Even though Edward knew both of the Elementalist knights well enough and accepted him with open arms, Edward still did not feel comfortable having to be alone with them. Let alone had to deal with the two of them at once.
Of course, it will be another story if he left alone with Scarlet. He would cuddle her and do what the average couple does.
Perhaps because they were the knights plus the gap of their age quite far, Edward felt cautious. Unknowingly he always behaved carefully so as not to offend them and ruin their friendship with Scarlet.
For Scarlet, the friendship between the knights was essential. So he couldn't break it away because of his carelessness.
"I could smell your tension here. You don't need to worry." Said Kazuto interrupting his reverie.
"Forgive me. It looks like I'm still not used to it."
"We've been together for years. Why are you still not used to it?"
"That is not important at all." cut Shin Ha before Edward answers Kazuto's question. "What's important now, you've found your inamorata. After twenty years of waiting, you finally meet her," exclaimed Shin Ha.
"Really? Did you find your inamorata?" Edward asked cheerfully. "Congratulations! Should we celebrate it?"
Kazuto cringed at the words then sat down in front of Edward, followed by Shin Ha, who had just fully dressed. Why should they celebrate it? Why did Edward look happier if he found his inamorata?
Was it because he still jealous of him?
A long time ago, before Scarlet became a red knight, Kazuto was closed with Scarlet. They were even thinking of marrying each other in the future.
But that was passed. The intimate feelings were gone ever since the girl became a red knight. So Edward shouldn't worry about it.
"To answer your question, between yes and no. Yes, I have found her, and no, I haven't claimed her. I didn't put my symbol on her."
"Why?"
"Why?"
Shin Ha and Edward asked together meanwhile Kazuto heaved a heavy sigh.
"She's at D-level only. I don't feel the flow of her energy at all. If I put my symbol on her, the minute she received my black energy, she will..." Kazuto stoped no longer dared to continue his sentence.
"I understand." Replied Shin Ha before the room's atmosphere became spine-chilling with the flow of his friend's energy.
It was basic knowledge. Not all inamoratas could receive the energy given by the Elementalist knight. There was once was a knight who fell in love with an ordinary girl who did not have any elemental power.
Without preparation or waiting, that knight immediately put the symbol on the girl. As a result, his inamorata often falls ill because her body couldn't afford overwhelming energy not long after the illness caused her death.
Therefore, the Elementalist knight must be mindful of their action when they found the chosen inamorata.
Well, it was an infrequent occasion. Most of the knights would find a strong Elementalist as their inamorata. Alas, this scarce one happened to Kazuto.
"Then what will you do?"
"I will keep my distance before this feeling becomes more..." he stopped once again. He stood there like a statue.
"What's wrong?" Shin Ha became confused to see the unmoving his best friend.
Without answering, Kazuto got up and immediately came out of the room and ran towards somewhere.
Shin Ha and Edward also followed him till they ran into Scarlet.
"Scar!" Edward greeted his fiancee. "I miss you."
Scarlet grinned from ear to ear, hearing his fiance's statement. "Me too. What happened?"
"Ah, right. Kazuto just said he found his inamorata. But then he suddenly ran off somewhere. It seems like something happened."
"You said Kazuto found his inamorata?" Edward nodded his head. "And suddenly, he just ran?" Edward nodded once more his head. "It means something happened to his inamorata."
Huh?
