"Akio san no! You can't!''
Keitarou put a tight grip around Akio trying to hold him back at all costs. The whole place was on fire and the firebrigades swarmed all over the place.
"I have to...it's still inside'' Akio murmured frantically while trying to move forward but three men including Keitarou had to hold him back from doing so.
"Whatever it is, we can come for it later, its not worth your life..'' Keitarou spoke with quite a frustrated voice, even though Akio was slightly shorter than him since he himself was about 6'2 and Akio was 6'0, nevertheless the shorter one had more strength.
"It is! Worth my life! It's...!'' Akio was still frantic when he suddenly paused noticing a shady figure arriving towards them ''you...''
Keitarou paused as well and turned to see the man, almost the same height as keitarou, a seemingly middle-aged man with pitch black slicked back hair. When the street light fell upon him, his deep dark brown eyes almost appeared reddish brown. He took a puff and dropped his cigarette stepping on it.
Akio's face filled with rage and he broke free from the three men restraining him without any difficulty and threw a punch at the man, who dodged it.
"Its been so long I saw you Akio'' the man said with his deep calm voice.
"You! How dare you! I have a restraining order on you! Wait, were you the one who instigated this fire?!'' Akio yelled fuming with rage, this was the first time Keitarou had ever heard him speak loud.
"You know I wouldn't harm you like this'' the man replied reaching his hand towards Akio's face that Akio brushed away quite violently.
"Go away before I call the cops'' Akio turned away from the man, perhaps he believed him when he said he hadn't done that.
"Go ahead...call them, perhaps you didn't get the notification yet'' the man spoke in a monotone with an expressionless face.
"What notification?'' Akio raised a brow.
"The notification that I'm no longer under restraining order, after almost a decade'' the man's reply made Akio' s eyes widen ''I can finally see you again ''
Keitarou was being observant for quite some time but the other man was annoying him just as much as Akio felt annoyed by him.
"Hey, who are you!'' Keitarou finally spoke up and Akio noticed he was still there.
Akio immediately moved towards keitarou grabbing his arm, trying to take him away. The man also looked at Keitarou for the first time, he noticed how Akio grabbed him by the arm and a somewhat irritated look came over his expressionless face.
"I'm his husband!'' The man spoke up and Keitarou's eyes widened.
"Ex husband'' Akio readily corrected him.
"I do not consider a divorce I never gave you, some stupid court papers do not matter for me, you still belong to me, you are my omega!'' The man got a bit loud too. Akio turned and slapped his face hard enough to leave him with a red cheek.
"I am not a 'thing' that 'belongs' to anybody and you are no longer my marital partner either, whether you consider it or not! That is the fact, as for your so called 'omega', the times are changing, omegas are no longer inferior possessions of the alphas. Just because you have some sort of special pheromones that doesn't make me an inferior person!'' Akio vented out without stopping for a breath.
"Listen to me Akio, you have no where right now, I have a home, I can take you to mine, its yours too'' the man offered.
"No thankyou!'' Keitarou interrupted even before Akio himself could say anything ''Look sir, I don't know who you are or what relationship you both had in past but right now Akio san is with me and he has a home, my home'' Keitarou spoke blunt and outright holding Akio's hand who was dumbfounded.
"With you, huh? And who are you?'' the man eyed Keitarou from head to toe, taking an account of the younger one.
"I'm someone you do not want to mess with'' Keitarou frowned at him. The fire burned even more violently behind Keitarou and distracted Akio from him. The man stared at him for a while then tucked his hands in his pant's pockets walking away.
"Keitarou kun, you shouldn't have done that'' Akio said after the man had left.
"So should I have let him take you? You didn't like him obviously and I care about you'' Keitarou replied.
"Don't act like i'm a damsel in distress kid, he couldn't have taken me, I'm just concerned about you now..you've pretty much challenged his ego'' Akio replied rubbing his temples.
"Hey! I'm not a damsel in distress either, so don't worry about me..come to my apartment, it's big enough for you and your son..this place is in no position for you to stay right now...come when the fire goes down, I'll help you myself to find the culprit and fix this place..'' Keitarou tried to comfort him and turned him away from the scenary that tormented him.
Though Akio seemed much more composed now, ever since he faced that man. It was as if his temporary madness to go inside the burning house had faded away.
He was thinking something and his silence in itself seemed to be holding him back.
"Look if you're gonna argue and give me a lecture about how you can handle yourself I'm telling you I'm not having it and...'' Keitarou went on a breathless rant.
"Ok''
"No, you have to listen you can't say no and...wait what?''
"Ok''
"Ok?''
"Yeah''
"You're not gonna give me a lecture?''
"No''
"You're joking right?''
"Do you want me to give you a lecture''
"No''
"Then keep quiet, but first I need to go to the cops and file a case'' Akio said and walked towards the cops who had just arrived.
"This has to be a dream..how could he just say okay.. '' Keitarou went on talking to himself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A fire?! At your home?'' Aoi whispered holding Natsuro's phone.
"Yeah..I don't know what happened really but I was out and when I returned..'' Akio spoke, he had just given his testimony and was sitting nearby a firebrigade van.
The fire was pretty much out but there was still alot of smoke.
"He's asleep..should I wake him up and tell him?'' Aoi whispered.
"No, wait till morning..I'll come pick him up and tell him myself, thankyou so much for taking care of my son'' Akio spoke softly.
"It's not a problem Hiromitsu san''
"Akio, you can call me Akio san I told you''
"Okay..Akio san...please don't worry about your son..''
"I don't know how to thank you, you're such an angel''
"Thank me by staying strong''
Akio smiled hearing her say that and bid her goodbye before walking to Keitarou's car and got inside.
"Did you contact your son?'' Keitarou asked.
"Well not really but he's in safe hands for tonight, I'll pick him up in morning...I don't wanna ruin his peaceful sleep'' Akio said fiddling with this thumbs. "Thankyou too...for staying with me through this even though we are complete strangers''
"Akio san stop, I don't want you thanking me like this, I'm not doing this to earn your gratitude, I'm just doing this out of humanity, I'd do this for anyone in need'' Keitarou said, Akio nodded seeming a bit disappointed at what he heard but still grateful nevertheless.
"Well, I might be doing it for you actually but you're embarassing me so I have to put it like this'' Keitarou corrected himself, kind of amused at Akio's disappointment.
"Brat'' Akio mumbled.
"You were disappointed just now, weren't you'' Keitarou chuckled.
"Why would I be, don't get too cocky kid'' Akio looked away kind of holding back a smile.
"Don't hide your face now, I know you're happy'' Keitarou teased.
"Keep your eyes on the road, kid'' Akio lightly smacked Keitarou's shoulder.
"Sure thing daddy'' Keitarou laughed.
"Has someone ever told you that you are annoying?'' Akio folded his arms.
"Um hello? My fiancee pretty much dumped me for a loser, I get the signal'' Keitarou accepted.
"Smart boy''
"Aren't I?''
"No, not really''
"So, up for a drink?''
"I could use one''
"Great, me too''
They both smiled looking at eachother, almost staring into one another's eyes until the sound of a horn broke their moment and Akio awkwardly looked elsewhere while Keitarou turned his gaze to the road with a light blush. The two almost had a moment of being tranced by one another's gaze.
Perhaps something more than a house was on fire tonight?
