I straightened and sat up, "Okay so let's start with the test. I was doing really well until I finished all my individual tests. It turned out that someone was trying to sabotage me." "sabotaged! How?" Har interrupted outraged. "A necklace enhancer was sneaked into my cloak pocket with an air weight spell on it. So i was imiantly disqualified. After that I went to this city to clear my head. When I was there I helped out this guy from assassins." "you WHAT?" Har exclaimed concerned. "I'm fine. Hair, let me finish. After I saved him I met The archmage." Isaw my sister's eyes widen and jaw drop which made me laugh. "Ha, apparently she saw me fight the assassins and now I'm her apprentice" "no way, do you know how rare an apprentice is, nonetheless an arch apprentice." Har exclaimed, clapping her hands. "Yeah, it shocked me as well" I said, taking a bite of the steak.
We talked for another hour and caught up. I looked at my watch again and saw it was already 8pm. "I should get home now," I told har. "Yeah" she agreed and we both stood up. Har told me to go get a car and she'll pay the check. Nodding I walked out the door and and waved over a car. I could technically fly over but it was dark out and I was pretty tired. A car stopped in front of me and I started to open the door. "Wait!" Har cut in. She then took out some money from her wallet and handed it to the driver. "Take her to the raven residence." The driver immediately nodded and I got in the car. "I'll come and pick you up tomorrow, see you sis" said Har. "Bye" I waved back.
Then the driver started to go to my home. My family the Ravens weren't senators but still held influence and power. The ride back home was about 20 minutes long. The cars stopped in front of our front gates. I got out of the car and trudged over to the gate post, where a guard was patrolling. I took off my hood and looked at the knight, "I, the second daughter of Raven has returned from the academy." The guards bowed and opened the gates. The raven residence was 8,000 square feet and had a beautiful violet garden. When our family was stripped of our rank we were relocated to this residence which was much smaller than the former Raven residence. But because house Raven still held a lot of influence our house was Babette's then a commoner's.
I walked the rest of the way to our house entering through the side door. A sergeant immediately came to me offering a wet cloth. "Thank you" I said. She bowed and walked away. I stride to the lounge area where I found my mother and father talking. "Hello father and mother" I greeted, slightly bowing. They both looked up and also greeted me. Then they went back to their own conversation. I turned around and went upstairs going to my room. "Why did I expect them to actually worry about me?" I sighed.
I'm not their biological daughter, nor am I Har's biological sister. I was adopted at the age of 5. Apparently I had lost all my memories before that. I was adopted because of my incredible amount of mana generation, my parents thought of me as a tool instead of a daughter like how they thought of Harper. I had nothing against her though, Harper deserved the world. I on the other hand should be grateful for the raven's good will of giving me a comfortable home. They treated me well, they didn't hurt me but respected me. But they treated me like one of their employees which in the end was all I was.
I entered my room and took off my cloak and boots. "Huh, I should wash up now" I mumbled and pulled a string. My personal maid Aria walked in, "you're back miss!" I smiled and opened my arms letting her hug me. She's been a great friend especially since Har left for the academy. Aria was 13 years old just a little younger than me, her hair was wavy but short and a hazelnut color. She pulled away and straightened her skirt. "can you prepare a bat for me" I asked. "Sure thing miss, after do you want me to pack for you." She replied. Har sent a message to the Raven residence informing them of my acceptance into the academy. " yeah that would be great" Aria then went to the bathroom preparing my path. I started strip and then put a robe on.
Aria popped her head back in, " the bath is ready miss" she informed nodding I also went into my bathroom. " you can start packing my clothes. I can wash on my own. Also pack pants, blouses and button up shirts. Also pack a formal dress and skirt, and a few casual outfits." I ordered. "Okay" "thanks Aria."
