Chapter 10 - College (3)

After a while, the professor arrived at the auditorium and, upon seeing the complete class, began taking attendance. When it was Ginger's turn, he didn't expect his name to be answered. However, when he heard his name called, he realized it was his voice that had responded. The professor's eyes immediately searched for the source and landed on Ginger. She couldn't contain her joy and excitement, trying to maintain a composed demeanor as she continued with the attendance. Once the attendance was over, she wasted no time and started the lesson.

Throughout the class, Ginger remained focused, absorbing the knowledge being shared. The professor noticed his unwavering attention and felt satisfied. When the lesson concluded, she left the room. Ginger and Sean packed up their belongings, and as they were doing so, Sean spoke up.

"You should go and talk to the professor," Sean suggested.

"Do you really think so?" Ginger asked.

"Yes, you should," James chimed in as he joined the conversation.

"Besides, she looked really happy," Eric added.

"And did you notice that she didn't ask a single question?" James asked, looking puzzled.

"Yes, I did notice. Probably the professor thinks that Ginger didn't fully understand the lesson," Sean replied.

"It's good to be you, getting special treatment," Eric teased.

"I smell jealousy," James jokingly remarked.

"Alright, I'll go then," Ginger said, trying to avoid further discussion.

"Okay then, see you tomorrow," Sean said as he left.

"Don't avoid the conversation," Eric persisted, attempting to continue the conversation.

Leaving the auditorium, Ginger and Sean made their way to the professor's room. Ginger knocked on the door while Sean waited outside. Upon receiving permission to enter, Ginger stepped inside. The professor gestured for him to take a seat, and as Ginger settled in, the conversation began.

"First things first, I don't need an excuse. I'm just glad to see you came back," the professor said.

"Thank you for understanding, and I'm sorry for leaving without notice," Ginger apologized.

"No need to apologize to me. Like I said, I'm glad to have you here," the professor reassured. "Have you caught up with the lessons? If not, I can help you, but only after school and before the afternoon."

"Thank you for your offer. Then I would like to ask you about this..." Ginger initiated a discussion, seeking clarification on a particular topic.

After a while, Ginger realized that Sean was waiting outside.

"I'm sorry, professor, but I think I should head home now," Ginger said.

"Is that so? No problem. We'll continue tomorrow," the professor replied.

"Thank you."

"No problem. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow too."

Leaving the room, Ginger spotted Sean still waiting and playing nearby. Sean approached Ginger and commented, "That took a while."

"Sorry, I ended up asking a lot of questions," Ginger apologized.

"It's okay. As compensation, could you give me a ride home? My father said he couldn't pick me up today," Sean requested.

"No problem. But before that, let's go to the mini-market. I'm thirsty," Ginger suggested.

"That wouldn't be a problem. Let's go," Sean agreed.

They headed to the parking lot, rode to the mini-market, quenched their thirst, and then Ginger took Sean to his house. Afterward, Ginger returned home, parked his motorcycle, changed his clothes, and made his way to the dining room to have dinner with his family. Following the meal, he settled on the sofa for a quick nap. Waking up in the evening, Ginger joined his family once again for dinner and later went to bed.
