When I woke up at dawn, I felt totally refreshed. It was the most rested I had felt in months, maybe even years. I stretched after getting out of the bed and looked at my bed mate. She was just as gorgeous in the morning without makeup as she had been the night before. Ally stood up almost bionically. She just pushed herself up from the ground and walked out of the room.
Kristine was moving around in the bed as she woke up. To my surprise, she did not have a top on. She scooted towards the top of the bed but pulled the blanket with her.
"Good morning. How did you sleep?" She asked me rubbing her eyes. Her hair was all frizzy and the blankets covered most of her features but she still looked absolutely gorgeous.
"Incredibly, thank you for asking. How about you?" I asked back shocked at how good she looked half awake. She stretched her arms out and just as she did the blanket slipped a tad bit. She caught it before it revealed anything to private.
"It was well. It has been a long time since I last had anyone in the bed with me other than Ally, especially a man." Kristine said with a smile. I finished putting my clothes on and left the room. The schedule for the night was extensive. We were supposed to train, meet the instructor, get me fitted for my clothes and a few other odds and ins. We started off going to the tailor.
We walked into a large clothing area filled with very high end clothes from suits and tuxedos to dresses. Diach wore tuxedos most of the time but I had no experience with this caliber of clothing or lifestyle so I let him do all the talking.
The tailor was an older gentleman who was in near perfect condition besides the obvious aging of his body. Unlike most tailors in the human world, he stood with perfect posture and moved with a purpose.
"Diach, welcome. Are you here for your normal order" The old man asked him. He was measuring something else the entire time he talked.
"No, not today. I am still okay for now. Today we are here for this young man; my new recruit, Skytel." Diach beamed with pride. This made the tailor look up from his work over at me as he eyed me up and down. It was almost like I was a mythical creature to him.
"The infamous Diach made someone? Well isn't this a rare occurence. What made you change your mind?" The tailor asked still watching me as I stood there looking at him. This was the second time someone acted like Diach would never make another vampire. He seemed friendly enough from my experience so I could not guess why he would not.
"We will talk about it another time. For now, could you get my recruit into a proper suit? He does not have much experience with this so I figured we would buy him a few of both to see which he likes more and go from there. We need the whole fit; suit, tux, tie, bowtie, shoes, socks, pocket square, everything." Diach said sitting down in a chair across from me.
The man stopped working on whatever he had before and walked over. He started off taking measurements of my shoulders, wing span, waist width, chest width and body length.
When he got everything he needed, he left into the back to get some suits and tuxes. The suits were a different size then the tuxes but I did not think anything of it since he knew what he was doing. As I slipped the pants and shirt on, I had to get Diach to help with the jacket and ties.
"Diach, I do not know what I am doing in here. Can I get some help, please?" I called out from the dressing room only to be met with a laugh from him. He just thought it was hilarious that I did not know how to button up a vest and suit and tie a tie. Considering I had no experience with it, I thought I was doing rather well.
The first was a black suit with a red undershirt and black tie. It was very spiffy and I liked it a lot. As I stepped out to see myself in the full body mirror, I was impressed with the look but it was a little tight. It felt like it would restrict my movements if I was to fight in it.
"So what do you think?" Diach said straightening my tie for me. After I held my arms out and really took in what I saw, I had to reject it.
"I like it a lot but it is a little tight. Is there any way we can get it a little bigger?" I asked pulling at the tie to loosen it.
"This is the correct length. Try the tuxedo. You may like that one more. I am more of a tuxedo man myself." Diach said helping me untie the tie and unbutton my jacket. The pants were a work of art and I could not figure out the double button system to save my life. I tried on the tuxedo next and was much happier with it. It was also black with red details.
That was going to be my style choice it seemed. Just then, Kristine made her way into the tailor to get more dresses. She saw me for the first time in this formal attire and her jaw dropped from the sight.
