Chapter 331 - Starlit Trials XIII Sweet Sisel I

"It's sent, but before you leave, why is it you wish to always save Starlight Princesses? Doesn't it become bothersome, and why is it that The First Prince of The Elves would go so far?"

"You could have simply given up and the trial would have been over, you don't always have to complete it"

"While tensions between The Starlight Elves and The Elves are rising even if no one else knows it, do you wish me to believe you didn't know?"

Sterla lazily asked, surprising the young prince before then helplessly shaking his head and writing yet another letter as The First Prince of The Elves taking The Starlit Trial.

Of course, he didn't know what this meant; however he supported The Starlit Elves no matter the case.

He believed in Silvia and her character on behalf of The Starlight Elves, while the letter contained both his mana sealing and blood for verification.

While as for what it truly contained, it was a warning to both sides, he will not allow his effort to go to waste over petty politics.

Even if it may not mean much, it should at the very least mean something? He loved The Starlight Elves after all, and he wanted them to remain close to The Elves. As for who reads it? He didn't truly care.

"Even if my words mean very little, I love The Starlight Elves. I don't wish there to ever be a conflict between either side, deliver this to whoever you wish. I am unable to do anything else due to the limitations of such a trial, however if something were to happen?"

The young prince promised, before then handing her the letter and turning one of his scales into his insignia and infusing it with his mana, alongside blessing her with his marking.

His marking being the one he never truly used or remembered until now, The Marking of The First Prince of The Elves.

It could neither be duplicated or erased unless he did so himself, it was essentially similar to that of Elfine's?

However, outside of the ceremonial sense it couldn't compare to hers, but at the very least elves would sense it and the royals would see it.

If there were ever a conflict he'd wish for her to survive at the very least. Surprising her as he slowly disappeared. He only truly wished it would help.

While soon enough he was onto his last trial, however unlike the others it was chaos!

He may be fairly close to the palace but he wasn't given his normal fifteen minutes or so to prepare and visit the palace first, instead it was already under siege by The Elves?!

Both greatly confusing him and breaking his heart, he didn't know what was happening but this trial made the first look like a joke! It was an all-out war.

And he refused to fail this trial, while also angered beyond belief since his letter must have been ignored!

Resulting in him racing to the palace during the confusion and avoiding the mage canons and confused mental messages questioning who he was and why he was here by the elves.

Causing him to simply ignore them before then immediately placing himself in between the palace and the elven bombardment.

Confusing both sides as to why in the heavens he'd pull such a stunt, causing him having felt even more infuriated to send a deafening roar of sheer frustration.

"I am The First Prince of The Elves, cease all hostilities at once! I will not allow these hostilities to continue!"

The young prince angrily roared before then deactivating his relic and revealing a twenty-meter-tall silver dragon and completely extending his wings as to shield the palace before then finally releasing his dragon menace and mana.

In the hopes that they'd verify his identity or at least one as a royal.

Which already greatly confused The Elves while The Starlight Elves who already knew of what his arrival meant ceased firing. Unfortunately despite the show of good faith, in all but a moment a silver blur had forced him into the ground.

And ultimately using him to create a crater, as if he was nothing?! What was even worse he sensed what it was.. it was a Silver Dragon Aspect?!

Confusing both sides greatly, seeing as even if this individual wasn't The First Prince, she or rather he was still very much a pureblooded royal!

Causing the young prince after standing up from the crater to furiously look above him as she looked down on him, however not in ridicule but simple indifference?

"Forgive me, my sweet prince. However, I'd 'imagine' even if you are a participant of this so-called Starlit Trial. You have no authority here, your interference means very little"

"So please don't interfere any longer, this is neither your era or your battle? While I believe this is also a great misunderstanding. From what I've learned, Starlit Trials and their sole purpose is to 'only' protect Starlight Princesses"

"While it doesn't differentiate based on their crimes or their sins. For you to get so far and not know this is truly unfortunate, I never wished to meet you in such a way, my sweet prince. However please understand that this isn't a trial you're allowed to win"

"The individual you wish to defend and obtain The Mark of Approval from is the very same person who conspired alongside that of The Queen of Senex to destroy the relationship between both that of The Elves and Starlight Elves"

"We are neither at war while this is a joint operation sanctioned between both of our queens, The Elves were simply the closest so please understand"

She gently pleaded, what was even stranger was the fact that she wore a completely enclosed set of Starlight Silver Aspect Armor while only truly displaying her wings and tail.

As per her explanation she was telling the truth and left nothing out.

However, she quite literally kicked him down into a crater in but an instant, and despite appearances it felt as if he broke his spine. Causing him to painfully look up in utter frustration.

"I disagree, as The First Prince of The Elven Race including The Starlight Elves, and The First Holy Prince of Selphine, I don't believe in these barbaric methods. I respect you, big sister, however, if I am unable to fulfill this trial then how could I dare call myself The First Prince of The Elves?!"

