Chapter 1 - Why me?

I lent against the bare bricked wall. Attempting to catch my breath and thoes seconds in which I lent against that wall would be the most regrettable moment of my life.

I blink once and I'm still there, I blink a second time and I'm still there but after the third blink I was no longer leaning on that wall rather I was lying on my side. Lying on a quicksand like carpet. I quickly raised my head to check my surroundings but I raised my head to quickly the sudden decrease of blood to my brain caused me to feel light headed. I breathed, shut my eyes and calmed down. I re-opened my eyes taking in my new surroundings. Then it dawned on me. The fact that the red, bricked wall was no longer present and the fact that I was no longer outside. I was in a room that extended into a corridor. Each and every wall was a mustard yellow and hints of mold suggested that the place was abandoned. The sound of flourscent lights humming filled my ears. The room was bright yet dim. And an ominous feeling lingered in my stomach. My body was reacting in a way as If I was in a fight or flight situation. Yet my surroundings were although eary, they were calming. It felt like this place was so familiar yet I had never seen this before. Maybe I was remembering a dream, maybe this was a dream and my real body was slumpt against that red, brick wall. But it couldn't be a dream I was to aware and I felt to present. My mind raced but two questions stuck. What is this place? And how did I get here?
