As Lily is looking out the carriage window looking at the little shops lining the streets of the the city her mind wanders, thinking of what her life will be like without everyone at the orphanage, and living the life of a noble. Before she knows it the carriage is pulling up into a large courtyard will all kinds of different flora and fauna from all over the world. The carriage halts in front of a large building made of decorated marble and two large dark oak front doors.
"All right dear, we're here. Welcome to your new life."
The carriage door swings open and as she steps out of the carriage, Lily truly realizes just how big this estate is, and how different it will be compared to the small little wooden orphanage she's always known. She follows Madame Margaret up the large marble stairs to the building, as they get closer the doors start to open as if on command and an array of servants stands waiting to greet their master.
"Daphne, take Liliane to her room." she calls to a maid in a very fancy dress compared to the others. She then turns to Lily, "this is my head maid, her name is Daphne, if you need anything at all just call for her and she will retrieve it immediately. Now she will take you to your room and you can get settled, I will call you in the morning."
With that Lily is swept off up a large staircase in the centre of the entrance hall and down a hallway with many pictures that looked like family portraits. They enter a room at the end of the hall, inside is much larger than you would think looking at it from the outside, in the centre there is a canopy king sized bed fitted with pink floral sheets made of silk. Next to the bed tall bookshelves lined with books from every region make up a mini library. In the corner is a sitting area with a couch made of lilac velvet fabric and a glass coffee table with legs made of some kind of white wood that seems to sparkle. Across from the sitting area in the other corner, a large vanity with all kinds of makeup and perfumes spread out across the top, with a lavish chair that matches the couch.
"Here is your room Miss Liliane, please make yourself comfortable and have a look around. I have other duties to attend to but if you need anything just ring the bell. The closet is over there through those doors near the vanity, and the bathroom is the other door next to the bed, you will be called in the morning to meet with the Mistress for breakfast." With those last few words she was gone and Lily was left all alone in a strange place and a strange new world.
Lily walks over to the mini library and looks at all the books, most of them are in a different language and the ones that aren't are philosophical and over her head. She decides the books are a waste of time and walks over to the closet, she opens the closet and gets overwhelmed with the size, it's as large as the shared bedroom at the orphanage, and it's filled to the brim with fancy decorated dresses in every color you could think of. She quickly shuts the closet so she won't have to look at the horrific scene of all those dresses. After sitting down on the velvet couch she realizes how tired she is, so she makes her way over to the bed and lays down, as soon as her head hits the pillow she dozes off getting enveloped in the softness off the bed as if she were floating on a cloud.
As Lily dozes off she gets swept away into a dreamland. Her dream starts off in a pitch dark room, if it even is a room, then a scene starts to form around her, she's in a green grassy meadow next to a lush forest, with a breeze that smells like flowers. Lily walks across the meadow, she reaches a dirt road leading into the forest. Lily looks over at the forest studying it for a moment, then it hits her a wave of panic washes over her, as she starts running toward the forest yelling, screaming, tear streaming down her face. The forest bursts into flames knocking her back, by the time she gets back up all the flames are gone and there's nothing left but ash.
The world starts to swirl around her until she's standing above the orphanage, it's the middle of the night, and the sky is filled with stars you couldn't think you'd be able to fit any more up there. The moon is full at its peak in the sky, she looks over to notice a woman standing beside her.
"Hello dear. It's been awhile. Oh, how you've grown. Isabelle sure did a good job raising you into a beautiful woman." The mysterious woman says in a soft gentle voice that of a mothers.
"Who are you? Where am I? What's going on?" the realization of what's happening is starting to settle on her, and panic starts to creep its way up Lily's throat.
"Hush, everything is alright. This is just a spatial plane you reached through your dream. Nothing can happen to you here."
"What? What's a spatial plane? How is this even possible?" with every word she gets more and more panicked.
"Please calm down, I will explain everything." she waits for Lily to slow her breathing before continuing. "A spatial plane is a place where the living world and the spirit world intertwine. And as for you and me, you're from the living world and I'm from the spirit world, also known as the afterlife, land of the dead, ect. but that's not important. A spatial plane happens when someone with magic from either world has strong emotions or performs a spell."
"Wait, spirit world, spells, magic!? What is going on? Wait, if you're from the afterlife, that means you're dead!"
"Yes. I have already lived my life and passed on. In fact I was a part of your life. I was called here when your emotions lost control triggering your magic and causing the spatial plane. Considering that you're sleeping, I'm guessing this was caused by a dream you had that greatly disturbed you."
"Your dead! A part of my life! I have magic! What are you talking about? I have no idea who you are." with all the new information the panic starts to bubble up again.
"Yes, it saddens me that you don't remember who I am, though I suppose it has been a couple years. I'm your mother."
Lily just stands there, awestruck, this can't be happening, it's not possible, she thinks to herself. She tries to say something but all that comes out is, "Mom?". Tears start to stream down her face, now that she starts to realize, this woman does look alot like her mother, short blonde hair, hazel eyes, those gentle features, and her unusual naturally red plump lips that used to kiss her on the head every night and say, "I love you".
Lily's mom wraps her arms around her and holds her in a tight embrace and silent tears start streaming down her eyes, she cradles her like she'll never let go again. Lily starts crying, and hugs her mom back.
"Mom, why did you leave me? I was so scared, I was all alone." Lily says trying not to choke on her tears.
With a calming voice she whispers in Lily's ear, "I'm sorry, I never meant to leave you. But I'm here now aren't I."
Lily pulls away so she can look at her mom. "Yeah, but how exactly are you here? You're supposed to be dead. And if you're here does that mean dads here too?"
She looks into Lily's eyes, "Yes, I am dead, but like I said earlier this is a spatial plane where the spirit world and the living can connect. And as for your father I don't know. I haven't seen him since that morning when we left for town. He isn't here, which probably means he is still alive somewhere."
"Dad is alive! Where, I have to find him!"
"I'm sorry, that I don't know."
"Oh. Well you said something about magic earlier, if I have magic I can learn how to use it to find dad."
"That is possible but it will be very difficult to do. Magic is very rare, not a lot of people can use it. And it's very difficult to master. The only reason you were able to create this place was because your emotions got out of control causing your magic to rampage and create the spatial plane."
"Oh. Well then, you can teach me. Since you seem to know so much about magic."
"It's possible but, I can only interact with you here, I can guide you and give you tips but you'll have to do everything else on your own."
Just then, Lily's mom seemed to disappear for a moment, and the world around them starts to vanish.
"Mom, what's going on. You're disappearing." she yells full of panic that she will lose her mom once again.
"This spatial plane was created while you were asleep. You must be waking up, and returning to your world."
Before she can say anything, Lily is pulled from the spatial plane and back into her world. She jolts awake with dried tears on her face, to find Daphne at her bedside table with a tea tray.
