"Oh, and how did they die?" Hoizon asked pointedly. The vampire history started flowing through my head as I tried to cypher out what he was getting at. Then it clicked.
The humans did die off before, or they were presumed dead when vampirism first began as there were not any humans left. There was us, the animals, and the plant life but no humans.
'Do not tell him.' I thought out loud. 'Evade the topic.' It was hard to dismiss the topic without answering with Hoizon as he was very smart, genius in fact.
"I do not know how they died." The demon lied. I had to hone my senses and focus to keep my pulse from racing at the sudden lie. The third prince looked at my wrists where my pulse was prominent to see if we were lying.
"He is telling the truth." The prince said to Hoizon. We dodged one bullet. Now to see if we could evade the other questions.
"What are you?" Hoizon asked next. This was the question that was going to decide whether we continued to domination or died here tonight.
"I am a demon, as your texts have called me. There are a few differences but that is what is most closely associated with my kind." The demon said truthfully. The blood was surging as we tensed up preparing to fight for our lives. My neck's veins were protruding as we got ready.
"I figured as much. We have tales of your kind in the legends." Hoizon said without moving a muscle. He was unusually still.
"I doubt you have anything near the truth." The demon said back. Their actual likeness was far from what the vampires had in legend.
"What was that?" Hoizon said now standing behind us. It did not register to either of us that he moved. His motion was instantaneous.
With a sharp gasp, the demon jumped us away. Neither of us liked being snuck up on like that. It was unsettling to see just how fast the head prince was.
"Do not do that again." The demon said uneasily. "Your legends are far from the truth."
"How so?" Hoizon said sitting back in his throne. We were still astonished with his speed. He traveled the full fifteen meters in the second between when we stopped talking and he started.
"What is your next question?" The demon said dodging the question. He was still trying to put me back in the driver's seat but I was having none of it.
"What is, or rather was, your actual body like?" Hideki interjected. "You must have been something special considering your capabilities."
"Well, I was a plasmoid demon. My body was made entirely of a plasma-like black substance. I could change form at will and move at hyper sonic speeds. Even Hoizon would not be able to keep up with me if I was back in my body. His movement speed is a mere fraction of what I was capable of." The demon boasted. I had to believe him as he had yet to lie to me thus far. And he was a mere passenger in my body.
"A plasmoid? What other kinds of demons are there?" The third prince asked. This had gone from a few questions to an interrogation. They were asking questions that never even popped into my mind and I was the one attached to him.
"There are fourteen classifications of demon on my home plane. We all differ in battle strength and age of origin." The demon said beginning to lose interest in the topic. He was very passive aggressive talking about the other demons.
"And how far up the power scale are you, the plasmoids?" Hideki asked interest piqued.
'He is intent on getting all the information he can on you for your next battle, it seems' I thought to the demon. The prince was proving to be quite a persistent thorn in our side.
"That is not something your kind needs to know. Ask me again in a few millennia." The demon said before sitting down and putting our elbow on our knee.
"This will be the last question before you can give the reigns back to Skytel; what is your name?" Hoizon asked straining his ear to make sure he heard the answer.
"This will be my leave then." The demon said before we switched back out. I could lie and make sure they did not ask anymore questions.
"Bring him back!" Hoizon angrily said. He was not one to be toyed with. Being that we were the first of our kind, he had no way of knowing if what I said was truth or not.
"I cannot. Once we double switch like that, we have to wait a full twenty-four hours before we can switch back out again. I could kill us both and he would be powerless to stop us." I lied focusing my efforts on steadying my pulse. A nod from the other prince was all the assurance Hoizon needed before he dropped the subject.
"You can go then." Hoizon said with a wave of his hand. He had no interest in carrying this conversation without the demon.
Upon him dodging the question, I realized I had never heard the demon's name either. He had just been 'the demon' this whole time.
I put my hands behind my head as we walked back to our room. Everyone was very friendly in the corridors, besides the recruits. They were openly hostile as they moved as far away from where I walked as possible with scowls on their faces.
A smirk sent their anger skyrocketing but they could not act upon it so I just laughed as we continued walking. There were some high fives, a couple of bows, some fist bumps, a few hugs, a lot of affection from all the vampires.
I was beaming when we got back to the room. The demon was quiet as usual. The only time he ever gave me any interaction was when we were fighting or he needed to have a talk with me about something. Otherwise I was alone in my head.
The day came and went as we slept. I wanted to party with how good I felt. We took a trip to the city so we could get in on a party. There was always something going on in the city, especially on a weekend.
We had to be careful of the university as they were still on high alert against us because of the dorm slaughter just a short while before. That was out of the question. We heard a commotion coming from one of the rooftop pools.
