Synopsis
I have never made a book Before and I suck at grammar but bear with me. I will try to make an interesting story. "The Javelin" is a book about some kid in a world that loved Javelins he decided to fight in a tournament and got his ass kicked up, down, and all around. Everyone told him that Javelins were a bad weapon, but he never listened. He had good eyesight especially among the Gastrolights. They were mostly human but with the eyesight of eagles and hawks. A little lower intelligence, not much though. Heavily discriminated against they like to live in camps in the woods even though they are allowed into cities, they are luckier than most other races. No systems in this, while if you do them right they are fantastic, its really easy to get them wrong plus I hate systems in general unless its comedic relief.

Chapter 1 - The Tournament

In an arena two humans were fighting, one was overpowering the other. The overpowering one slammed down his warhammer into the skull of the other combatant, blodd splattered everywhere. The Crowed roared up with cheers as the challenger walked back into the dark, almost pitch black doorway. He put away his warhammer and sneered "Weakling..." he walked back to the benches and sat down.

"Don't you think you should've spared him?" another challenger asked.

"I know you wouldn't, so as someone who actually wants to win this, I decided to stop him from killing me tonight." The challenger responded.

"Fair enough, although you could have just hospitalized him." The other challenger retorted. he stood up and headed to the blinding light. It was his turn, he was using a bow and his arrows were inscribed with a "returning" rune. This was common among archers and its how scribes made their money. the "returning" rune uses magic power from the air and brings what ever is inscribed to the owner. The challenger made it to the end of the tunnel where the crowd was silent. Looking over at his opponent he noticed that he was not human, but a gastrolight. The stranger was using what appeared to be spears but shorter, were they javelins? He was amused, he knew Gastrolights had exeptional eyesight. They usually use bows because of the long range that goes well with their eyesight but Javelins are a new one for him. He thought about it and wondered why this one didn't use a bow, he decided not to dwell on it and got ready for battle.

The battle begins, the archer keeps his eyes peeled. Since it was a battle of ranged weapons it was mostly based on who could hit the other from a farther distance . He nocks an arrow, he aims and he sees the Javelin thrower pulling back. He decides to wait and see how far the other party would make it, they were currently 20 meters apart. He sees the Gastrolight throw the Javelin... it was... such a bad throw... it barely made it halfway. "What the hell was that, its like you're arm went limp at the end." he laughed. The crowd was not pleased, you could see them pulling back others shouting at the gastrolight, mostly slurs, some not really. The archer shoots three arrows and two of them hit the gastrolight right in the thigh, he screams in pain and yeilds. The medics came out and brought the gastrolight back.

"Congratulations idiot this is why we shouldn't let your kind in these tournaments, you're too stupud to actually accomplish anything." he laughed and eventually dropped the gastrolight out of the arena gates. He closed the gate as he walked back in. The Gastrolight Walks out of the city and into the forest, he makes it back to his tribe.

"I told you it wouldn't work" His father told him.

"I knew it wouldn't but it was better than others" he replied

"You didn't make it past the first round" the father retorted

"Well, I could've made it farther if I wasn't facing an archer. I'll train for a while and try again next year." the teen responded.

"You better, 100 stone throws everyday until then, here's your dinner." the father said.
