Chapter 2 - Cunning

The old trader looked at the new Comer's covered face with a smirk on his face.

The newcomer walked forward towards the old man, his foot steps slow and steady.

The man was currently putting on a cloak, hiding his face from people wanting to take a quick peek at his face.

He had broad shoulders which shown visibly clearly through his cloak. Even though his body was hidden in a cloak, his features still divulge his gender as a man.

With further scrutiny, a sharp witted person could be able to deduce certain information about him.

His way of walking shows he had been trained for combat for a very long time probably from a very young age.

Observing his fingers, they were slim, neat and well treated with no callouses n his palm which shows that he is either obsessed with neatness or he comes from a Noble family.

Assuming he was a neat freak, he wouldn't be in the black market in the first place to buy things because the black market is located in an underground space below the surface of the slums region.

That leaves the possibility of him being of a Noble family as the last option.

His shoes though was what give him away. Although his shoes was dirty, it was actually a very expensive brand, made of the finest luxurious materials.

Basically, it was made of miscellaneous materials but it was mostly made of a high level beast skin, tanned, polished and processed with very exquisite techniques.

Which proves how wealthy he or his family is.

Though, a noble in the black market was almost an impossibility due to the fact that the nobles own their own personal catalyst production facilities making it an impossibility for the nobles to ever run out of catalyst.

Different hypothesis could be made. Like maybe the cloaked man was just a servant of a wealthy family but that's impossible because an ordinary servant even if he was a servant of a wealthy family wouldn't recklessly buy a shoe as expensive as the same as the one the cloak man wore.

Even if he managed to buy it, he wouldn't wear it to the black market as it was a dirty place.

Or he could be an illegitimate child of some important figure but due to some reason or the he other, he was denied his rights to retrieve even a single catalyst.

That's is the only plausible option after the deduction.

But sadly, Archie was too angry to notice and even if he was clear headed, he still doesn't have the necessary skills to make such precise deduction.

Although the old trader was normally a very cautious person by nature, but at this very moment, greed clouded over his mind.

He had just received an information from his informant stating that there had been a shortage of catalyst in all of the black market just a few seconds ago.

As a business man with many years of experience, he saw a huge potentially big opportunity to make more money.

Being the last seller of the catalyst in all of the black market he could increase the price by two folds or even three folds and he would still be able to sell it to those in desperate need for it.

The man in cloak raised his left hand, pressing a button which popped out an holographic image in the air, thought visible, it was actually blurred to both the old trader and Arch as they do not possess the necessary eye signature to access the information on the holographic images.

The cloaked man rapidly tapped the images with his fingers. In a few seconds, he flicked his finger towards the old man.

The old man's wrist band lit up, raising his hands to observe his messages. After a while, he raised his head up, his eyes shining a sinister glow.

"I think you are mistaken about about something. In the past, the cost of the catalyst could be accepted for 200 Geno points. But right now, the price us double that if it's original price. Which means, Mr, you would have to pay 400 geno points to get it."

The old man laughed shrewdly as he said that. His eyes opened wide with the thought of selling the catalyst for twice it's normal price.

Arch was staggered back in shock and despair. He originally thought he still had some hope in purchasing the catalyst buy now, there was not a single iota of hope left to purchase it.

Despair filled his mind as he his heart sunk. He sat down on the ground, dispirited.

The atmosphere in the surroundings dropped rapidly as the cloaked man stayed silent for a moment before sighing audibly. "Sigh that's why I hate merchants, they don't keep to their words willing to court death for just little profit."

Meanwhile, Archie was too far gone in his grievance to notice the atmosphere.

The old trader noticed the tense atmosphere but he wasn't worried at all, as a merchant who has been in the black market business for many years, he was very confident in his combat prowess and also, his backer.

No one dared to cause a ruckus in the black market because of the rules and the experts dwelling there.

But the old trader was in for a surprise of his life.

Although the distance between the Old man and the cloaked man was tens of meters apart with the counter between them it was nothing to an Awakened.

Without warning, the cloaked man suddenly stomped his left foot to the ground as countless thin black tendril like aura exploded from within him exposing it self to the world.

Boom!

His figure flashed as he instantly arrived before the counter. Although the counter was obstructing his way, he didn't stop though. In fact, his speed increased exponentially as he rammed into the counter directly without slowing down in the least.

Bam!

The wooden counter immediately broke apart. Wooden debris flying in all directions.

Willing the infinite amount of black tendril surrounding him, it actively wound rapidly intertwining his hands at breakneck speed, making them look a little black. Forming a fist, he punched straightforwardly at the old man, no technique involved just simple brute punch.

Wu! Wu!! Wu!!!

The wind howled as his fist closed in on the old man

Containing enough force to turn the man into meat paste if it lands directly on him.