'Party found.' The demon said. It would be suspicious if we jumped up from the ground as it was a few dozen stories up. We could not come up the wall, either, so we had to take the elevator.
As we stood in the elevator, the other pair of people were already dressed for the pool. One had on a bikini and the other just trunks. We did not have trunks so we would have to take them from this kid. We all exited the elevator together on the penthouse floor but when we passed a bathroom, we dragged the man in.
With one quick snap of the neck, we dispatched him and took the trunks off his body before putting him in a stall. We had a drink as well before getting to the party.
His female friend was waiting by the pool entrance. She would be waiting for a long time. Luckily we managed to pass her on the opposite side of someone else so she never saw our swim trunks.
The pool was lit from underneath giving the water a fluorescent look. We were not invited as a pair of men came up to escort us out. We managed to dodge them between a pair of men before backing into a group of females. The men followed us into the group to escort us but they were waved off by the women.
"And who might you be?" one of the girls asked. She was wearing a shiny purple bikini. She also had purple hair that was up in space buns.
"My name is Skytel. And you are?" I asked as I took the woman's hand to kiss. This elicited giggles from her companions sitting next to her.
"I am the one who threw this party. My name is Lex." The woman said back after a small giggle. It was an adorable laugh that threw me for a loop. The woman kept glancing over at her companions as they sat and we talked.
After a few minutes of these continuous looks, they finally got the message. They got up to go talk to someone else somewhere else. I sat down in one of the chairs they got up from after pushing it a little closer.
"How did you push that? They're bolted to the ground." Lex said staring in disbelief. I had not noticed it was bolted as she had my full attention.
"Faulty bolts, I guess." I said with an innocent laugh. We had to keep a closer eye out for things like that going forward.
"You take good care of yourself, I see. Are you an athlete?" The woman asked looking down at my chest and torso. I motioned my hands up from my stomach to my eyes.
"Eyes up here." I said with a laugh. "I was an athlete in a previous life, yes. But I just condition myself well with some martial arts now."
"That is a question for a different time. You must do a lot of martial arts. I have a few mates in martial arts but none of them are as toned as you. Your body is impressive to say the least." She said looking back down at my torso. Her eyes drifted further down to my trunks. They did have an interesting pattern on them but we both knew she was not looking at the pattern.
"Like what you see?" I asked looking at her with interest. She was a beautiful woman to say the least. Shoulder length purple hair, black eyeliner, a tight fitting bikini that accentuated her curves. She seemed relatively tall from the way she was laying.
"I do. I wonder what you have hidden down there." She blurted out without thinking. She looked at me with surprise hearing herself say it.
"I am so sorry. I did not mean to say that out loud."
I laughed and said, "It is quite alright. You must have meant to think it to yourself. Well how about we take a dip in the pool and if we have chemistry, maybe we can take this to your room later on after the party."
We swam and partied in the pool for the rest of the night. When the big dance songs came on, everyone jumped in the pool and we danced it out in the water. I was not the best dancer ever but with my newfound vampire strength, I could breakdance even in the water which amazed everyone.
After a few hours of partying, people started to take their exits. It took another hour before everyone had cleared out. It was just Lex, me, a few security guards, and the bar hand. If not for the pool having been there, I would have been a sweaty mess with all that dancing.
"Is the offer from before still open?" I asked Lex as I rubbed my legs off with a towel. My hair was still wet as well so I moved to it after my legs.
"I was just going to ask you the same thing. So I take it as a yes to coming back to my room with me. Then follow along." She said as she threw the towel to one of the security guards and guided me back into the hallway. I slapped her on the butt knowing we were about to move the party from the pool to the room.
The elevator only went down one floor to her hall. There was only one door at the end of the hall but upon entering I could see the room wrapped on both sides down the hall.
'Are you going to be able to control yourself when my adrenaline starts pumping?' I asked the demon inside. I had not yet tried anything sexual since he came out for the first time.
'Calm down. I am thousands of years old. A little sex will not be enough to rile me up. Enjoy yourself.' The demon replied absent of emotion. I snapped back to my senses when Lex was pouring a drink for us both. She held her drink in her hand as she straddled me and we both drank. Feeling her toned butt and legs sitting on me was turning me on.
I had to put our drinks on our table when she started wiggling her butt around on my groin. With no effort, I picked her up and carried her to the bed.
The night came and went. It was a little past noon before she woke up but I had just gone to sleep not too long before. She started to open the curtains to let the sun in but the instant it hit my skin, my skin burned.
I snapped awake and jumped back from the sunlight. Lex looked at me in fright seeing my skin burn in the sunlight.
"Well this is quite the interesting dilemma, isn't it?" I said standing on the opposite side of the room from her.
