Chapter 13 - Blood bath

The man coughed as the teacher stood in rage. She then picked him up and held him by the neck and veered him closer to her mouth. As the strands of intestines hung from him. "I rather not say in front of a kid of mine, but you, my friend, are a different story." She then with the bloody hand covered Zach's ability to see. "Zach, close your eyes, I don't want you to see this." Zach found himself closing his eyes and her hand leaving from his face. He realized what she kept saying "I don't want." As if she never wanted anything, the only times that "I want" was used was in band. But even then, she never asked so much.

Zach kept fighting with his inner thoughts, until they came with an agreement, to open their eyes. When he opened his eyes he saw his teacher ripping off The priest's rosary beads as if she couldn't touch him with the cross on them. "Please I'm sorry." The man shrieked. To Zach, the room had gotten darker as Ms. Yuri had gotten closer to him. "Sir, I think it's way to late to apologize, you killed his dog, you tried to pin him to his bed, I think that the church would most be disappointed." Then slowly Ms. Yuri opened her mouth to reveal sharp canine fangs, both of her hands grasped the sides of his head with a sharp twist, a disfiguration was now in the priest's neck. His legs started twitching then relaxed. Then with a sudden motion, Ms.Yuri bit down on the man's neck tearing the flesh and ripping of the layers of skin. As she then placed the piece of flesh she bit off in her hands. She then stood up and grabbed the corpse by the collar and then dragged him out of into the darkness she then looked back to see Zach in horror. "I asked for one thing." She said with blood pouring down her chin. "I asked for you not to look did I not?" She said rather calmly. Zach stood as still as he could be. She then dropped the corpse and walked over to the dog. She knelt down beside Charlie and lifted his neck and dropped it to see it fall.

She then pressed her hands on Charlie's stomach and closed her eyes. Charlie then began breathing again, but he didn't move. She then stood up and smiled "If only I had realized you were watching I would've taken him away and then do my business." Zach then snapped. "I have never been more terrified of you! I looked up to you!, I stood by you when this shit had happened!, And yet you sit there like everything is taunting you to give up!" Ms. Yuri sat there and smiled. "Because the world is taunting me if you weren't in the band room when I suddenly lost it, none of this would happen. I put myself always on the line for you kids. I work day and night for all of you, While I am losing my mind because I know that I will never be enough."

Zach then slowly realized what she meant. "But why us?! Why do you care!? Why are you so kind!?" He said through tears. "Because life is a game that we all play, you hit the wrong space you lose your turn to be able to play, why I am kind is another reason, why I care is because I like helping others we are like a ship's crew, The crew does the work trying to live their lives while the captain steers everyone in the right direction, to make good decision so the boat doesn' t sink." Zach was confused. "But how does that matter?" Ms. Yuri just smiled. "You will soon realize it." And she picked up the corpse of her victim and walked away into the dark abyss, whistling When The Saints Go Marching In. It became slowly lighter, and Zach could never erase the scene if he had tried. Charlie began to move and stood up and shook it off like his neck was never broken. The dog went over to his confused human. Almost everything went back to normal as if it had never happened, the downstairs was clean and not destroyed. Zach checked his phone to see if his mom's call was on there. It wasn't the last person he had called was Zoey for Slide oil. It was as if nothing had ever happened. The more Zach contemplated it the more surreal it became. Charlie began barking again, but this time the playful bark turned more lower in tone. The more Zach looked at the puppy, he realized Ms. Yuri made him grow. He was taller, gained a little more weight, and had longer hair.

Zach sat down on the ground to play with Charlie, grabbing the tug of war rope. They had played for about two hours until he heard the keys jingle inside the door. The door opened to reveal Zach's father in uniform with a duffel bag. "Heya Sport." He said walking away to the kitchen as he rustled his son's hair. "How was practice?" Zach shrugged and dropped the rope. "Eh...It got canceled, Cathy had a seizure." His dad set the duffel bag down. "Is she ok?" Zach nodded they sat in silence for a few minutes. "Hey if you're up for it you wanna pull out the car and work on the beauty?" Both Charlie and Zach perked up. "You mean it?" Zach said nearly falling while he tried to stand. "Why not?" They said as they both headed to the garage. "I need to spend more time with you anyways before I go back again." Zach looked back. "What?" His dad then got a jack stand and started putting in under the car as started to lift up. "Your mother and I were talking about the new job opening that the commander offered I would be gone for six months but be home for two years." Zach didn't say anything. "So you won't see me for band camp?" His dad looked over and smiled. "Unfortunately, yes" Zach's beating heart wanted to stop after hearing that.

As the two worked on the car, Zach began to notice how much his father wanted to be home with everyone. He could always tell, just the way that he always wanted to spend time with his whole family before he went. Somehow his father always viewed his job is like cancer. You have so much little time before you have to leave to go to work for about six months. But at the same time, he loved his job, and he liked what he did. But yet his wife never thought the same. Even some days, he was considering if quitting was the best option to stay with his family. No, he doesn't travel with his family because he was worried that if Zach was traveling all over the place, he wouldn't be able to see his friends anymore. But like every dad, some flaws cannot be unbroken unless taking to precautions. The only reason that Zach's father comes home and wants to spend time at this point it's because PTSD is slowly killing him. But his wife never seems to realize that. She always said that her job was worse than his, which is not hypothetically correct. " you need to spend more time with your child!" she would yell on the phone. Sometimes his father even questions why he married her. But it all came down to it's because he truly loved her, even if they fight. It had been nearly two hours since they've been working on the car and his father had yet asked him how his season was going. it was almost nerve-wracking because usually he always did when he was home.

"I think next year I'm going to start taking summer classes." Zach finally said out loud. His dad came out from under the car and looked at his son. " why start summer classes? you'll be a senior." Zach nodded. " yes, true, but, I want to be ready for senior year, I'm too caught up and worried that I'm not going to graduate because of my credits." his father looked concerned " what wrong with your credits?" Zach looked over at his father. " well... I only need about ten more credits before I can graduate, so I want to catch up and plus the more credits you have the more that they'll look at it in college." his dad laughed " usually they don't care about college credits, they just want to see how well you did in your school that's the only thing they look at is your grades so I wouldn't be too concerned I would just meet the requirements." It was odd for him to talk like this way to his kid. maybe something happened at work, who knows, but what happened next changed a lot of things. his mother's car pulled into the driveway the two both smiled at the car and waved in the garage. but she did not seem happy as she got out of the car her husband went " I told you to call me when you landed!" she yelled. Zach's father was confused " I beg your pardon?" his mother went inside " you promised me you would call me when you landed!"

His father looked back at him " stay in the garage for a little bit, I need you to put in a new battery, you'll find it sitting on the workbench." Zach nodded but he wasn't going to do it just yet because he knew that some of these fights lasted for hours. It has seemed that his mother was upset because he didn't call when he had landed. an odd thing to say to a vet that just got home, though his mother was changing. She was changing way too much almost like Zach didn't know this person. his mother used to be a sweet loving person but it seems that work has been taking over her, turning her into a salty person. She was never home most of the time her boss always made her work The late shift. No wonder why Zach always felt alone, and no wonder why Ms. Yuri watches him most of the time wondering will the loneliness ever die. "If thou be loved." She said as she sat on the roof of a near by house. "Then thou would have attention of thee." she stood up and veered her way towards a dark atmosphere and walked into it. If you looked deeper into the hole you could see the man, and an unidentified person who's head was ripped clean off only to have a bone jutting from the neck. The head was nowhere to be found. I think it would be best to have left it that way anyways.