"Wow, look at you. You look amazing." She said looking at me with lust in her eyes. It was the most desire I had ever seen her with. I put my arms back down and walked over to her. As I came closer, she straightened her face back out and cleared her throat.
"You like me in this suit, do you?" I said privy to her desire. She tried to deny it but Ally and I could see it written on her face.
"I do not know what you mean. You look okay." Kristine said not looking at me. I grabbed her hand and twirled her around under my arm. She let out a joyous laugh as I did before pushing me away. Diach cleared his throat as I continued to play with her to signal me it was time to leave.
We both said our goodbyes before parting ways. When I approved of the tuxedo, we left the tailor with four full tuxedos and made our way to the arsenal.
A man was looking over some weapons as we entered. It was still just as big now as when I was there last time. It was a marveling sight. As we came through the walkway, the man stopped looking over the weapons.
"Diach, who is here with you? Is this the recruit I have heard so much about?" The man asked without turning towards us. With the distance between us, I was amazed he knew there was even one of us let alone two. I did not take silent footsteps like some of the others in the clan but they were by no means stomps and Diach's footsteps were actually silent. He could be walking around inches behind and a person would never know.
"Master," Diach said getting down on one knee. "This is Skytel, my recruit. We have come so he could get his first lesson."
"Ah, yes, the princes mentioned that was today. You will have to forgive me, I completely lost track of time. Those damned soldiers always handle their weapons so poorly." The man said clearly frustrated as he vigorously shined one of the axes.
The weapons were still in very good shape, especially for it to make someone this mad. This must have been his whole life's work if he was as worked up as he was from a few mild scratches and some unpolishing.
"Well let us hope my recruit is different." Diach said still kneeling. The man motioned for him to stand before turning and walking towards us. As he walked to us, I could see only white in his eyes. He had no iris or pupil at all. It was a little frightening but also interesting to see someone with only cornea.
I waved my hand in front of his face when he was close but he did not move. Quick as lightning, he snatched my hand out of the hand and his furrowed his eyebrows.
"Haven't your parents ever told you it is rude to wave your hand in front of stranger's faces?" The man said aggravated. The vein was coming out on the side of his head as he spoke to me. I must have offended him but I truly did not think he would realize what I was doing.
"This is the trainer, Odesza. He is blind, as you guessed, but he sees through hearing and smell. Everything you do, he can 'see'. So you waving your hand in front of him pissed him off." Diach said motioning towards the man. He turned his head in my direction and gave me a look. It was confusing me how a conventionally blind man could fight anyone let alone train them. After careful consideration, I still could not figure it out so I just let it go.
"Well you go to the other side and come at me with intent to kill. I am sure you are wondering how a blind man could train anyone. Allow me to show you." The man said walking in the other direction from where he motioned me. I could not use my full strength against a blind man. I would feel bad about beating up a cripple.
"You better take this serious, Skytel." Diach said sitting down with a judgmental face. The man motioned me forward but I could not work up to attacking him so I walked over and threw a slow kick. Instantly he tripped me and kicked me away. I slid across the ground as I came down. There was no denying he was strong but it must have been a coincidence.
He could not counter me without being able to see me. I got a tad frustrated and attacked again more seriously this time but the result was the same. He tossed me over his shoulder and kicked me away again.
"I told you to take this seriously." Diach said with a small laugh. He continued watching as we fought.
'This old man is beating me while blind? That will not go unpunished.' I thought looking at him. He still looked like he was unbothered. I got down on all fours before launching myself towards him at full speed to skewer him. He move back to avoid before bring his arm down onto mine to change my flight path. Before I hit the ground, he put his knee out so I came down chin first onto his knee. With each attack, I was getting angrier and angrier.
'You have got to control your rage. You cannot rely on your transformation every time you fight someone. Calm down.' I yelled inside my mind. I took a few breathes to calm down before attacking again. After I refocused, I attacked again.
