CHAPTER ONE: Pipolini
The day began like every other day, a little cloudy and a lot foggy, young Gennevieve Fryst woke up from bed and headed down the shaggy stairs of her little rundown home in the woods. She lived around the borders of pipolini.
Not close to the town's folk but also not so far as she still needed the protection of the town guards. Ever since her parents died it had been her all by herself fighting in this cruel world.
Well…her and miss Downy.
Today, she had to head out to Grove. Given a choice she would prefer to find a job in Pipolini, find love, build a family, but with the weight of debts hanging over her shoulders inherited from her parents, it would be practically impossible to live in peace. So with the boldness of the Frysts' running through her veins she wore her big girl panties and went to Grove. After 3weeks of discouragements, stick-to-it-ness and blind luck, she came across a young girl who knew a maid that worked for an earl who knew a duke whose cousin had fallen sick and left a vacancy at one of the human nobles home.
Now two weeks after she was headed to her new job. The friends of the noblemen were a bit sleazy but, the pay was great.
Later in day after a grueling work pace instilled by the butler who was preparing for a celebration his young master was holding, she was done, dead tired and headed home. Some of the maids who had lived in the manor for a long time tried to advise her to stay the night but she who was a human of habit refused.
" Poor girl…why do you think she would want to travel the streets of Grove at night? Even the grovians avoid it" a maid who tried to stop Gennevieve whispered to her friend.
"She's surely a commoner, a native from that human town, what was it?" her friend furrowed her brows in concentration
"Pipolini"
"Ah yes! That's it, well if she won't listen to counsel she'll just have to live through it, this world is not kind to those without power" her friend responded already bored and beginning to head back to the servant quarters. The was one for a reason and dear Gennevieve was going to find out why soon.