"I will not allow the senseless death of Elves no matter if their Void Elves, Snow Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, or Starlight Elves! I refuse to allow myself to disgrace Lady Selphine by allowing this to continue!"

"Unless you propose more peaceful methods, and allow me to speak to this Starlight Princess, then I'd sooner die and speak to Lady Selphine myself!"

The young prince softly bombarded, and prompting the aspect to gently nod.

"You're truly worthy of becoming The First Prince of The Elves, my sweet prince. However, allow this to become yet another trial, if you are truly unable to convince her to surrender herself by the time The Legions of The Starlight Elves arrive then I'll restrain you until she's finally detained"

"My presence is only in response to yours, my sweet prince. While The Silver Legions of The Elves are only here to fulfill their duties"

She gently proposed, causing the young prince to reactivate the relic once more and jump back up into the air.

"I.. promise, but I'm still going to tell Selphie you beat me up! I.. I was so happy to meet you too, you big bully! An-And please don't tell Selphie until I do! I want to surprise big sister.."

The young prince adorably confessed, causing her to gently nod. All the while soon enough he had reached that of the palace's dragon pad before then being led by a wounded palace guard to their princess's den.

Surprising him after noticing she had much of her essence stolen, it was a miracle she was even awake?!

However, after examining her even further.. she was dying and apparently suffering through not only a Void Mind Plague but that of a Blight Plague as well..

She looked around the same age as Noel while sharing many similarities with that of other princesses he had met.

However, despite this she serenely smiled the kindest of smiles that had immediately reminded him of Silvy's, prompting him to immeditely take a seat while she trembly passed him a cup of tea.

"I-I'm truly sorry, the tea is quite cold but i-it's still very tasty. I-I.. I still have some snacks I'd be willing to share?"

"I-I'm sorry, I haven't eaten well as of late.. and I can't sleep without having scary dreams. Bu-But at the very least I could be a good host? Mom-Mommy has always said one should always be kind"

Sisel sweety offered, causing the young prince's heart to break.

"I'm truly sorry sister-"

The young prince tearily apologized, causing Sisel to trembly stick a cookie in his mouth before then sweetly smile.

"Is it tasty?"

Sisel sweetly asked, causing the young prince to tearily nod and her to sweetly giggle.

"Mom-Mommy always said sweets are even tastier when shared-"

Sisel sweetly giggled, before then ultimately being cut off by a series of coughs as she tried her best to wipe away the blood so as he wouldn't notice, fearing she'd become even more burdensome, before then sweetly shaking her head.

"I-I.. I know I'm dying, an-and I know I don't have much time left. I-I'm sorry for being a burden, I-I don't want these kind people to die protecting me.. I-I've begged them to stop fighting but.. they ignore me whenever I ask them to. I-I don't want to be a burden any longer"

"S-So please kill me, I-I can't allow them to die.. I-I'm so sorry. I-I'm so sorry, you can have my snacks. I-I want to die.. an-and I'm too weak to do it myself"

Sisel sweetly asked, as if innocently asking for another snack, shattering the young prince's heart. However, there wasn't anything he could truly do. Causing him to trembling stand up before then simply hugging her.

"Let me.. ask you first, what would you do if you were given another chance after death?"

The young prince softly asked, causing Sisel to adorably contemplate before then resolutely nodding.

"I-I'd eat snacks with you of course? I-I really love sharing snacks, I-I'm an awful princess, maybe if I was better, I could have stopped them from dying o-or if I was braver I would have already died"

Sisel sweetly answered, causing the young prince to tearily nod as he trembly hugged he as much as he truly could as she rubbed his back to make him feel better.

And after sneaking her remaining snacks into his armor so he could enjoy them for later she sweetly closed her eyes.

Prompting the young prince to after several moments to painlessly remove her heart, so much so that there was no blood as he had already healed such a wound.

Causing her to sweetly kiss his cheek and giving him her mark of approval as if her last thank you as she slowly went limp causing him to then eat her heart and hope he could give her another chance.

However he hated himself for eating her heart but he had no other way without revealing anything else.

Causing him to carry her to her bed and tuck her in as tears streamed down his face, and after kissing her forehead, he had soon left her room, and closed her door as he left the palace and met The Silver Dragon Aspect in the sky.

However, he was far more than simply upset. She should've known what he was being sent into! Was his lie detector broken or did she truly believe what she said?

And why is the Starlight Elves already here? No matter the case his heart was already broken and he was now filled with so much anger!

"How dare you.. how dare you allow her last dying moments be that of a siege!"

The young prince angrily roared at the top of his lungs and brought utter silence to the once chaotic siege, causing the silver aspect to gently shake her head before then being cut off once more.

"You allowed the Queen of Senex to steal her essence, The Void to rob her of her dreams, and The Blight to poison her, 'you' allowed her to suffer during her final days!"

"She survived it all in the hopes of being saved but by the time you unforgivable traitors arrived, she only wished for death!"

The young prince furiously fumed.