"Ah, I am not going to see your rage transformation today it seems." The old man said listening to my breaths. I could tell from the first attack that that was what he was aiming at. I was definitely stronger and faster when I let the anger take over but I was not fighting with a clear head. I needed to be tactically aware to stand a chance against stronger opponents.
When I was calm again I darted from side to side to get close. Odesza followed me effortlessly as I came closer. I threw a two punch combo followed by a kick and a stomp, all of which he evaded skillfully. The instant my foot hit the ground from the stomp, the man put his knee against my leg and thrust into me making me lose balance. He kicked me in the chest as I fell over before stomping down into me and pinning me on the ground.
There was a reason he was the trainer of the vampires and I was beginning to see why. He was even stronger than Hideki. I at least hit Hideki a few times, I was not even close to touching Odesza. As we fought, I noticed he would occasionally stop moving for a moment to listen to what I was doing. I was going to try attacking from the air but he would feel my wings flapping air onto him so I could not do that. Finally, I figured out a strategy.
I threw dust from the ground into the air and used the second it made a sound to attack. It caught him off guard allowing me to land a kick on him. He curled slightly and stepped sideways from the kick before getting back into his stance.
"Oh, you are quite the cunning fighter, aren't you?" Odesza said interested. That was a one shot strategy and I would have to figure out something else to be successful going forward. Before I could come up with a strategy, he kicked me in the chest again and sent me sprawling backwards. I stood up and changed stances to the water crusher stance.
With this, I was much more successful in blocking him but I still could not hit him. He changed from blocking to evading with this style. He must have known I was stronger when using this fighting style. As I whipped my arm around to get him to step back and dodge, he ducked and delivered a flying knee to my chin. Just as the rage was taking over, he called it.
"That is enough. I have a rough estimate of what you are capable of. Training will start tomorrow. I was not expecting you to have this much fight training. I thought you were another hoodlum pulled from some random street but it would seem someone has trained you before.
I will come up with a plan by tomorrow." Odesza said standing back up and walking away. Diach was giving me a thumbs up as I stood and looked confusedly at him. It was an odd place to end a fight but I could not exactly force him to keep fighting me.
Diach walked me back to the bar while going over what I did wrong and what was a good tactic of my fight. It was something we often went over together after my fights. Usually I could not recall most of the fight because of the anger but this time I was in full control and listened intently to what he said.
Like the previous night, when we got to the bar, Kristine and Ally were sitting having a drink. They motioned us over to them to join. Ally and Diach walked away together as they had the previous night and left Kristine and I together.
"What have you been doing since you left the tailor?" Kristine asked me looking at my bruised eye. I was a tad battered but not as much as when I fought the prince. This was just training not sending a message.
"I was training with the man Odesza." I said simply looking at Kristine's hand resting on the table. I wanted to hold it but it was not the time for that.
"Oh, and how did it go?" She asked interested. Judging from my face, she must have known how it went already. She was just asking to be nice.
"It went exactly how you think it did. I got tossed around like a dummy." I said annoyed. I was sick of getting beat up every night.
"Well you will fare better after you have a few lessons. You did not take him seriously since he is blind, huh?" She guessed. I shrugged and she let out a laugh.
"It was the same for the rest of us. I am not sure how it works but he can see somehow. His hearing and smell lend themselves to something else. That man can see in some way." Kristine said thinking about the old man. I was not interested in talking about the beating but just wanted to lay down with Kristine again. She picked up on it and lead me out but not to her room. There was an open room in the male's area that she took me to.
"I told you you cannot sleep with me every night. This is you and Diach's room for the time being until a room can be renovated for you both. It is not the best but it will do for now." Kristine said looking around the room. It was much different from her room but not bad by any means. I was disappointed that we would not spend the night together again but I had to look past it. It just was not time for us yet.
Kristine gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. Diach joined a few minutes later. We did not talk much before I went to sleep. It had been a long day and I needed some sleep. I was also anticipating training the next night so I tried to rush to sleep.
