" How come? " Jerry can not help but ask her.
" Hmmm! I was saved by someone I did not know. The person bribe one of the goons to save me. She. I was shot he intentional miss the vital point that might lead to death but I lost consciousness and willingness to live at that time compound with the fact that I was thoroughly beaten.
When they ( Bob and Betty) came back to check my body I was barely breathing, so all their thought was I wont make and to avoid unnecessary case he ordered them to throw my body into the river. That was all I heard before darkness overcame me totally. ".
" That son of a bitch? what a devil . " Jerry was fuming with rage that he punched the vase next to him shattering in a million pieces.
" But how did he now saved you amidst others? " Jerry asked when he calm down. Susan looked up to see his hand bleeding from the punch earlier, she call one if the maid to bring the first aid kit. She helped him to removed the glass fragment , disinfect the wound and bandage it.
Jerry did not flinch for once when she was busy all his thought was on how she was saved and how much pain she must have pass through, he blamed himself for withdrawing all his guards he ordered to follow her. His eyes could not help but water he kept blaming himself.
" Why are you crying? did I press on it much? is it paining you that. much? should we go to the hospital? " Susan was so worried when he saw him in tears, she did it know what to do. She has never seen him like this before , she took her phone and dial Peter's phone number but before the call connects he heard his voice. " Don't call him i just want to know how that person manage to safe you? "
Susan dropped the call but she continue to ask if he is OK. She continue her story on when he assured he is is alright only blaming himself for not being there for her. " Don't worry am with you now, you have all the life time to be my Knight in shining armour." She joked . Jerry only smile with tight lips before repeating his question.
Flash back.
Bob entered his car after hearing the gun shot with a smile, he knew there then that his plan is solid without any loopholes. When he got home Betty met him to welcome him. " Babe, how was it? " Betty asked in a worry tone. " Don't worry everything is settled you don't have to fear or regret anything. "
" Babe I want to see her too, pretty please . " Bob nod in understanding before bringing out his phone to place a call to those in charge, not too long the two of them arrived at the warehouse. Betty looked around scared , but when she entered and saw her friend she could not believe what she was seeing." Bob! why did they treat her like this? "
" Like how? what do you mean? You asked to shut her up and do you think there is any other way to shut the bitch up that this? don't worry you have nothing to fear because we are in this together. ". Betty swallowed her saliva, the way Bob was looking into her eyes and talking to her gives her goose pimples.
She also understand the hidden threat in the statement. She know she is in this already and their is no going back.
" What will happen to her body? " She asked Bob after composing herself.
" Don't worry I have already instruct them to toss her body inside the river , with that no one will see or trace her back to us. " He said dotingly rubbing his hand on her hair. " Let go looking at her disgust my eyes. ". After the two left the ware house the leader of the goon instruct three of its member to carry the dead body away and do as instructed.
When the three guys moved about three kilometer away form their base they switch cars. " Hey Hawk where are those people? " Hawk is one of the goon that has collect bribe and he was the one that shot Susan . He manage to convince two more people to be on his side. He knows if he carry out the operation alone, it will not be favourable for him. He has inform them of how much money that is involved.
" Don't worry they are waiting at road A . " Hawk answered focusing on the road.
" But I have a bad feeling about this, boss asked us to take pictures and video to confirm how are we going to do that? I don't want to die you know how boss temper his and that person that hire us. You have seen how devil he his? " The third member could not help but lament.
" Don't be a worrywart , I have made all the arrangement just take pictures and video as many as you want . "
" What do you mean? " Hawk did not answer but just smile and continue to drive. On getting to road A an ambulance was waiting for them.
" Put her into the body bag and take the pictures and make the video as well. " Hawk instruct the two men with him while they get to work . They put her into the bag as instructed and tie a rope on it .
camera was paused for five seconds before the bag was switched with the same one. The ambulance waiting for them has a dead body that gas stayed into the morgue for three years already without anyone claiming the corpse. The person that contacted Hawk as already made an arrangement .
He knows the leader will asked for videos and picture for evidence and to show their client of work well done. Later after the switch the camera was played , the first man keep it on until the bag was thrown into the river below the bridge. They turned back and left the scene after collecting their money in cash.
The bag containing Susan was immediately open , oxygen was fixed on her while the doctors waiting inside the van get to work immediately. She must not be checked in into any hospital , so they take care of her in the van until they exit the country . They switch car again she she was stable .
The car will take them to country C , country C is just Eight hours drive from their country. After arriving at the country they made their way to the airport and board already awaiting private jet that took Susan and the person that will take care of her to country F since it will be safe for her to stay their and quite far from country A.
End of flash back.
" I was sure I was dead when I opened my eyes again after sleeping for two weeks...." Susan jested but she was interrupted by Jerry. " Did that person tell you who the one that saved you was? ". Susan shook her head is negativity. She indeed asked but he just told her she will know when the time is right.
" I must say the person must be very powerful and influential to be able to pull all those string but nevertheless am grateful because I have my wife with me now if not I don't know what I will do. " Jerry said enveloping her in a hug. He is trying to calm his racing heart when he imagine what she pass through in his head. The two separated when they heard someone sniffing behind their back.
" Mother!!!! " They exclaimed. They thought she has went to bed when she left early for them to talk.
" My princess! Am sorry! am sorry you have to pass through all that! How I wish to find that scumbag and uproot his jewel . " Mrs Tim said sobbing silently on Susan's shoulder.
Susan knows she heard her with the statement she said, so to make the atmosphere light she joked which earn a slap on the back of her head. " Hey! mother! you look really ugly with your red eyes and nose, stop crying already else you will turn to....."
" YOU BRAT !!!!....." They two continue to tease each other which make others smile and lessen the thick atmosphere.
