an insulated double glass sun room which also is used for sprouting and potted herbs?

On a humorous note, if Jin was dual cultivating with his land, wouldn't that mean that he is being NTR'ed by his own cock?

How he was able to get a fire technique out of an earth affinity is a mystery to me.
affinity is what you are good at, not the only thing you are allowed to do. a talented singer can still cook breakfast even though they lack any talent for cooking and have a talent for singing.
The fire technique in question is not even combat worthy, it is a basic life quality spell.

What I always hate about Xianxia, is the MC leaving their enemy alive for some stupid reason and then they come back and fuck something up. I would love just one where he just kills the guy in the middle of his I'm awesome speech and just destroys/dumps the body somewhere and not have to deal with their shit. Would be funny if the place becomes a dead zone for asshole cultivators. Also, I agree would be funny if the chicken are like the ones from Legend of Zelda. Those Cucco's are freaking murder on legs.

Try Reverend Insanity.
The MC always kills his enemy if given the chance.
Most of the people he can't kill are just strong as fuck, has ability to counter him, lucky as fuck(like gaining plot armor level luck like getting this ancient inheritence appearing in front of your house level of bullshit), or so fucking beneath him he can swipe with his hand and they die.
You might hate it though it's not for everyone. Especially the preparation arcs, the ending of a volume is always good though.

Cultivating, though, is more like suddenly getting an extra job on top of your, heh, cultivating job, with different requirements, skillset and mindset that not everyone is suited for. An extra job they're going to need a 2 day commute for, so they can't exactly work on their own farm and be an apprentice to Jin. Plus, Jin can only handle so many apprentices at once. And while Jin's cultivating will likely push up the local level and lead to people having more "talent" for cultivation, that's going to take time itself, in the meanwhile he's left with mostly people the local sect would likely flunk out for lacking talent, let alone his original one. This may well be a literally generations-long shift, even if people nearby do start getting lifespan boosts.

That's what he has kids for as they will have high talent and can grow up learning his techniques without needing to travel.
Mastersgt said: ↑
Hope MC will soon be teaching Meilin everything he can. It may not be much. Her "growth" may be slow... But I like the idea of them BOTH being natural cultivators way better than it just being the MC. Especially if she can somewhat catch up to the MC, and they both are at the same level. Maybe have the MC start sharing his Qi with her till she is more in line with where he is? It would be easily explained as something others would never do as it would be a "waste" of Qi.

It would be weirder if she didn't catch up given how both marriage and duel cultivation work.

As nice as it would or will be to see the cute freckled farm girl become a kung-fu princess, I'm mostly interested in her getting to know her husbands animal friends with the perspective of a woman who's both truly native to this land and culture, as well as gifted in sensing the spirit of things. Compared to the rest of this harsh world, her husband has carved out a little slice of paradise for himself, and now her too. I assume she'll be moving in after winter ends? Gives you time to get the house all ready for her arrival.
